    Women Over 40

Man, man thank you for posting this, but boy, the last sentence made me laugh so badly.
  2. Werd. That's it. We already have 2 marketing person lined up. Thanks for the tips!
  3. Ashots GREAT!!! Please stay tued for the sub-forum comming on this forum for us, women shooters. We are preparing to set up a webpage for us too. Same as you, I improved alot. its not that Kay, Lisa, julie taught us anything special. Just basics. BUT it got soaked up so much easier. EVERYBODY improved significantly hour by hour. I think its much because its naturing environment. We don't have to worry about what other guys think or feeling like being on display. Also, communication method was the key. I hate to say but it was so obvious we women communicate/teach and being taught differently. For instance, I have heard "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" maybe 100 times! But it never registered. Then at the camp, we women do this unison "Smooooooooooooooth" with both arms infront of us palm down, extending gradually like very first part of breast stroke, and laugh. NOW, this FEELING of "smoooooth" got registered so much better and it stays! I already paid deposit for April one. Join us again!! Steve I am from Japan. I hated gun and arms with passion. But when I did group sohoting fist time about 2 years ago, it all changed. Yes, gun was the sybol of violence, violence=bad. We women become victim of violence much easier than guy and learn to be afrid of the power which enable it. What made my mind change is, shooting group was the most opposit thing to violence. The calmness, focus and steadiness you need to do a good group can not let have violent emotions and thought in you. Then, more I shoot, more I got confident and not afraid of the power. When I become comfortable with the power, I can regonize the power in me, hence more confident. Shoting changed me in really good way. Oops, I am babbling.....
  4. OOooh, Rich Franklin knocked out Nate in first round... dude that was brutal. Nate was so out when he first "almost" went to floor getting left, right and left, (I think that was what it was).. but Big John didn't stop the fight because Nate was still intelligently defending himself. But clearly fight was over already, because it was apprant he coudlnt' see anymore. Then Rich gave another really good left fook and boy, it was scary to see Nate's body went all rigid.. I hate boxing knockout. I don't want anyone to become Ali in his late age. Oh, Joe Riggs didn't make weight!! So, Matt fought anyway and as non-title fight and won. Bruce, you are right. Goerge St. Pieerre was good!!!! They had enomous hight/reach/weight difference. The comments I heard was "Sherk looks like angry elf" George just picked him up and took him down so easliy. Goerge is in quite good winning streak right now, isn't he? There are so many good fighters now compare to a year ago. Hope it will go more popular... Well...... Ultimate Fighter 3 looks like interesting... Teachers are... drum roll please... Tito and Ken Shamlock!! Wow. AND scary (thats's my teammate was saying) was BJ is back. I haven't seen his fight but all of my teamate was saying he is the pound-to-pound best figthter. Man, maybe I'm gonna ask Brian to start "Rika's MMA forum" :D Don't we need one/???? I can already see it get thumb down though. Haha.
  5. Wow, Ty? Is Ty in calfornia? Then I know him...he always wear Harley (sp?) Davidson shirts and never even imagzined he is into it. My favorite free article (book, actually) on zen is Mindfullness in Plain English I have struggled with "totally empty yourself" method of meditation. It is too difficult. Focusing the breath is much easier. But sitting needs so much motivation more so than drifire. You can see the progress in dryfire. But sitting.... I read scientifc articles like How meditation change your brain physically but alas.... So, actually sitting 20minitues once a week is a great acomplishment for me for now.
  6. Hahahahha! Nice to get to know you Steve. Darn, I loved Grim's tale stage but wasn't my best-scoring stage at all.
  7. Aww, thank you! I was crying when Tito was sobbing after the fight with Randy.. Randy was bit mean literelly spanking him. That wasn't cool but I know all bitterness going on between them. Besides, Randy is my hero too. Randy vs. Tito was soooo hard to watch, cuz I ddin't want either to loose... My heart is still broken for Tito... I haven't watch Sean fight before I think. We will get together tomorrow, shell out 5bux, pizza and coke, watching the UFC... I am soooo looking forward to!!!!
  8. Awwww, I am sooooo happy for you both. You guys are so cute together at the range. But, Ira, stop using that red kissy smilies!!! You love birds! Makes me jeaaaaaaalous! Er, sorry. Couldn't help I didn't know she was "afraid" of gun 4 years ago. You did great Ira!!!
  9. Goerge, BritanUSA (you got new avator eh?) thank you. Writing proposal is my professional skill. NP. Debbie (Princess) is already doing a lot of media coverage. Arizona Republic and radio show was at Area 2. Ladies camp will go onto NRA's women's magazine. But, TV would be so so great. Nothing can be compared to TV coverage. Kay and we will pack some sponsor package. I am full with ideas.. like, Remmington can promote its Youth model rifle/shotgun for women too! How about CZ? Isn't that small grip women friendly? there's a lot of niche market we can cultivate. Also, I got very unusual sponsorship package for the World Women Shoot - "A Half day with GMs" Women can win spending half day with, such as, Brian!! What do you think all the GMs out there? Wiiiill you donate your time for uuuus???? (insert eyelash batting here)
  10. Ok, pardon my ignorance... who's this Mr. Michael Bane? This is exactly kind of thing what I want to hear!!
  11. We, Julie, Kay, Debbie and Rika has been emailing back and forth on this. Looks like it will materialize in some way. We want other sponsors than S&W too... !!
  12. Kimbekid... great! Its funny to read she went charge 4 times a week but loves beating. Mmm, UFC comming up tomorrow.. Rich Franklin, Joe Diesel, Matt and Nathen... really great lineup.!!!
  13. From the horse's mouth! Thank you! I also did better on stage 11... no movement at all . I am good at those classifer kinda stage. that means... when I move, I suck. Each Area 2's stage had a different charactristcs, its great to figure out what's my weakness.
  14. I really don't want to pay $14 for just one track in "UFC: Ulitimate Takedown Vol.1 CD." Only song I want is Face the Pain, man! Do anyone happened to have the CD... I know chances are really nil.. but this is awsome metal song and everytime I hear it, I can visualize battle of the muscles and amped up for the day BTW, there's another women shooter at the are 2 who was wearing Taoput T-shrit. I asked her about it and she was a big UFC fan and loves Matt Hughes, while I am all over Tito right now since he looks so like a guy I once dated! We were like "Why the heck other girls don't watch it? Isn't it like best eye-candy?" Wait... am I in a right thread? or, even on the right borad???? :D
  15. As many of you know, Lady's Camp has revived my shooting life. Now, I want to get involved in promoting shooting for women. I really want to. I have been emailing with Princess (Debbie Fern) who does organizing/media relation for them. Basically, Kay, Lisa, Julie works for less than minimum wage, almost volunteer for the camp and match. Princess does all the work as volunteer. for now, S&W has been kindly the only sponsor. There's 2 thing going on. women shooter's Camp and women only match - Lady Smith Match. I am hoping to make Lady Smith Match bigger and promote the camp for beginners. Currnetly the match is only attended by women who attend the camp. What's wrong with the idea of making this into World Women Shoot or whatever :D I bet you boys love to come see/help, non? So, here's the first question so that I can approach Kay. How to approach other sponsors to sponsor the match. I have done this in Japanese high-tech industry (getting sponsorship from Mitsubish and Hitach and such) but not in shooting industry. I can beg and eyerash bat to find the connection through people I know to the key person of the companies. But, how I should approach? "business plan" good enough? Connection is more important? What's the steps to take? Any idea, opinion whatever? thanks!!!
  16. Are you going to have your trigger worked by Angus? I shot one he worked on and since my biggest complained about the CZ was trigger, I was quite amazed and thinking about it.... The grip is so much smaller. And since I'm cross eye dominant and cannot hold the gun "right" (my stronghand thumb doesn't come around to the left as far as it should) that long tail is something really helps. Welcome to Production BTW. Its really challenging to plan stages with 10rds but therefore, its more fun for me!!
  17. Ooooh, is that so???? Lowered front and rear? Huh? She got smaller wheel? Suspension mods? Ok, I will without doubt will try out sv650 too. I am too old to ride "veteran" bikes. Newer bikes with good suspension is necessary. Thanks! I would never even considered 650 without your guys input.
  18. Hmm, you are right on this. I hated stage 2 and 4, because it was just damn too confusing. I will check out Steve's page. Yep, I tossed out the stage discription all toether. My knee started to hurt on 2nd day but now its ok. thank you Wow, Flex, thank you. It never occured to me but it makes so much sense. On this stage, I planned each shooting positions with 6-8rds, therefore I didn't have to count how many rounds I shot. So, not only I was not in panic mode, my brain was freed up to concentrate on shooting more. I thought there's only one way to shoot and I must find the way and plan. But so makes sense to plan how "I" can do. Instead of run and gun same time, I could run, regroup, shoot and run for now. Thanks alot for the input!! That probably says a lot. It sounds like you shot within your ability level...shoot a plan that you had a solid understanding off...and, you shot comfortably. ------------ I just re-read you post. From your own words, you didn't do well on the stages where you tried to use skills that you weren't comfortable with. And, you did do well on the stage that you shot "conservatively" on...well, within your skill set. Uncomfortable vs. comfortable. Perhaps, when approaching stages in the future, adjust your plan until your are using shooting skill that you are comfortable with. (And, work on the skills that you aren't comfortable with in practice.) Funny that. I was watching my video and noticed same thing. I extend my arms too much even while moving. And never done finding mark on the barricade nor, trying to step into the position I planned to. I will do so in this weekend. thanks
  19. Thanks for the tips! I bought that wrench set (19.95) and sucsessfuly loosen the nut. hooah.
  20. I swear I want "how to fix problem" this time and not gonna freak out. I have been thinking about how I did at each stages. I talked with Matt and Brian and everybody say what you feel did good not necessary translate to the result. I understand why I didn't do well on 1st Pale Rider (me: 116pt 20pen 34.63sec while Dave's score is 148 0 20.83) and Stage 7 Grim's Tale (me: 129 10 23.45 Dave:136 0 12.63 ) Those 2 stages are running and gunning. I love running and gunning but I am waaaaay slow and not accruate, i.e. dont have skill of shooting on the move. That's been said, what I don't understand is why I did my best at US Marshal, even though I forgete to shoot the first swinger and needed to go back. If not, I could've placed myself like 12th, which is astounding. I was freaking out before I shoot and my stage plan is something compeletely different. When I plan max 10rd and miss, It throw my mag-change schedule off the window and I totally loose the stage. So, I planned VERY conservertively. Door opens, paper and two popper to the right. Mag change. 3 papers to the left, two poppers, mag change. From the left side of the barrel, 6 poppers and swinger. Mag change. Move to the right side of the popper, 3 papers mag change. then go to right window, 2 paper and a swinger. My score was 144 0 43.85 while Dave's 140 0 26.18. Yes, I happened to get 4 more points but timewise, I wasn't that slow compare to other shooters and given how I planned the stage. I am trying to figure out what was special about that stage. I came up couple of ideas: 1) that stage's barricade is mesh. So, I can see/know/visualize where next target is. 2) there's much distance to cover and there's not much shooting on the move. 3) targets aren't that far away 4) at each position, you can see next target in peripheral vision. So, easier target transition. 5) I'm somehow better at poppers (??) At the ladies camp, everybody told me to work on target transition so, maybe that weakness of mine wasn't factor here??? Kinda hard to answer if you dont' know my skill level and weakness but....
  21. Oh hm. Sorry I dont' remember..... But I will move to AZ so you'll be my shooting friends hehe. Julie and Kippi was teasing me... I promised to help Brian but the sale went so well, he didn't need me at all so I was practicing how to do the score.... never done that before!
  22. Doh! Bummer no choices in 400. I really do not think I can handle 650. Bike need someone to hold it up and if its way 3 times as me, 30kg difference is huge there. I started out with single 4cycle Honda RS250, then Yamaha VZ250, then to Kawasaki KZ, 2 cycle 250. While my favorite one was tweaked out honda's 2cycle 125 which I used to race. I just slapped the license plate and rode as street bike. Since riding it in Japan is stop and go at every couple of lights, I LOOVED doing "eat my dust" at every stop signal Watching guys frustrated not able to beat me was so precious....... (evil Rika) Tweaked out 2 cycle is quite quick in first 25 yards even its 125cc. Anyhow... I can not imagzine I am riding 650 at all Power would be awsome to feel but too much for me when something happens and I need to control quick. Carlos: "High speed wobbles, terrible brake fade and frame flex around & out of every turn." wow, that sounds horrible! I hate high speed wobbles. Kimberkid: " they start whining real hard around 55 mph." excatly.. that's why I wanted to avoid 250 since riding it in the US is so about highway. The reason for onroad bike is, I want to have my feet (or at least toes) reach. I'm pretty sure even 250, I need to modify the seat. Ok, choices seems like easier than I thought.... now which color I should pick! (hmmm, did I throw away that nice red riding boots?????) DOH!
  23. I have been thinking about it since the gas price went up. I totally decided so after the Desert Classic. The weather there is sooo beautiful, highway's never packed like CA and very well maintained. It would be dope to ride to Rio Salado for practice once I move. I used to ride for about like 15 years, did some racing (with 125cc 2 cycle which sounded like a buzzing bee) so, it would be nice to ride agin. My first choice is naturally Ninja 250. But I could consider 400cc if there's small/light one out there. I used to love Honda CB400 (dunno if you guys had in the US but really old model from 80's) My friend rides Harley low rider and she said if she tip it over, she'd call her friend for rescure... that's not my way. I need to be able to lift it up. Any suggestion? I prefere Japanese on-road model. Guns and motorcycle. I am aaaal set
  24. mm, incorrect. She had a boy and now with a guy who was shooting with her... I know who he is but not liberty to disclose Yop. She is gorgous.
  25. Hahahha! I know I know... its "modified" guilotine, I actually learned from a blackbelt. But sweeping wasn't gonna happen when he weigh twice as me. Steve I will tell Key and Lisa what you said. I bet they will be very happy Once I got the clearance from NRA (any picture Sandy is in, NRA has to clear it so that Sandy doesn't look like promoting unsafe gunhandling practice), I will post the group picture. Too bad most of them are married... but handful of US are single and avialble. Oh, Sorry, Julie is taken, I must add.... she showed us the picture of her BF - yeah, we women show each other's BF's pics and compliment, its the custom you know? - and he is the knockout!
