  1. OK, why are they having the Open/Prod shooters shoot 5 stages/5 stages/ 5 stages/ 3 stages but, the lim/l10 shoot 6 stages/ 6 stages/ 6 stages?

To fit it into the week?

Dont know, dont care, just so's I goes

Why make us stay an extra day? I'd like to stay for awards, but they are set for Tuesday night after shooting 3 stages. Hell if we could do 6 stages a day Tuesday could be a travel back home day instead of messing around with 3 stages.

  2. If you are going to shoot plate racks a lot I would have 4 or 5 170mm. The extra weight helps a ton with the recoil and transitions don't really matter for plate racks.

For IPSC get 1 or maybe 2 170s and at least 3 140s.

For Steel Challenge get all 140s, at least 5.

BTW- you will be able to reload a ton faster with 140 mags.

My plan is to shoot mainly IPSC so I guess I will stick with 2 170s and 3 140s

    Thanks

It is always nice to have a really short mag for going prone. I keep that one in the case all the time since we almost never go prone around here.

  3. This gun is like shooting a gun with a really light slide and bull barrel. I find that I can track the front sight way better than with my old edge. I don't know if there is any advantage or not, but it looks really cool and runs great.

  4. OK, so I ordered up some 220 gr bullets from S&S. When I load them they will not go in the chamber, I can load a 200 gr Zero to the same length and it chambers fine, but the lead bullets will not. Any ideas? I'm loading to 1.22 and the gunsmith told me that I could load even longer and be fine.

  5. I really think production as some people envisioned it is a train that has left the station and can never get back. Accepting that fact and moving on I don't know why we can't really simplify the PD rules. It could be as easy as:

    * must be DA first shot/striker fired

    * must be readily available to the public(set a number if you want)

    * gun with an empty mag must fit in the box and have a weight limit

    * Only external mods are those listed ie, mill for sights, barrels, grip tape/stipple, extended mag release, but not oversized etc.

    * gun must be safe and operable as per rule ...

then keep the 10 round mag limit and equipment position. All of this can easily be check by any competent RO/MD. Nice and simple and give an inclusive list of the allowed external mods and have at it.

I think it is funny that many of us expected a ruling that the dreaded nasty internal set screw was going to be outlawed, but we came out with this interpretation instead. Honestly what else could need to be adressed if you say have at the inside( anything you can not see when the gun is in battery) but the exterior is limited to XYZ ONLY?
