  1. Got me a new chrono. Will post new data and numbers soon....
  2. yeah I'm shooting the green cheap caldwell chrono. Did some more testing with lower powder charges, but the splatter still seemed excessive. See attached....
  3. Well it’s been shot before. And I feel loose plastic inside. But seems to be working….
  4. So I went to the range today and shot 9.4-9.8gr of AA7 through my Czechmate. Loaded to 1.165" with 124gr Everglades CMJ. Used a 9lb Spring. But I am confused by the results... What are your thoughts.. 9.4: PF 191, SD 19. 9.6: PF 178, SD 12 9.7: PF 177, SD 6 9.8: PF 175, SD 15 It seemed to me that the higher the powder charge, the softest it got in my hand, but the splatter increased with more powder. Should I lower the powder and start maybe at 9.1gr AA7 to see how the gas look like? Thinking this might be harder on the hand? Attached the splatter test
  5. Thanks. Will report later how it went when I get the powder…
  6. Zzt, bought some AA7. Should get here next week. Based on my video and your feedback, I’m gonna try 124s with AA7. I like loading to 1.165” but at what grains should I start? I’m thinking 9.2 to 9.8 of AA7. Thoughts?
  7. Your feedback is very valuable great sir. Thank you. Do you Recommend any replacement comps that would fit the Czechmate?
  8. Zzt, thanks for the feedback !! why a heavier recoil spring if the gun seems to be in battery? What do you estimate would happen with 115s and AA7? Thanks
  9. Loaded some 115s with 8.6-8.9 of HS6 with 7lbs recoil spring at 1.165" OAL with reamed barrel. Based on the powder splatter of the no-shoot white target, seems like all my loads were dirty which means I am over working the compensator. This might lead me to believe that I need to lower the powder charge below 8.6gr (lowest I shot). But, the string of 8.6grs yielded 166PF. So I can't go any lower or I'll loose the Major. 8.8grs seemed the best on recoil and my wrist (175 PF). So if I understand correctly, I would have to increase my load from 9grs to maybe 9.5grs to probably shoot the flattest, but I would venture to say this would almost take me to like 180-185PF and lots more of gasses and splatter coming out of comp. Attached video of my testing. Please share thoughts..... Also ordered AA7 to give it a try and compared results to HS6
  10. Ok. Just got the Holosun 510c and the 65 moa circle is perfect. And because it’s bigger I can actually see a circle and not a fuzzy tiny dot.
  11. Mlussoro, I am developing a load with cmj 115s and hs6. Staring at 8.6gr and going up to 8.9gr. I have a 9lb spring right now but will try a 7 and 8 to see which is is flatter. I’m considering maybe switching to aa7 powder if hs6 splatter is too dirty. Thoughts?
  12. So I went to the Florida open….. Don’t get me started. Fee was $220. A bit steep im told, but Ok. It was my first match outside of my club but it was still a Level 1. The match description on their website said lunch would be provided and that it would be a 2-day match. So, wanting to get more info such as how many rounds to take and general questions I had, contacted the match director and that’s when I find out it was only one day. Ok no biggie bc I was local. But what about those who traveled by air expecting 2 days…. But I digress. Then come to find out, lunch was only for match staff… I guess my general feel for “shooting” part of the the experience was great. But the admin and info dissemination was horrible. Their website still has old information. Oh, and Ask me if I’ve been able to purchase the match jersey supposedly available on Techwear?? Yup, you guessed it. Another mess.
  13. Duke, that link explained it perfectly. Thanks. Now I know how to proceed
  14. Ok call me dumb, but what splatter are we talking about? This is what I’m interpreting, you shoot your string of same powder weight on the white cardboard, then as you continue you observe gasses on the white board?
  15. Zzt, can you explain you shooting into the white no shoot target process? Not sure I follow
  16. It’s just too small. I’ll need glasses soon I think
  17. I've developed loads many times, but something always goes wrong: run out of rounds, unable to get reliable chronos, etc. I tend to reload about 25 of each load, shoot like 5 out the chrono and then decide on recoil spring based on feel. But seems to me like I'm doing something wrong. I never get to that perfect backwards recoil instead of up/down. My question is: which order do you follow when developing a load? How many rounds do you reload and when do you decide on the recoil spring. When testing rounds, do you look for dot rise and acquisition IOT select recoil springs? House keeping: I have a CZ Czechmate open gun. I am trying to switch from 124s to 115s. Being looking at starting at 8.5-8.8gr of HS6. Got 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 recoil springs to test. Last match I shot 8.1 HS6 under a 124g CMJ at 1.135-1.139" OAL but the recoil and dot acquisition was bad. This new test will be with a new reamed barrel and load to 1.165". Hopefully I'm making sense.
  18. The dot seems small and with added sun is difficult to acquire fast
  19. Has anyone tried the Holosun HS510c with the HM3X magnifier for steel challenge on a 9mm carbine? Shot a match this past week end with a Romeo 2MOA and couldn’t see Jack s. Thinking this may be an option or a c more slide rail with a 12 MOA. Thoughts?
