  1. Does anyone know if the SPS Vista grip/ mainspring housing is interchangable with a STI plastic grip and 2011msh?
  2. 1363 low,1373 high for 5 shots. Similar consistency in other loads working up to 168 pf.
  3. Thanks for the response. Good to know it's not just my batch. It does fall apart and not stay clumped. It meters very easily. During Chrono the standard deviation was probably the lowest with velocity most consistent of any power I ever used.
  4. Okay so back to the original intent of my op here regarding Major pistol powder in 38super. I finally got a chance to try some of this powder out. 5"bbl (4)popple holes,Brazos comp. 10.6 grains powder,CCI pistol primers, Precision Delta124gr hp,1.215 oal. Temp was 44F. The combination above yeilded 168pf. Seems clean and very trackable. When I get an opportunity I will compare to the same power factor with my 3n38 loads. Just didn't have time before dark today. Something I noticed is there was a fair amount of caking when I went to pour the powder out. It fell apart very easily and didn't stay clumped up. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this with the very fine powder.
  5. Thanks for the feedback. Yes Cmore and Leupold make an adapter specifically for each of their own red dots. I was hoping to find a universal version that would allow the mounting from several different footprints of different manufacturers such as the one Outerlimit makes for the dovetail version of the M&P. I contacted them and they said it is something they are considering doing for the CORE but have not yet produced.
  6. It was $341.00 including shipping. From pictures I've seen glass appears to be a little taller and more squared-off than the rts2 not as wide as the XL however.. When I get it and after some use hopefully I'll have some good experiences to report back with.
  7. Thanks for the reply. No specific concerns just the fact that they are new and don't have a big name behind them like Sig Etc. If the quality is the same as a Romeo with the same features though it will most certainly be a very good deal.
  8. Sure.....welcome to open LOL! I agree though, would be nice. Heck they're even doing it in IDPA
  9. So I have one of these (8moa)coming hopefully in about a week. It seemed to be a very good price during a Black Friday sale for the features and the fact that I believe it's built in the same Japanese manufacturing facility as the Sig Romeo3XL/Max. Supposedly the more advanced circuitry ,coating/lens, and moc features. Does anyone have one of these to compare it to the current popular quality dots on the market? Fwiw I will be happy to report here to compare it with an RTs2, cmore Slideride, romeo3 Etc once I get it in hand and put some rounds down range with it on my open pistol.
  10. Hello M&P CORE owners. Does anyone know of an adapter mount that allows the mounting of various optics that won't fit in the factory cut out such as Delta Pro Point,Rts2/Romeo and others? Outer Limits makes one for a dovetail but not CORE plate profile.
  11. Yeah I got the Cheely on order. I installed a new STI fps in that was in the parts box.Much tighter fit and so far no marks on the underside bottom. (Black oxide part so would show quickly)Rounded profile and lower hammer contact point than Cheely and original so probably not best shape for Open.
  12. Thanks for the input guys. I will order one up from Cheely and start with that as hopefully a remedy. I don't see them giving options for caliber. I'm hoping the one they sell will obviously provide clearance for a 9/38 Super extractor.
  13. At rest no. If I push down on it there is enough give where it would stand proud of the bottom of the slide. That's why I was wondering if when the hammer strikes it it forces it downward and upon firing is creating these peening marks when retracting rearwards. It is only happening on the right side
  14. Hello shooters. I noticed when cleaning my open pistol there seems to be some peening marks on the top of the frame where the right side of the firing pin stop rests while in battery. Taking the firing pin stop out I can see that the right side bottom is starting to deform confirming that this is what is contacting and peening the frame. I purchased this pistol used and have put about 4,000 rounds on it but have not noticed this until now. Not sure if it's happening when the hammer strikes the firing pin stop and drives it down or perhaps it is influenced after I put in a Dawson extended firing pin. I will admit that the firing pin stop could be tighter but is not excessively loose and I have not seen this on my other 1911 pistols. To anyone who has experienced this or especially has experience and remedied this I would greatly appreciate your input ,thank you.
  15. Looking up info & topics in Carry Optics leads to a hybrid search in Production and Open, neither of which is comprehensive of CO. IMO Carry Optics interests would benefit from it's own forum. What is the protocol to petition for it?
  16. Very trackable straight up and down dot movement and not much of it
  17. Yes. That type of squeezing pressure along with medium but not Overkill on the thumb rest pushing somewhat forward and down gave me very positive results also.
  18. I would have thought so also until I saw noticeable, repeatable differences depending on the amount and direction of pressure used
  19. Did you order the spring kit stand-alone and got free shipping or was it combined with other items? Thanks
  20. I have been experimenting more not only the amount of pressure used on my RHT thumb rest but the type (ex. forward vs downward or a combination). My own standard test is 5 shot drills into the head box at 20 yards quick as possible. I have noticed with a squeezing grip pressure in the support hand the amount and type of pressure used on the thumb rest has a very big influence on dot movement and tracking. Still trying to formulate the best method so I can ingrain it during dry fire. Has anyone else experimented with this and come up with their own results? Thanks.
  21. Will a new battery keep full brightness during a 6+- hour match before any noticeable drop in intensity?
  22. I would like to try one but can't understand why they can't make a $400.00+ optic hold up. I have 3 cheap Burris Fastfires each on a slide mounted application and no issues through thousands of rounds.
