  1. Hey Corey---Lon from York. Finally located another keystoner on this forum. A retired trapshooter, and now playing with steel plate with cz's. South cent. Pa. probably not as active as your area for pistol. Would like to try IDPA if I find a few local comps. Hope to see you around....
  2. No, a long way off in PA, but would like to hear what kind of hardware you are shooting. Any reloading and cal ? Myself, also a vet and recently active in pistol shooting. Great sport!
  3. How about info on the equipment you use-- how long you been shooting, etc...
  4. Nothing wrong with punching holes in paper indoors----this time of the year. If you're like me--winter can't end too soon. Reload now and get ready for the outdoors fun.
  5. I'm glad to see another cz fan. I'm curious how you compare the three ---you have a favorite?
  6. Guess you're doing all your shooting indoors right now. I'm doing the same here in PA and it is 25 degrees warmer. This forum is a great place to spend a cold winter's eve. discussing----? whatever interests you. Hope you enjoy..
  7. Welcome, and I'll be interested in the responses you get because I am a cz fan. Great forum to be a part of..
  8. 'Us poor eastern folk' have to poke along with a 550b, collect our minutes and an occasional hour if we are lucky to find it, and, well, really enjoy every bit of the time we find to reload.---helps being retired, too!-------------wish I had a 1050 !
  9. Exciting having the opposite sex on 'our side' for a change. I know many women do compete in shooting sports, however, seems to me that very few do join forums. The forums that Brian Enos has created should appeal to all ages and both genders.
  10. Word to the wise---- save a little time out of each day (really ,as much as you can find) and search the forum for that one new concept or defining answer that has been eluding you for years. It is here.
  11. Just joined IDPA and hope to shoot comp- this year. Started in steel plate and still enjoy that also. Glad you are aboard here. Look forward to conversing IDPA.
  12. Great fun and actually very good practice. I also have started steel plate. Curious about your weapon of choice for this event. I have seen lots of 9's, fewer 40's, and then 45's.
  13. Great place to do all of that-- I recently joined IDPA and doing more reloading then ever with a dillon 550b. Already have gotten good info with press setup here.
  14. If I may----a bit of trivial info from a 40 + year reloader-- set time aside so as to be able to --completely concentrate on the task at hand--. By the way-- I'm still learning. Do enjoy this great forum.
  15. Just as the brief u-tube video showed-- was my same problem. I just fixed it yesterday by loosening the ram mount plate (I call it that) and moving radially with the clearance in the two countersunk hold-down screws--enough to realign all the stations. Next, realigning the primer slide was very necessary. Finally there. Thanks for your input.
  16. Being 'old-fashioned', I started with a rcbs jr. 40some years back. Still like sgl. stage for rifle, but the 550b has 'revolutionized my 9mm & 45 reloading. Might consider a 650 someday.Glad you joined us.
  17. Nothing like a good hobby especially one in shooting, no matter what the event!
  18. Great place to pass the time whether you have it --or not. Being retired helps too .
  19. Need a few tips from you on on what to say or do for your wife to buy you that type of Christmas gift !!! Anyway, welcome and good luck in 2015.
  20. Sounds familiar--have shot smiths & colts for over 40 years (no handgun with the 'silk' of a Python), however to compete I have picked up a couple of CZ's and time marches on. Enjoy this forum..
  21. Your collection extends beyond mine, but I can relate. I used to shoot trap and had a citori, also Rem 700's--223, 22-250 and several handguns and rifles and reloaded for all. Still shoot some and am trying steel plate with 2 cz's--9mm & 45. Been reloading for 40 years. Still enjoy even more now that I am retiired. Fond memories of hunting ducks near Alexandria, LA when I was stationed at England AFB --back in 1967. Glad you are here on a great forum.
  22. Another cz shooter--welcome aboard! Any chance Cajun Gun Works has gone over your cz ? I have an 85 combat & 97 I am working up for steel plate. CGW has helped to make both 'dream machines'.
  23. Glad to have U onboard. I've been reloading rifle, shotgun, and pistol for 40 + years, and still learning. when I stop learning--I stop reloading.
  24. The circumstances for me---I bought a slightly used 550b on armslist--all signs point to the light use, however, numerous calibers were setup and most not even used--my belief now is that the former owner tried to do some rifle reloading since I had --308, 3006,44mag, 357mag, & one or two other die plates and powder tube sets. His results might have been less than ideal, and he sold out. ---I did make ( slide fit ) locater pins for the die plate and the results were much worse. Guess I am not accustomed to such liberal tolerances just to make a 'machine ' function properly. Dillon dies also promote the large chamfer on the sizing die for easier feed. Bet that was an after thought--fix!
  25. Fairly new to dillon 550b reloading, but being a retired machinist and used to working to close tolerances, I have a hard time accepting the less than accurate die to turret alignment. Is this the standard you need to accept for 'production' reloading presses??
