  20. Wooo, Wooo, Wooo, I am not suggesting that I am changing my gun. My " trick of the day " days are over. I am happy with how my gun works for me, and I have run hundreds of drills, with hundreds of different combinations, to see what appears to work best for me. Deep down inside, I believe that a solid 686 is still a formidable choice for a match revolver, however, I , like so many of us love the extra rounds that an 8 shot can provide. I went to a super for the " quicker " reload, and yet when I shoot my old V Comp, the reloads seem to be the same. At my size, I should be able to muscle a cannon. I can't see me changing my gun now, it is producing solid results, and I am lazy. This is merely an opportunity to see what science says about ports. It could be a useful tool for the slightly built shooters out there, who can't eat a full rack of ribs, and then look for ice cream. I have a dream......alright, I am off track, but this is just for kicks. As for you Dave.....95 pf steel loads, and you used to shoot pins...... On Outer Limits, does the stop plate clang before the back right plate? I do like the sound of the 150rn.......After I get an initial list ,I will send you what we have, and between us we can fill in the gaps. Bear in mind, I wasn't planning on test 1000's of loads. keep em coming guys....... Mark
  21. Hi Guys, I know I have asked this before, but I can't remember the response. Where are there any matches or people practising around Louisville for the Bianchi Cup ( with a mover ). This will be my first year, and I don't want to go in without any idea of what I am doing. I get a litle lost after load and make ready...... I don't know the times etc etc.... thanks Mark
  22. Hi guys...... SFLR has responded to the call for a rest, thanks to those who also offered. IPSC major loads can be added to the list....No problem, and please remember, we all have opinions on this whole muzzle flip thing, and those of you that have shot with me, and seen my gun, know where my heart lies, however, I have never actually tested it, with scientific controls and chronographic data to support it. I too will remain open minded, and let the data speak for itself......Remember....it's just like mybusters.......except we won't blow up Bubbers gun...... We have all shot with people that are for and against, so lets see what science can bring to the discussion. P.S. Sorry Mike, but I think that Doug sold your ransom rest on E bay.......Jokes, just jokes.
  23. Hi all, Yes I know, we have flogged this horse before, so in a Mythbusters style test....lets prove it, once and for all. I have my own opinion on porting, and good friend and shooting nemesis, " Bubber " and I conspired to finally put this puppy to bed. Unlike mythbusters, we won't be blowing the gun up at the end of the test, and I have no lusty assistants to help. What we do have though, is an 8 shot N frame Smith with many ports in it. These ports have all been plugged, allowing us to add or remove ports in any sequence to test different theorys. The purpose of this test is designed for ICORE loads 125ish PF. I will load test ammo and do the testing and measure muzzle flip as it relates to a fixed position. This is the only accurate way to test the function of porting in this application. Recoil is a feeling, and unable to be recorded. So, we have a gun, a loader, lots of different bullets and powders, all we need now is ransom rest with N frame inserts. Would any one like to lend us one, to perform these tests. It would only be needed for a 2 week period, probably in late April. Oh, and the best part is Enos Forum guys can suggest the loads. As the request come in I will load the ammo, and include it in a spreadsheet of results, which will be available before the Bianchi Cup.....That's when bubber wants his gun back. So let the requests come rolling in......Loads will be accepted up to April 20th, and results should be done by 1st week in May... Mark
