  1. This of course assumes you have an American-style reticle and not one of those 3-part European things. Otherwise you're going to be pointing left...
  2. Go to a gunshow and find an old Redfield 1X-4X x 20 IER (Intermediate Eye Relief). Seven inches of eye relief and a pretty good day optic. Price range $100 - $175.
  3. With correct sight alignment the Heinie Slant-Pro/Dawson .105 mounted on my 34 shoots point of impact six inches higher than point of aim at 25 yards. Not hard to compensate but is this normal?
  4. It was about two magazines deep in the first stage of my first 3-gun match shooting a Beretta Cougar .45 that I realized there was a Glock 34 in my future.
  5. Uhhh... nothing like that ever happened to me... (shuffles feet and looks at shoes...) Bore and scope centerlines are about three inches apart. Gonna try sight alignment by lining up the vertical adjust cover and lens cap hinge, doing sight picture from that and see where point of impact ends up. Point of aim may have to be a little HIGH but you never know till you put rounds into the dirt.
  6. Thanks Merlin and dv8. That confirms what I was able to find. I'm setting my AR15 with a Redfield 1X-4X - 20 scope I found at a gun show. It's one of the Colorado-made Redfields and considered pretty good in its day. Put it in a Rock River one-piece mount so 3" eye relief is comfortable with an A2 fixed stock. (Could have bought a Redfield IER scope (long eye relief - 7") with the same 1X-4X from the guy but think that's more of a turkey gun scope.) I want to shoot close targets looking OVER the scope. Just needed to know what minimum distance to practice and it looks like pretty close. Thanks again guys. MBE
  7. ...been hanging for a few months and I have a question. Is there a MINIMUM distance to rifle targets? Can't find anything in the rulebook. Are there standard practices or conventions or is it up to MD etc??
