I'm glad to see another cz fan has joined the forum and since you are south of the mason-dixon, and myself, just north, in York, our paths may cross someday. Good forum with good info.
Probably would be helpful and interesting for most of us, with age only indirectly related, to learn the best muscle conditioning routines for both handguns and full stock guns.
To me, 3 gun should be the way to go if you are of the age and physical condition that does not hinder your ability to be competitive. At at my age 1 gun is all I can manage and still feel somewhat successful with.
I, for one, and I'm sure others on this forum, are, or could be, envious of your training and background. Everyone with an interest in firearms, could benefit greatly with a little more knowledge of firearms and their place in the '21st' century and I believe this is some of your goal. Continue your good work.
Having bought used 550b loader and numerous accessories, I have both the old style and new powder reservoirs and both types of linkage seem to work with correct actuator rods. Upgrading the older ones costs $40 +. Are they worth the upgrade for powder drop accuracy, or ?
How close are you to West Monroe? You can get a lot of pistol info, mainly cz, from Cajun Gunworks located there. Great state also, love the spanish moss in some of the state parks.
A lot of us have the same feeling--wish I had started many years before-- however, never too late and we all find out soon that this is the second best place to be-- the first is on a range-- shooting.
Never too old to enjoy a hobby in my opinion. Just turned 72 and looking forward to some steel plate again this year. Do what you can, as long as you can--my philosophy.
Just wait until you get the very 'contageous' ??-- that a lot of us have on this site of needing more than 'one' handgun. Believe it or not, it happens frequently on here. I guess it's all the collective information from this forum that continues to multiply inside us!!
Sounds like a great place to get in many different shooting venues. Right? we're 'frozen in' here in the East. Great forum, great place to 'gather' during the idle time for us.
Gunsmithing is a part of many of us on this forum, I would think. I'm interested in the kinds of pistol shooting, popular there. Your shooting interests also. Lon
Interesting how you say you have used this forum in the past, but I can see where this is the place to gather 'tech info' from the most knowledgable sources on line. You are noy alone, doing this.
It's very pleasing for myself, a vet, to find out that our newer generation of military personnel, do in fact have similar values and a dedication to uphold our constitution. I have always been an advocate of some form of military orientation for every citizen of this great United States. I know I am in a very low minority with this idea, however, DB, I believe you would have many more active comrades with similiar ideals and dedication. Thanks you.
I'm curious how you can use the same gun for 3-gun and to hunt with. Just plug the mag ? -or can you change the mag tube? Any other changes necessary /
Just getting into steel plate and looking for the other venues-probably not 3 gun, but I can't seem to find much in S.central PA.--York area. How far do I have to go for some 'fun' ?
A return 'hello' from cent. PA. where we have little snow but lots of cold and wind. We always have 'Three Mile Island' closeby, to keep us warm.... winter and summer !!
Wish I were there for another month or so and away from the snow and cold here in Cent. Penna. No shooting around here now, except for a little indoor practice. Sounds like fun to have your own USPSA league.
