  1. Do you like the TC profile better than round nose?
  2. Nice. So you adjust the extractor to fit the super comp and apparently the 38super rims do not have a problem sliding up underneath the hook/claw and against the breech face. I like your method for determining adjustment tension, seems more controlled than the "shake 3 times to see if case doesn't fall out"
  3. I'm hoping someone could give insight on the elevation tension as well, reason for my op.
  4. Thanks. Could you elaborate on how you adjust the springs for 38 super vs super comp?
  5. Hello. Does anyone have recommendations setting up one extractor for shooting 38super and super comp in a 38super barrel open pistol? Thanks
  6. Did you try the 125 round nose .356 in 9 major? I'm also trying to determine which profile is going to be best for loading 9 major, the RN or the TC.
  7. Hmmmm. That doesn't sound impressive. Maybe that's a reason I have heard the.356 is used by some Open shooters.
  8. Hello shooters. I'm going to be developing a 9major load and once my barrel is lapped in with jacketed I may look to try 125 RN Blue Bullets since I have heard positive reports of their use as an option in Open. They offer .356 and .355 diameters. Does anyone have experiences to determine a preference and why? Thanks
  9. Thanks for the detailed info. I will check these points and if all looks good run another match (since I've only noticed the follow at my last 2 matches) before changing the sear spring.
  10. I appreciate you checking. I did take the plate off of a first-generation Romeo 3 I have but that arrangement is different since it has a lock screw externally. Perhaps the plate you're talking about puts tension upwards on the elevation adjustment screw.I noticed it did seem to have a bend in it that gets forced upwards when the two screws that mount it get installed.
  11. Did you happen to take note if there was any similar fix for elevation?
  12. Yep, this is the video I was referencing regarding the subject. I'm going to try to contact the fella and see if he recognized any tension adjustment for elevation in the same manner in case it becomes an issue.
  13. Hello shooters. So I just received a new Sig Romeo 3 XL and it looks to be a promising optic. Have not got a chance to mount and try it yet but I do have a concern. It seems the windage adjustment has very faint clicks and the elevation clicks is hardly existing. I viewed a YouTube video where a fella who unsuccessfully sent it back to sig with this issue, and not holding windage, was returned to him with nothing done. He apparently took the base plate off and found a means to tighten the clicks for windage. Wondering if anybody else has come across this and I'm certainly not looking to fix something that isn't broke. Thanks for any shared experiences.
  14. I received two EGW evolved sear springs. Going to clean everything up, re tighten the grip screws, check everything over and reassemble with a properly tensioned new EGW sear. spring. We'll also make sure proper trigger pre and over travel has not changed
  15. Hello. After experiencing hammerfollow at my last match on three of the last 10 stages I have been doing some research into what may cause it and came across this thread. This only happens during live fire and cannot replicate it any other time. It is a 2011 open pistol with a DVC style plastic grip. Grip screws were loose. I snugged them up but haven't had a chance to look into anything else yet. Could you please describe where I would peen the bottom of the sear spring to prevent movement and play? Thanks
  16. I appreciate everybody's replies. Never even thought about the grip influencing things. I think I'm going to tear it down, clean everything up, look for even wear on the hooks and sear, put a little more tension on the sear spring and make sure the grip screws are snugged to where they should be.(with a little vibra-tite) We'll see what happens from there... If there are any other suggestions I'm definitely all ears, thanks.
  17. I just checked the grip screws. it took a heavy half turn on the left side and almost one full turn on the right side to snug them up. Grip is a factory DVC so it was done professionally but yes is thinner all the way around so easier to compress with a hard grip squeeze.
  18. Interesting.... Yes it's a plastic , narrowed DVC STI plastic grip. And I do grip hard.
  19. If the hammer hook/sear engagement was that slight wouldn't dropping the slide on empty chamber 3x,then engaging safety and pulling on trigger then disengaging safety drop the hammer?
  20. Not sure if down all the way or at halfcock. It happened each time on the clock so didn't analyze all the details. I had to rack the slide to get back to going. Each time a loaded round was ejected. No light primer strikes on retrieved rounds so I know the hammer didn't fall with the trigger pulled.
  21. Thanks for the reply. I'm figuring that's the direction I may need to go just wondering if there's something else I'm overlooking before I readjust the spring tension. I believe I have enough pre-and overtravel in the trigger but I'll make sure that didn't change adjustment either.
