  1. My as delivered stock 2 trigger could have been used for grip strength training! Something like 12-13# with more grit than the Sahara. For the $$$$, they should spend an hour polishing up the moving bits.
  2. I giggled when I read the last sentence in the linked article. Yeah. 180 is as light as I go. Still, the effects of loading too short can ruin a good pair of bvd's, if you go crazy.
  3. Got the mags today and they look to be as close to brand new as possible. I think one, possibly two were ever used or even inserted. That's the good news. Bad news is they are the OLD style mag (marked 38 SA) with the red follower. Ran a couple of them with 12-13 rounds and I'm gettng nose dives. I compared the springs to K9 spring and they are both shorter and have slightly smaller wire. Will the nose dive issue be helped by "+ power" wolff springs?
  4. Fiber front sight. I like dawson .100 wide and .160 tall. But I put the dot on bullseye. Oh, ammo. They just eat it up!
  5. I used to have a link to a study on 40sw with reducing oal. Pressure DOES NOT react linearly to linear changes in oal. In the study a change from 1.050" to 1.000" increased pressure by (from memory!) nearly double to 125,000psi. Can you say, "kaboom"? Narurally, it depends on the powder, bullet, crimp, etc, etc.... but outside of the operational space, small changes in a variable like bullet depth can DRASTICALLY change an output like pressure. I think this is the link .... http://greent.com/40Page/ammo/40/180gr.htm
  6. 10,000 rounds costs MORE than the gun! Polishing (diy) is basically free and only takes a bit of time. Plus, it shoots much nicer from the get go.
  7. I like messing w equipment nearly as much as shooting
  8. Take out the plunger that lifts the trigger bow. Disassemble it and polish ALL of it, including the inside of the hole in the head and yhen polish the hole in the frame. The top of the plunger and the mating slot in the trigger bow should be mirror bright and have no discontinuities. One of mine had a ridge that needed major love to smooth out! Polish the hole in the frame for the hammer spring. Assemble and test trigger feel with each component added. You may have missed a polishing point. I polished three times to get to where I was happy, but I go minimalist on polishing and would rather redo thsn overdo.
  9. So full polished s2 with springs is better ? Or just as good?
  10. Issues? What kind? My LP needed the breech face and extractor polished initially as it would hang w a round 3/4 in.
  11. Yep, not quite a year old S2 in large frame.
  12. That's not the guns fault....is the hole in your wallet. I tried to block the hole with ammo purchases, but it just gets worse! Lol
  13. One thing wrong with that gun.... I got no mo money!
  14. Guy selling stuff on GB. He had 5 for $50 buy it now....I did.
  15. I tried clicky springs, found a "stiff" one, but even that gave a mushy indistinct reset. Finally settled on the factory spring wuth 2 coils cut. The minor reduction in weight wasn't worth the loss of reset.
  16. S2 ...Stock 2.Thanks for the reply Bamboo, I'll see about picking them up! Yep, $57 for 5 mag, done deal.
  17. That's what I found too. Little difference between the two, especially at my level. They both shoot to the same point, both feel good in hand, etc.
  18. Can you interchangeably and with reliability, feed a 9mm s2 from 38 super mags? Seems I know a guy with some... Thanks!
  19. Have lim pro and s2. The lp is growing on me, but my kid has it set up for him now (lefty). I may never get to shoot it again.
  20. As long as you get the small frame sear cage, it should all drop in. But watch the youtube vids on how to assemble, it's a pita the first time.
  21. I would first off change the 12# recoil spring to an 8# or 9#. I would choose 8# for 9mm minor. Making sure it's for 4.5" model and not long slide. Next, the ejector leg looks like it has been shortened. That's a trick to calm down ejection velocity. There is a guy on eBay selling sear housings for like 20-25$, last time I looked. Just my two cents.
  22. Looks like I am sticking with a 10#. I've switched to 165s. Springs are cheap. Might want to experiment.
  23. Run a 8# and it should run pretty flat, but you might like 9# as it's more "snappy". I like the 8. I run the 8 in a s2 - 40 and in a Match (longslide like the lim pro)
  24. I did 3 Dawson sights yesterday. Two S2's and a lim pro all the set screw divots were there, NOT drilled out all the way. Interestingly, one went in hard and the other two were pretty loose. Dab of "glue", hope they hold.
