Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Is there a reason why the Cmore side mounts are always put on the left side of the frames? I have also seen the same thing on the revolver mounts. Thanks in advance for any inputs. Art Mc
  2. In addition to what Doug commented, I found that at about every 500 rounds or so the .22 chambers are gummed up. Use JB bore and use a good brass brush and chuck up in a power drill. Only work the chamber area. Be sure to clean out the JB. .22's build up a shellac that is pretty tough. Simple cleaning solutions aren't strong enough. Hopes this helps, .22's build up a lot gunk. art mc.
  3. I have a love hate relationship with far and near. But strongly recommend if you only can practice one stage this it. Has everything but movement. Since accuracy is so important as stated above and has a lot of the revolver shooting elements. art mc
  4. If you can get one with the eye cam they're great. It shows the shot looking down the barrel. Sunrise Productions uses one. art mc
  5. Nice work and a big thanks for the dimensions layout. art mc
  6. On past guns I bobbed the hammers. But I thought that losing hammer weight would had a negative effect. Thanks for the replies. You guys are great. Many Thanks art mc
  7. I know this has been covered. What's the verdict on hammer bobbing on a model 617. Thanks in advance for any input. art mc
  8. If your shooting a S&W Classic or pinned model use Toolguys rear blade with a .100 optic. He also makes a pinned model Check out his web here. I installed one in a buddies gun and even with poor eyesight works great.
  9. Check chamber length. Take a new brass drop into chamber. The head should be a little shorter than the hood. I always cut chamber a tad longer for the reason especially if shooting lead bullets. Hope this helps. art
  10. I shoot an open 8 shot. ICORE paper stages I usually break everything in 6 shot arrays, it's just easier to keep on track and prevents standing reloads. 8 shot's do have an advantage on steel stages such as the star. Just my opinion. If your are moving most likely will be reloading.
  11. Heavier bullets going slower, better recoil, no leading and great accuracy.
  12. Warren The yoke is messed up where the detent ball goes. Just trying to replace it for a guy. art
  13. Toolguy Which old screw? Also, I have a yoke that has no machining around the bottom rod area that mates to the frame. Any idea what model series that fits and is there any way to machine this? Thanks for your help. art mc.
  14. Can you use the new style yoke screw with the plunger with the old style yoke with the slot? Old yoke screws are smaller diameter. Trying to fit to a 686-3 model. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Art Mc
  15. Thanks for the helpful replies. art mc
