  1. Aaagh -- I thought found the perfect mag set up for my 9mm STI Eagle -- an SV 126mm 38/9mm tube, with the purple follower.

So I recently bought two more tubes. To my eyes, and probably poor measuring skills they appear identical to older tubes I have, but I'm running into this problem:

    1) Neither tube will seat w/out *slamming* it up into the pistol. Otherwise, it never engages the magazine catch.

    2) If I DO slam the tube up, so it seats, it's wedged in, and the magazine release won't allow it to drop free.

With the slide off, I can see nothing obviously catching or rubbing....What is going on? :(

    thx

Check for interference at the mag basepad around the front lip of the magwell.

Yep, try seating it without the magwell on and see if the same thing happens. I had to mill/file some off of my magwell and basepads to avoid the same problem on my eagle in 40.

  2. That's made by Jim Anglin of Sailors Customs.

The gun was built by BCHN Custom. 100% positive and it runs and runs and runs. Very accurate also!

That reply was when he asked who made the thumb rest. The gun was built by BCHN, but then Ray tuned it to how he likes them with some other parts.

  3. another one from GANS, will be in my hands tomorrow. I had Gary put a quinn mount instead of my normal barry. from the picture it looks pretty far forward, don't know if I will like that or not. I will keep everyone posted. also a picture with a JPoint and JV Dynamics mount.

Dude, we can compare Quinn mounts and how we like them at SAPSA this month. I just picked one up this weekend. I'll post a picture later.

are you going to titusville saturday? it will be a charity match with 6 or 7 stages.

I'm afraid I have to do some charity work at the house this weekend :surprise: Then I'll test the mount at the SEPSA match before SAPSA.

  5. Ricky,

I think the 3mm fits without having to adjust the feed lips and the 4mm works if you tweak the feed lips some. It does not matter for your short mags, since the open gauge is 170mm.

  6. OK so I've loaded up some of these 220gr lead bullets at 1.22 OAL and they won't case gauge. They almost go, but stop just shy of fitting all the way down. I have the EGW u die, Redding Comp. seating die and lee FCD. When I switch back to the 200 gr. zero's they check just fine. Any ideas? They will fit the chamber of my 6 inch fat free, but not my sight tracker.

  7. Yeah, number 3 overall in this match was really at a dissadvantage :surprise: It all depends. If you shoot A's it does not matter. That is exactly what Kenny did. One 30 ish round stage his time was right there with the open guns and only dropped 3 charlies  I'm going to hate to see it when he gets used to the new gun.

  8. Hello: I was just wondering what people are using to go to out of town matches? I have been using a 2004 Mini Cooper S since it is easy on fuel. Is anyone else using gas miser vehicles or am I the only one? Thinking of a diesel next. Let me know what you are using. Thanks, Eric

I don't burn a drop of gas when I go to matches - My Jeep Liberty burns diesel. I recommend it.

I was going to say the same thing only mine is a Dodge 2500. 21-23 mpg on the highway :D
