  1. Hey thanks guys. Good to know it’s not an issue. It’s nice having long range at home it’s been the weak point of my game for a while now.
  2. I am set up a rifle range at home that can go out to 400yds. To do his I had to build a little tower it’s pretty hilly. I am wondering if I zero at 200 yds off the tower so I am about 6’ above the target. Is that not going to work well because I am shooting with the bullet drop. If I shoot 200 yds on a level plane will the bullet be way low.
  3. The honcho looks sweet and I am considering just saving longer for it. I wish they offered it without the open stuff just a 9 and 40 setup. That’s just because I am cheap though.
  4. That set up is basically exactly what I had in mind.
  5. Sorry if this has been asked before didn’t see it in a search. Can you get a 40 or a 9 2011 and get another top end in the opposite caliber and switch back and forth. The only thing I can think would be different is the ejector might be different. Would wear of shooting one more then the other be an issue. Looking to have a 3gun/ limited pistol. 9 being the one that would be shot the most.
  6. Does everyone think the steel grips are still the way to go shooting 9mm or does it not matter as much with minor ammo?
  7. You guys are not making this a cut and dry decision. The reliability issues scare me I have never had issues with my ar types they just run. I feel like I can split pretty fast with the ar types so I don’t know if I’ll gain anything there. Spending a bunch of extra money to lighten them up sucks too. But they still look so cool when people shoot them and they just don’t move.
  8. I was looking at building another Ar type pcc, but I found a decent deal on a used mpx. I have always kinda wanted one just a little leery have seen some not run. Just wondering if anyone has gone from Ar type to mpx and thought it was the greatest thing and wouldn’t go back. Or has anyone gone from mpx to Ar type and thought not dealing with that anymore. Are mags an issue getting them to work with extensions.
  9. I could but it’s not worth it switching back and for every week. My idea was if it doesn’t move it’s not a strap it’s a fixed part of the holster.
  10. I still use it for 3 gun so I want the pin removable. I just don’t practice starts with the hood up because the only time I use the hood is after running, and transitioning from another gun. I practice draws on the beep with the hood down.
  11. With talk about the retaining strap rule on here. I was wondering if a person drilled a small hole through the strap and holster and put a roll pin in so that the strap could no longer move. On my g code this could be done pretty easily and would be pretty stout. Could you say that it’s no longer a strap it’s a rear sight guard. Limited is pretty open on everything else in regards to holters. So I took a retaintion holster and modified it to protect my rear sight.
  12. I have a psa now with over 20,000 on it and it’s works awesome. All of the set screws that hold everything in place come lose with x number of rounds. Blue loctite doesn’t help don’t want to use red. I just check all of them and tighten them before a match and am always good to go. That was my first one and I cheaped out on most of it before I knew if I was going or take this seriously. Not looking for features don’t want lrbho I just want it to work and be able to get parts if I need them.
  13. I am building a new pcc. I am really all in and figured I should have two. I am just wonder what everyone thinks is the best lower out there to start a build on right now.
  14. Lol... I know the rules need to be inforced, the way some people enforce them is what I have a problem with. I actually heard an RO tell some one “put your gun away and go home”. That’s not the way dqing someone should be handled.
  15. I get its a rule and needs to be inforced. You just don’t need some crabby ro yelling across the range and belittling people for not knowing the all the rules. Everyone should know basic gun handling and not to break 180 etc. I have seen a lot of shooters show up for the first time only to have pointless rules like this get them yelled at and you never see them again. I think coming from 3 gun all these little nuisance rules are hard to grasp.
  16. I just posted about this last week in the uspsa shooting section. It seemed like I was the only one that thought this way, I am glad more people agree with me. I started in 3 gun and didn’t shoot a uspsa match till after almost two years. It’s rules like this and the way some RO’s are about inforcing them that make me wonder about shooting it sometimes.
  17. I get it I was just venting about it I guess. I started in 3 gun and didn’t shoot a uspsa match till after almost two years of shooting. So when people tell me that it’s a rule the hood has to be up I am surprised. Don’t get me wrong I like uspsa a lot now, it’s just an adjustment from outlaw 3 gun matches.
  18. If I use my 3 gun rig I am required to put the hood up? How is this fair vs a race holster you can leave unlocked. If I call it a lock and not a retention hood then I can leave it down? I leave it down on 3 gun stages that start pistol first. I know I can get another holster it just seems stupid to have to put the hood up.
  19. Is there any magazine extensions out there that will fit these? They look fun to play with but I want to be able to shoot it for 3 gun too.
  20. Hey checking back in took some advice off of here zeroed at 300 last week. It worked good spent the last three days shooting the tri gun. Skinny Sammy’s at fifty were no problem held a little high at 360 and got my hits. Missed a 2 200 but it was my fault not getting into a good position. I only take two shoots and move on it’s only 5 seconds for ftn. Everything worked good managed eighth place. I think I am gonna keep playing limited liking it better then tac ops so far.
  21. I shot it with 1-4 and it seemed fine. I always just sighted at 50 and went with it. It always hit steel, I never put it on paper at different distances and saw what it was doing though. What do you mean by not true? Like the rail not being square with the rest of it?
  22. I just got a spitfire zeroed it at fifty yards went to my 200 plate and nothing. So I went back to a fifty yard target and it was right there with the other ones. In about an 1 1/2” circle. Back to the 200 plate nothing. I go put it on paper at 100 and it’s 2” high and 2” left zero it and I can hit all my plates at home. My question is can there be that much parallax what am I doing wrong. I like the 50 200ish zero works good here with nothing past 400.
  23. The offset dot is for hard leans. I think Josh froelich has a video floating around somewhere where breaks it down. He runs two dots on his open shotgun too. I also run a green laser someone on Facebook pointed me to the ade green laser off amazon. It’s been awesome for nine months now. Way bright indoors you can see it outdoors but it’s hard in full sunlight. It’s only forty bucks too so awesome. Some on the Facebook thread said the green ones from China that are brighter actually emit more radiation the is allowed, I don’t know how much that matters don’t stare into the beam.
  24. I don't have a taccom bolt. I have a discontinued kaw valley bolt, so I have been looking at the taccoms to replace mine when it goes down. I guess I am curious how grinding down some of the pin fixes light strike? How is everyone liking the taccom bolts beside the firing pin issues that seem to plague everyone regardless of bolt?
