    Recoil spring poundage?

Pick your spring based on what gives you the best return to zero. Take a slow mo video of yourself shooting and see how the muzzle behaves, adjust from there. Yes 1 pound can make a difference for any shooter, but this may be a low yield endeavor depending on your level of participation and recoil control
  2. To anyone looking for the files just search "home free bullet feeder" and click on the downloads link in the cast boolits forum. The home free design is better than any of the others out there by a long shot, go with that one.
  3. I've noticed that my Dillon flair seems to be non- centered when loading .40. The bell on the case is more significant on one side compared to the other. Using stock Dillon powder funnel. Has anyone experienced this issue before, or know how to fix it?
  4. Am definitely going to give them a shot! Thank you for the tip. They come out to 8.67 cents per 180 gn .40 for future reference to anyone reading.
  5. Oh, sweet. Assuming you've used the product, what are your thoughts?

    .40 Syntech in a TSO

I've used it before and it runs fine. A bit snappy for my taste, much prefer my softer reloads. No need to change out the spring for it to cycle properly but if it is going to be your dedicated match ammo or whatnot I'd pick the spring that gives you the best return to zero
  7. I haven't considered shooting uncoated bullets before, should I?
  8. I believe so based on buddies who buy from them.
  9. Sorry if this has been done recently, but I'm looking to switch to another bullet manufacturer to save some money where I can. Cost savings to me are more important than bullet quality at this point in my life, so where are you guys finding the cheapest .40 bullets these days? It appears that Gallant has the lowest cost after shipping at 9.3 cents per bullet for 180gn's. Does anyone know of a cheaper manufacturer?
  10. Just wanted to post an update here on a project I put together a few months ago. Set out to find a way to run a bullet feeder in station 4 of the Dillon 750 without compromising the function of the failsafe rod or seeing to purchase alternative slide bars. I designed and printed a relocation bracket for the failsafe rod that allows the measure to be turned counter clockwise to clear the bullet drop. This otherwise needs to be achieved by buying a DAA short bar (why spend money if you dont have to) or converting over to the "old style" spring system (which introduces the possibility of double charging cases). I have about 1k rounds loaded with this current set up with 0 hiccups and it works well for me. From what I understand there may be an issue with running a powder check die if it is too tall based on a friends experience with this set up. Works great with the checker I use. Here are some pics of the set up
  11. This 100%. People dont just shoot CO because of the dot. People also shoot CO because it's the only high cap division where 9mm minor is a viable option if you want to be competitive.
  12. Can you attach some pictures so we can get an idea of how everything fits?
  13. Something different, but I thought I'd throw it in here. 3D printed magwell on my TSO, been running this one for a while now with no issues. I prefer the plastic to a metal magwell, it is much easier on your feed lips and once it gets torn up, it costs less than a dollar to print a new one and throw it on. The one in this pic has probably 4-6 matches on it, 1k rounds, hundreds of reloads- has not broken or needed replacement yet. width: Outer diameter: 52mm Inner diameter: 44mm length: OD: 76mm ID: 65mm height: 22mm
  14. This is my main worry, I was using that comp as an example, not sure how well it would fit the profile of the TSO slide either. I imagine however with a drill press or file one could modify the guide rod hole on the comp to fit the TSO, as well as fit the profile of the frame so that the comp can reciprocate with the barrel.
  15. Also if you look a few pages back here, you will see a guy is working on a proprietary compensator to fit this exact purpose
  16. https://christiansencomponents.com/product/toni-system-beretta-92x-open-compensator/ This + TSO threaded barrel + slightly longer TSO guide rod is what my brain wants to believe will work. Unless my logic is flawed in some way..
  17. Well keep us posted... I still think a non-cone thread on compensator retained by an extended guide rod would be the simplest approach but maybe I'm missing something here
  18. I'm pretty sure that you need to cut your slide to make it work with the cone comp as you're describing. The goal of this thread is to figure out how to do it without cutting the slide. Maybe I'm missing something but the TSO slide minus barrel bushing will still be too small of a hole for the compensator to sit flush to the slide. Look at the very first page of this thread for an example
  19. Great! Just make sure that you clarify that the threads should begin once the barrel clears the slide and not before like on the czechmate. I'm sure you got that already but just being safe.
  20. For this reason I am considering the option of commissioning a barrel from bar-sto similar to the CZC version but with longer threads, say an inch rather than a half inch (or whatever their current threads are).
  21. There are dozens of long threads on doing the chopped slide jobs. This one is specifically for the CZC threaded barrel (or similar aftermarket). I dont think the clamp-on comp is a widely popular idea, but maybe that warrants it's own thread. Let's keep this one focused on it's original intent for the sake of productivity.
  22. Great! Keep us posted. This is the focus of this thread, trying to find a drop in method of making a poor man's czechmate. We're looking to use that CZC threaded barrel and a comparable comp. Thanks for reaching out to that gunsmith overseas. I'm looking forward to seeing if they'll ship just guide rods. I might also inform them that there is a market for it here so may be worth their while.
  23. Very well said here. I have personally never had issues with the safety, but the newer TSO's have the in- between length between the old TS and the oversized CZC safety. Not sure which one originally gave obsessive problems but just something to keep in mind. I have small to medium sized hands and the TSO fits me perfectly. I cant imagine that spending the extra few hundred to get an entry level 2011 is worth it over a TSO. Custom built multi-thousand dollar guns is an entirely different ballgame
