I just can't bring myself to pay any higher than 10 CPR, pandemic be damned haha. Thanks for the links all the same though!

Montana Gold updates their website regularly usually late afternoon/evening. But you have to catch it instantly.

Word is you can call Precision Delta and possibly get on a lengthy wait list

Appreciate the heads up, I'll try both options.

    Cheers!

  2. Consolidated findings/information, current as of 10/14/2020, that were kindly shared by members in this thread or found through doing some digging:

    - Precision Delta (PD) is periodically restocking various projectile sizes/types as they are created; the best way to catch the restocks would be to subscribe to their email newsletter and jump on the purchase ASAP once the update is blasted out via email. They had a backorder waitlist going during the summer months, but have since discontinued this due to it getting out of hand.
*Price of 115gr JHP's are unknown (previously 8.64 CPR, but was told to expect a price increase for future restocks)*
*Price of 124gr JHP's are 10.175 CPR when bought in quantities of 2000*

    - Montana Gold (MG) is restocking/updating their website daily, usually around ~2pm PST. There is no back order system available; purely first-come-first-serve.
*Price of 115gr JHP's are 9.075 CPR when bought in quantities of 4000*
*Price of 124gr JHP's are 9.6 CPR when bought in quantities of 3750*

    - Rocky Mountain Reloading (RMR) is accepting backorders for projectiles and advertising an 8+ week estimated lead time, with some customers recently receiving emails warning that it may be longer than the advertised 8 weeks.
*Price of 124gr JHP's are 10.2 CPR when bought in quantities of 1000*

    - Everglades Ammunition has JHP's currently in stock and available for purchase.
*Price of 115gr JHP's are 19.8 CPR when bought in quantities of 500*
*Price of 124gr JHP's are 15 CPR when bought in quantities of 500*

    ---- Original Post Below ----

Was wondering if any of you 9-major shooters have been able to find quality 115gr or 124gr 9mm JHPs in stock at a reasonable price lately? I'm having a helluva time finding any and would greatly appreciate it if anyone could point me towards some or share some info about places that are restocking regularly still.

I'm kicking myself for not stocking up back in the spring time when Precision Delta still had them available; was trying to hold out for a 4th of July sale that never even materialized haha.

Thanks in advanced, cheers and be well everyone!

    yup... Lot 314

i have the same production code

please let me know what you find out.

@SeattleDude was able to get his 314 lots exchanged for 115 lots. I'm trying to do the same, but I have yet to hear back after a week; sent a followup email 2 days ago so hopefully I get a response tomorrow.

  4. I think its likely that you have a slow lot if its taking you 10.6gr to make PF with a 5" barrel, 2x popple holes, and a 124gr bullet at 1.165" OAL. Especially if it is a KKM barrel, as those are known to be amongst the fastest-shooting, while SV barrels are known to be slower-shooting.

The lot number is located to the right of the red "CAUTION":

The last 3 digits indicate the lot number. I believe the different lot numbers in circulation as of recent are 314, 514, and 115.

For sure, once I have dialed everything down ill shoot a vid.

I am still playing with loads...

    I make 172PF with 8.2gr of HS6 and 1.175"

I barely make PF with 10.4gr of Major Pistol at 1.165"

I'll crank it to 10.6gr of MP at 1.165" and I am hoping to see 169-170PF

What bullet are you using and which lot of SWMP? 115gr?

If you have lot 314 of SWMP, know that it shoots slower-than-normal. I have a bunch of it and am currently waiting on a response from SW to my request to exchange it for a different lot.

  6. This is pretty niche, but if you're selling a 1911 variant, I highly recommend the classifieds section of the forums on www.1911addicts.com

I had my Dan Wesson 1911 listed on gun broker, armslist, ar15.com, and here for about 1+ month and didn't really get any traction. It sold within 24 hours when I listed it on 1911addicts. Be aware that there is a 3-week or so probationary period before an account is able to use the classifieds section over there, in addition to a 20 post minimum requirement.

It should be the other way around. Lot 314 is the Slow Lot.

It took exactly 1 full grain more of Lot 314 (10.7gr) to get to same Power Factor of Lot 514 (9.7gr) with 124gr MG JHP.

I just got new replacement 8lb Jugs of SWMP and they are Lot 115 . Time to work up new load again. 😃

Glad to hear they took care of you and replaced the 314 with 115. Let us know how 115 performs for you.

I'm still waiting to hear back after requesting a replacement non-314 lot.

My lot 514 took 1 grain more to reach the same velocity of the first one pound canister I bought to sample. It had no lot number on it at all. It must have been lot 314. The performance of their powder seems to be all over the place.

It must be 314, I think everyone else who has reported slow powder on the forums had a 314 lot.

  9. @zzt No worries, thanks for putting me in touch! Very reasonable price for fully processed single-headstamp; just put in an order for 9K from him while I wait my turn on A+ Brass' waitlist for some cheaper mixed-headstamp / cleaned-n-polished-only.

  10. Would someone kindly be able to shoot me Ken's contact info? I think I found an old email address of his posted here from years ago that is no longer functioning. Shot the email and got an "address not found" error returned.

I have stopped using AmmoBrass.  Their pricing has got out of hand.  Also, the light wax they put on the cases is inconsistent, causing it to stick in the expander.   I've bought two batches of 3000 each from Kenneth Marx in In.  He does the same as AmmoBrass, except his brass is tumbled in media instead of wet cleaned.  His media is treated with wax and the cases do not stick in the expander.  It is all the same headstamp (you chose which one) for $150/3000 shipped.  Price is double for 6000.  The price is even less for mixed HS brass.

Ken is now cheaper than AmmoBrass, which just raised the price to $220/4000.  I think AB is taking advantage of the 9mm shortage.

Thanks, I'll shoot Ken an email to get a price list. I wonder if he offers brass that is cleaned/polished/sorted for less than the "fully processed" brass.

  12. I received a reply from SW regarding my email to them. It appears that the dates found in the lot number are of little significance; probably just bottling date or something else that has zero impact on the formulation of the powder itself. I bulk ordered 48lb's of SWMP and all jugs that I received were lot 314. I intend to load for a longer OAL under a 115gr JHP, so I'd highly prefer to not have to use more powder from the slower batch to make Major PF. I'm going to request to exchange my unopened 314 jugs for 514 jugs; I'll post an update here once I get a response from SW to support that request or not.

Below is the response I received to my email, which asked the same questions that I posted on the previous page of this thread:

    "Hello Jason

Thanks for the email. A lot is a specific batch, we manufacture about 10,000 lbs of powder per lot. Lots may very from lot to lot on any and all powders. Lot 314 was just a little too slow for acceptable in some applications, mostly competitive
shooter loading 9Major. We could have up to 3-5 different lots of powder at one time as we order no less than 30,000 lbs at a time. All other lots of this powder including lot 514 are certified within their specs of where they should be. only lot 314 is slow.

Hope this makes sense. Please le me know if you have any other questions.

    Thank You"
