Does anyone have any idea why my Final Score in Practiscore wouldn’t calculate - but my raw score and penalties are both posted? The data is accurate — but instead of a final score, it just says “0”. (And, no - I didn’t get DQ’d. ) This is my first match in almost 15 years and I was pretty happy with my score…but not the zero! Thanks!

My Beretta PX4 is almost enough to steal me away from my Matt Mink SP-01 (which is now sporting the Steve Bedair guide rod -- thanks!) The PX4 is an incredibly smooth shooter -- if my son hadn't claimed it for his own I might have to give it a try. For now, I'll stick with my CZ -- but Beretta really has a winner in the Storm! Jim

My son has started shooting my PX4 in Production instead of a Glock 17. He likes it much better. If he hadn't stolen it from me, I might be persuaded to switch from my CZ SP-01 Tactical (although it is a very nice gun!). I saw a couple of Berettas at the York PA Summer Blast this weekend. We had a guy in our squad (a B-class shooter) using his 92FS. I think most people get scared off by the heavy trigger pull (nothing a D-spring can't fix!) and the Glock mentality. Personnally, I hardly notice the DA pull (maybe it's the adrenaline from the buzzer!) and my Beretta's have been 100% reliable. Jim

My son and I shot the match on Friday. It was our first Summer Blast and only my son's 4th match. I have to echo what everyone else has said about the quality of the match and the great work by all the staff, RO's, etc. We really enjoyed getting to see some top shooters like Dave Sevigny, Scott Warren and Todd Sindelar shoot. I think next year we'll have to plan in some extra time to see some more! Jim

Hmm...very tempting. I may have to get some once Angus has them back in stock. Stuart, what's with all the muzzle wear on your SP01? That looks pretty excessive compared to anything I've experienced. Is that just normal wear and tear? BTW, great pics! You're going to start giving Dr. Lunde a run for his money! Jim

I put reduced power hammer springs in my P89 and P93 and they did lighten up the action some. Still pretty heavy, though, compared to most of my other pistols. I tried the HiViz fiber optic front sight, too. The smallest dot size is still too big for the notch in the rear sight, so you have to come up with a funky way to align your sight picture to get consistent hits. As much as I like my Rugers, the lack of aftermarket support is definitely a downer! Jim

My 16-yr old son wants to start shooting with me. I was going to sign him up online for a membership but then I saw the statement you have to click that says "According to the legal requirement of the United States are you able to purchase and possess firearms? " Well, the answer for him is "no". But I also didn't see anywhere to specify that this is a membership for a junior member. Also, I assume that you just sign kids up as an associate member? I didn't see any special category for juniors. Has anyone registered their kids online -- and does it work? I can see this getting rejected when it gets processed. Thanks for any insights! Jim

Unless Tripp had to do something with the sight when they chromed the pistol for you.... As far as the screw, why not call King's Gun Works and ask them? I found them to be very helpful when I ordered my sights and hammer. Jim

Waah...waah...waah! I missed this year and it looks like I'll be underway next year if it falls on the weekend of 15 July. It's just not fair!!! (Unless Larry wants to make it June 29 - July 1 next year.....) *sigh* Jim

I haven't used their holster but I like their double mag pouches. They adjust easily and hold the magazines fine. It makes it hard to justify paying BladeTech prices when the Uncle Mike's works! Jim

I had the same problem with my P228 -- the slide stop lever is just in the wrong place for a high grip with thumbs forward. Rather than try to change how I hold the gun, I just got rid of the Sig. Frankly, I didn't find it to be that great a shooter anyway - so it didn't break my heart. I think you run into a danger if you start modifying your grip based on what pistol you're shooting. I want my grip to be universal...I'll make other adjustments for aim, recoil, muzzle flip, etc. Just my $0.02... Jim

I went with the black competition sights from Angus and I'm very happy. No fiber -- just a regular front sight. The width is just right and the sight picture is very easy to acquire. Either way, the competition sights are the way to go on the CZ! Jim

I've really fallen in love with my CZ 75BD for Production. I started out with my Beretta 92G Vertec and switched to the CZ. I like it so much, that I think I'm going to get an SP-01 Tactical (which will also work for Limited or Lim10). Very accurate, very stable (for me)...a great shooter. Jim
