Just have your gunsmith use the ball detent for the racker and the problem is solved. Mine stay on and pop right out to field strip the gun. One of the best inventions ever.

I shoot with Ray and have seen and held it. That's what it is.

That's made by Jim Anglin of Sailors Customs.

And it was a fabulous match!! 6 stages and lots of shooting, these guys do a killer job setting up a monthly match and you can always count on plenty of top notch competition
We enjoy their matches so much I was up at 4am to make the ride (Fireant was driving...) and got home at 8:45pm, there was a stop at Dixie Crossroads for some Rock Shrimp involved in that trip though
A big +1 to that.

Ricky,
The MG 121 has been the most accurate bullet I have found. When you shoot as bad as I do every little bit helps.

70 plus shooters with only 5 stages/squads? Someone asked me for an idea on how to handle a club that has grown, really doubled in size. I was thinking and could not really come up with any good ideas other then to run a AM set of squads and then a PM set of squads. Do any of your clubs run 70 - 80 shooters through 5 stages in 4 hours or less?

That's no problem either.....just open up those pockets

My wife had me order my new open gun as soon as I got back from the Open nationals this year as my Christmas present. It was not quite finished, so I will have to wait to get it in my hands. I also got to spend Christmas day at our house with no plans at all of going any where.

How are the Schuemann Tribrid 2 barrel? it has six ports.
Ricky,
I keep telling you I have you all set-up.....just open that check book

A few of my favorite December things are being able to shoot in shorts, turning my air conditioner on and needing some sun screen

I live in the south for a reason. I like our 5-10 days of winter
I'll be reminded of that next week when I have to go to the frozen tundra to vist family.

LOL serenty now, I can just hear him screaming it from Seinfeld, too funny.

I really hate that the match that got me hooked into shooting so much has gone to hell. No matter what was going on my entire family knew not to schedule anything on that day of the month. Friends got married on that day and did not bother to invite our little group because they knew where we would be. It was worth the 180 mile round trip it takes me to get there.
Now I hate that my third Sat. of the month has suddenly opened up
Silly things really.
I hate matches that are glorified high round count shoot these from here and these from here matches. What the hell happened to free style?
I hate the stupid forbidden action rule and if you search my old posts you will see that I mention several times that any match I run will never have that rule used. I hate seeing that rule abused and missused(along with a couple of others) just to cover poor stage design. I hate seeing this (paraphrased since I don't have photographic memory) added to a stage briefing:
Penalties- 10 point penalty for not firing at least 1 round from the start position or at least 1 round from box A
Forbidden action- shooting all 16 rounds from the same spot your score will be a zero
Well which one is it?! it can't be both!
Then seeing this on the last line: ANY ACTION THAT IS NOT FOLLOWING THE INTENT OF THE STAGE WTF!
Now I have to be able to read minds and figure out the intent? Hell, I can't even remember to reload sometimes. Let alone read minds. Was I suppose to step off with the right foot or the left? Do I shoot them in tactical priority opps the match lasted so long I forgot which type of match I originally showed up for.
I hate spending 2.5 hours on one stage, that's right 2.5 hour's on one stage. It's bad leaving for a local match when it's dark and getting home when it's dark.
I really think there are more things I was thinking about adding, but I'm finally cooling off enough to just let them go and find my personal solution to the problem. I'll now just relax and start preparing for the first Sat. of the month to be my do not disturb day. Whew, I feel better now

I really like that it was 80+ degrees for today's match and it was a beautiful day and I was able to squad with some friends that I have not been able to shoot with for several months and.....continued in the hate forum

I have a Trojan with an S&A magwell and a caspian race ready single stack. I can reload the race ready caspian much faster. I think the only issue is making sure you get the weight down, but that is not hard at all.

Makes me glad I have SEVERAL FFL friends
Yep, same here. I think I'll buy him lunch after Saturdays match

Hey, your not just trying to get me out of open are you?
-
Yeah, I meant to change the file name.

Looks nice , What finish is that on the metal? looks like a black crome.
It's Matt Cheely's bluing job. I'm normally no fan of a blued gun, but the finish on this thing is the best blue I have ever seen.

A lot of it depends on the gun. In my 6" the 200's and Clays the front sight tracks so flat and true it is amazing, the gun doesn't hardly move at all. It is Open gun flat, and not sluggish at all. Bump firing it shows splits down as low as .05 seconds. With 180's it is a little sharper and a little more sight lift. With 165's the front sight track isn't much better than a normal well done 5" gun. I don't care for the 165 recoil at all.
I'm still tryng to find a load I like in mine. Howard, are you using cast, plated or jacketed bullets? What length and some school me more on the ins and outs of using Clays with heavy bullets. I've heard it is on the very edge pressure wise. Also, which way does it go as it gets hotter? Most of my shooting is done in 85+ degree weather.

Nice Ken and good turn around time also.

I'm not Ray, but yes Jim makes both the mag button and the slide stop rest. You can then grind it down to what ever shape you like.
