  1. FYI this has been useful to me; https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1984803/Amg-Commander.html#manual
  2. FYI Here is where the link was posted by USPSA / SC. https://uspsa.org/announcements
  3. So there have been many threads and posts in the context of how do we grow membership for Steel Challenge. What can we learn from the success and the stats here in this thread about successful clubs and large matches?
  4. Glad @greg9x21 jumped in. I saw him this morning and alerted him to the stats. Super nice guy. I shot their weekly Thurs. 8 stage match. I'll be back there on Saturday for the 3pm ( start time ) match. The 2024 US steel nationals will also be held there in March. Greg Laser levels the plates, has all AMG shot timers / pads sync'd up and ready to go prior and ample steel target paint. He even has a dedicated trailer with a sliding window for registration. As a bonus he has these too ! Taken last week;
  5. https://scsa.org/club/topclubs I have never seen this before and someone shared with me today ( perhaps it is new ). I found this interesting. I'm the MD for #18, but snowbird in FL and have visited many of the other clubs. Only clear definitive conclusion so far is that increased matches = increased classifications ( no shocking ) which is good for our hobby. Volusia / First coast ( same thing ) put on 3+ / week and do a great job with all 8 setup all the time. I also shoot in NJ and was surprised to see the density in number of shooters / match for the (2) NJ matches show up. Kudos to the SCSA.org team for doing this ! Share your experiences / conclusions...
  6. I'm using the O-ring pack; It seems like it is non-specific with regard to 9mm or AR15 https://jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPSCS2-ORING-PK
  7. The Berry's 100s are dimpled in the back to make the bullet longer for OAL; Sorry for blurry pic, all I had at the moment;
  8. Perhaps this is related to the “Seinfeld” episode “The Postponement” George: I want your honest opinion about something. Jerry: Have I ever been less than forthright? George: No, you haven’t. Well, maybe you have. What do I know. Jerry: Yeah, I probably have. Yeah, of course I have. What am I talking about? George: All right. Okay, tell me what you think about this idea: Extend the doors on the toilet stalls at Yankee Stadium all the way to the floor. Jerry: Extend the doors on the toilet stalls at Yankee Stadium to the floor …door comes down. Hides your feet. Yes. I like it. I like it a lot. George: It’s good, right? Jerry: I think it’s fantastic. I think it’s a fantastic idea. George: You do? Jerry: Yes, I do. George: Well, I told it to Susan: before, and she didn’t like it. Jerry: Hmm. George: Yeah. Not only that, this is what she said to me, “Can we change the subject?” Jerry: See, now that I don’t care for. George: Right. I mean, we’re on a subject. Why does it have to be changed? Jerry: It should resolve of its own volition. George: That’s exactly what I said, except I used the word “momentum”. Jerry: Momentum - same thing.
  9. To amplify how ultra competitive the low ready divisions are when compared to the CF. I compute match classification for matches ( how you did on all 8 against your division PST in that match ). Here is the first 50 from the area 6 match. On the far right is the classification / letter designation for the match. top 10 all shot > 100% in this match against their PST division Out of the top 50 there is only (5) CF divisions represented ( 4) CO; (1) OPN Iron divisions frequently end up with a higher match classification achievement due to the higher PST ( RFRO(68) vs RFRI(74) ) Top CF shooter shot a 93% for the match
  10. Great advice ! Does anyone make a more durable o-ring or has anyone found a suitable substitute from another use item ? Just curious. If I were at a match and did not have replacements or time to replace the o-ring, would damage be done by running without one ?
  11. Thanks for the thoughtful response; That is a great question which I am embarrassed not to have kept track of ( same one or not ). I have the maintenance kit and have swapped 3x new ones ( same or not unsure ) I also was thinking of the smashing, but I am shooting stupid low power factor 9mm; I oil the SCS big time every cleaning with mobil 1 ( interesting on deterioration ) Here is a thought, I have the SCS spaced out with a few quarters in the tube so it contacts the bolt a smidge; Is it possible the constant contact / force always on the ring would accelerate this issue ?
  12. I'm using a 4 weight SCS in my steel challenge 85pf load. Very low power. I use 2 steel / 2 tungsten and I forget which spring at the moment. Over the last month 3x I have found an o-ring torn and hanging out. Any idea what could be causing this ?
  13. Oh, you are right; Sorry; I did paste a text file, but the forum seems to have changed to an image; Let me try this again; https://github.com/jrdoran/temp/blob/main/export_PST.csv PM me if you have any issues;
  14. You should be able to import this text table into excel @jgs53
  15. Fanning the flames !!!! How about ? Senior vs Super Senior vs Distinguished Senior ? Preteen vs junior ? Lady vs Foreign ? Law Enforcement vs Military ? How does everybody feel about those micro sub-classifications ? J/K. please do not go down this rabbit hole.
  16. Joe, I'm not following you here. I find combined the least useful of all the PS result sets as the low ready/rifle divisions are always going to produce lower total times. Could you elaborate on your point of view here, especially as a revolver shooter.
  17. For the matches I run, I email the participants this exact assessment ( sort of a handicap based on division ) ; I also wrote s/w which pulls in from any match in PS and computes the same. Interesting when comparing worlds, area matches, etc
  18. This thread has drifted quite a bit from the original LO discussion, however I have observed that Rimfire Challenge matches are typically quite popular with new / experienced shooters. It is interesting that each rimfire challenge match can be a bit different and no one seems to worry about any sanctioning body or association. Fees are also typically half of a SCSA match.
  19. Thanks; Please note there are numerous places where PCCO is wrongly referenced on the SC pages as PCC Optics. In the rulebook it is clearly PCC Open. Just an PSA for all of us as it comes up time to time. https://uspsa.org/viewer/SCSA-Rulebook.pdf
  20. YES; Depends on the maturity of the club matches I've noticed. My 8 stage match last week that I run, out of 31 guns, 15 were CO/OPN / OSR and best overall match classification was by CO 2 weeks in a row; and Tomorrow's match also is quite well represented with CF Pistols;
  21. It sounds like at best LO will be provisional in 2024 and perhaps have PST in 2025 if I read the post from Zach correctly. You will have plenty of time to think about it.

  23. I shoot Atlanta Arms 100gr 9mm steel challenge ( 109pf ) in my PCCO and OPN and even sometimes 1911 in steel challenge. works great ! Others who try it says it feels like cheating https://atlantaarms.com/products/elite-9mm-100gr-fmj-steel-challenge.html
  24. I shoot my 9mm 1911 with a slide mounted optic in Open. All is good, not worried about PST in that division. It is fun and keeps me current. Having LO would give me 2x in a match to shoot it.
