What would make these bullets smoke more than other jacketed bullets?
Theyre not jacketed...

The PT1911 is an 80 series 1911. It can be fitted with any 1911 trigger and grip safety.
The key word is fitted.
There are a couple of 1911 specific forums that cater to more the newbie do-it-yourselfer.
Heres one:http://forum.m1911.org

I think it will be a big (mostly psychological) boost when I go from the current M&P40 to the longslide version.
Cant wait for the bigger sight radius!

No place for hearsay here.

Its almost a science, to know how much barass to tumble with how much media.
I start it with the cover off and I slowly add cases until I notice they start to slow down a little bit. Then I set it and forget it.

In my shooting world, $200 doesnt buy very much ammo, or reloading components, maybe a couple weeks worth of ammo. I say youll DEFINITELY notice the limitations of a stock barrel, especially when you do long range standards or tight head shots. Get the fitted barrel.

I bet the janitor was trying to figure out a way to jack them......

if the wwb wasnt tumbling, Id suggest jacking up the charge a little bit.

Nils was on my squad at pasa last year, shooting a revolver. Hes a good guy; but what really struck me was the level of support he had from his family. They were all there and they were all having a great time.

Hi, DR!
Im a big fan.
Some people get what the big picture is, that you teach.

I love my dawson sight set with the Fo front.
Not a fan of the warren rears.
Lots of folks out there can do good trigger work on these; its really easy, and you dont have to buy any new parts.

Check you’re recoil spring for binding. If the spring is to long it will bind and stop the slide (instead of the slide hitting the buff the spring pushes on the center of the buff. That will destroy a buff in short order.
Right; if the recoil spring goes "solid", youll be chewing up more than just buffs.

good post JB.
Our woods is full of those paper tigers.

Dang, I cant go to a gun board without seeing this pistol; you showoff!

Heh, I have a friend whose name is only 1 letter different from one of the country's most notorious murderers... (who also happens to be a free man nowadays, thanks to our lame ass prison terms and court system.)
You know BJ Simpson??

Ive been hitting el prez hard the last two days at the range. probably ran it 30-40 times.
Im averaging 6 sec flat, with about 4-5 down.
My reload is always between 1.6 and 1.8sec.
I guess I need to practice the reload, huh?

Id call up para or ask for George Wedge's number and/or email. Hes a good ear over at para.
I cant believe they wont sell the springs seperately.

I think that you still need to "hold" the gun using the thumbs, though. Its that whole neutral grip thing; no part of your hands should be applying any unequal pressure to the gun, at least none thats not canceled out in the overall grip. I think of my hands as a vice, I hold the gun with a certain distance between my palms , visualizing the gun getting squeezed, and then let my upper body and forearms maintain the grip.

Yes, they run fine in them; a bit of leading, but not bad at all.
