  1. Good selling point. Would love to check one out, the CZ's I've shoot feel really good.
  2. Im glad Florida is a VERY long state. My GF wants to know if your Alton?
  3. Shoot more than you watch. You can learn a lot by watching, but the learning curve is MUCH steeper when you actually have the gun in your hand. Yeah there is no training like what happens after you hear "nod if your ready"
  4. Would this go under the heading of "reloading snobs"? As far as good ammo goes all my shooting problems center on..ahh...me. Not my Dillon, not my gun and not what I feed it. Now if any of those "serious" shooters have a Dillon they just can't stand cuz of the poor ammo it makes send them my way. Im sure I could find it in my heart to help a fellow shooter out by taking that Dillon off their hands. You know just to foster good will to other types of shooting
  5. Wow! Great "How not to" video. And I won't dog the guy out, I think he did that just fine. And also a great reminder of what can happen in a split second of carelessness. I plan to show this to my kids. And (typeing and a lot) I have to agree with the safety at the "action" shooting sports matches I've been at. I never worry at matches. Someone here stated this guy needs TRAINING TRAINING TRAINING, again could'nt agree more. After I got out of the fulltime Army my Reserve unit did some training with another Reserve unit. We got the job of running ranges for them. I like to peed my pants in fear running the ranges for these guys (and gals). After a dischage in a cement fireing position with injury we stopped everything and started over with BASIC firearms safety training. Oh how they bitched and moaned. This was a medical unit and our first demo was to shoot a large can of soup. After that we kinda had thier attention. Still I drew body armor and a ballbat!
  6. I use an RCBS Hand Primer and always bottom it out when seating primers and they ALWAYS go bang!! I get multiple misfires in every 100 or so Winchesters. Other people have no problem with them. The answer... I'm probably breaking the Winchester primers by seating them too hard. The CCIs love it! NEVER misfire when seated really hard. Just my observations from close to a decade of using CCIs and briefly trying Winchesters. Ahh....crush them with a hand primer?......ok? I have used CCI's and Winchesters I my XD with no problems. Trigger was done by Canyon Creek and it's light n sweet. I can't comment on Glocks but the XD will drop the striker when not fully closed. I have a friend new to reloading who put some rounds together a bit long, he was getting 1 misfire (light strike) out of 30 or so. Ran the ammo back under the seating die with an adjustment and it was healed. Not sure what would cause your problem. Your sure the striker isn't dragging? And one more question. How clean is it? Mine starts to run a little slower around the 1100 round mark. I hit it with which ever spray cleaner landed in my range bag and it starts cranking again. Here is a link to a great site for a complete tear down of the XD. My other suggestion would be a post your question on XD Talk. There are some really great folks over there with far more knowledge than I on the XD. http://www.xd-hs2000.com/disassembly/disassembly.html
  7. Hey! Did you ask Dillon? They are more than willing to help.
  8. Hey Chris, Yeah I'll PM you. Don't want to throw anyone under the bus....and....ahh.....was going to let this kinda die. When I really took a long look at what had gone down I had it bass ackwards. The round took the top of the chamber, where there are 2 90 degee cut outs. The loaded chamber indecator rests or is pushed up by a round. Anyone with a XD will know what I m saying. Well after trying and trying to fit the round my 13 year stepkid walks up, turns it up side down and says it fits now........ So 800 + or - rounds later it does it again$$%#@#%^%^%^ This time not at a match and I clear it without Nemo's Kung Fu (which is very strong). And I then me thinks why could this be a happenin' , so I mic's some rounds and they are short......like so short they could hide under an ID card. I guess the rounds were poping up in the mag and being jammed in to those 90's. So yes i will PM you if you still want to know who made the bullets....but I think this was reloader error. Not bullet maker. Ahh...yes...the reloader was me
  9. Humm....no I think I'll just have a big glass of Shut The Heck Up on this one. And be happy I live in the free south.
  10. Yeah I would use the primers, just loaded some that came over on the Mayflower. They all went bang...maybe 12 or so years old
  11. Been working up a load with the "new" bullets. And they may not as smokeless as factory but they are a HECK of a lot better than lead. The price jump is a little painful. However after my last match, in which a lead bullet almost welded itself in to the gun and the lack of smoke......I'll just work a little more. I can shoot at my place when ever I want but the nearest match is 90 miles away, don't ever want to be "jammed up" with lead ammo again
  12. Ended up with 4.9 grains = 925/935. Thats in Florida with a temp around 90+. Plan to throw a few in the cooler and see if they change, as I've read 231 slows down with low temps. It's been raining nearly 'round the clock and I still have 200+ lead bullets to make go away , when I get done with those will clean the gun and re-chrono..........
  13. Could you define "death jam"? My XD locked up at my last match, it was totally an ammo problem. Soft lead pealed back and formed 2 hooks. Took Nemo kung fo'ing it to clear. Now I don't run lead.
  14. Wish I had asked which, seems like there would more demand for a 5" in 40 than 9mm. And I also want more options, Prod, L10, or Limited. I love the XD and will keep at it with that till they cough up the 40.
