  1. 1301 Comp with about 3k rounds and zero issues so far, been a great gun.
  2. What is the general consensus for what weight for close 25y and in and longer, maybe out to 400y? ive been shooting cheap 55gr for the close up and 70gr for longer range. Really looking for the longer range ammo selection.
  3. +1 Live is that area as well and his calendar is a good start. Woodys is also a good spot!
  4. I have about 6 STI mags and 2 MBX mags, probably around 1k rounds total between all the mags and honestly I wouldn't be able to tell a difference while firing. The MBX mags do seem put together a little better though.
  5. Appreciate it, seemed like a cheap option to give shot. But looks like I'll steer clear
  6. They are from STI, but STI will DLC cost for around $300.
  7. I have an edge that I contemplated carrying for about 5 min. I love my edge and it's a reliable pistol, but a G43/Shield to me is much more practical
  8. Yea it's a low mass BCG and buffer. I am going to hit the range again soon to try a few things and see if I can get it "malfunction" again. If it does it again I will Call Geissele
  9. Not really, I have a JP barrel and gas block that is adjusted just over where it locks the bolt to the rear.
  10. I'm currently out of the country and didn't have chance to call them prior to leaving, that's on my to do list when I return.
  11. I'm currently out of the country so it will be a few weeks, but I'll keep you posted.
  12. +1 I have a Tikka CTR in .260 that I put a McMillian stock on it and it shoots amazingly. Accuracy is superb so even though I have the itch to put a custom barrel on it there really is no need until it is shot out. But when I do I'll have a semi custom rifle with no need at all to chafe the action. Im actually planning on picking up a few more Tikka actions to do the same, one to rebarrel in 6x47 Lapua, and 1 in 300 WM.
  13. Supposidly it offers the same advantages as a threaded Comp, but that's hard to believe. It's not too expensive so I will probably try it and post a report on it.
  14. I hold and shoot as you describe, but I've never tried that test. I will def try that... thank you!
  15. I haven't gotten around to reloading for this rifle yet, this is factory ammo. I have a buddy who also had the same thing happen and he switched it out for an AR Gold trigger and loves it.
  16. Looking to see if anyone in the audience has had any hands on experience with the Strike Industries G4 SlideComp? Does it just weigh down the muzzle or actually dispell gas? I've read some hype reviews but wondered who ownes one or has shot one. Thanks!
  17. Thanks, I'll give them a call. I'm running the heavier spring right now.
  18. I run an Impact Precision Brake and it works as advertised!
  19. I set if for approx the middle TGT and try not to have any scope shadow while engaging the others.
  20. So I'll start by saying I'm very partial to Tikka. Sub 1k - Tikka CTR in .260 or 6.5 CM This is a sub MOA rifle out of the box and offers most of the niceties of a custom action (Side bolt release, 70 degree throw, super smooth etc.). Comes with a DBM as well. And you can always upgrade later. 1k-2k - Tikka Tac A-1 This rifle comes ready to shoot from the factory with a nice chassis, adjustable stock, 20 MOA rail I believe, just need to add a bipod and your ready to rock. Same benifits in the action as the CTR. Check this one out. 2k+ - Custom Build Rifle. Short Action Customs, GAP, the choices are endless.
  21. Thanks for the NC advice! -- No this is the only forum with this handle.
  22. I am having issues with the Geissele Super Dynamic 3 Gun Trigger. When I start to pick up the pace on my trigger pull roughly every 10th pull or so it has a 3-5 round burst and sounds like it went full auto. Anyone else having this issue? Im thinking of getting a whole new trigger and just getting rid of this one. Any advice would be appreciated.
  23. I currently run flat but am thinking of switching to curved. I grew up with curved and that feels more natural.
