  1. Mmmmmm. I never payed attention if my grip are same all the way. Ok. Today I will practive trigger control. It sucks I feel like was shooting better when I shot first time! Thanks 300lbGorilla too. Glad to know its ok to have "locked" elbows. I think you are right. I was trying to "relax" and let go of all the muscle including wrists.
  2. You are absolutly right... about heavier bullets. I have recieved 147gtr 851+ (whatever it is) subsonic minimum powerfactor which passes IDPA/IPSC minor today. I went to the range and my grouping was half the small AND I can dump a magazine twice as fast. NOW I started to wonder what it will like if this is .40. Gready! Ok, I am going tol become Sharpshooter (now I am Marksman) in couple month!! Thank you for support
  3. I am trying to get more relaxed when I shoot and started to having problem when I do. First, less strength in right hands will make me shoot lower left. Un-locked elobow makes me do same things and overall relaxed arms makes me do limp-wristing. Is it bad to lock my elbow and grip stronger with my right hand? It goes agains Matt's and Brian's teaching, as you know. Also, what elese can cause me to shoot lower-left?
  4. Oi! Never in my wildest dream I thought Glock's snappy recoil actually can be used to get back where it was. Whoa. You know, I never understand why people take so many years to get better on this "poing and click" sports. There are so much into this. I thought whenI got perfect ammo and perfect gun, I can just practice but its more organic than that, isn't it? I will re-examine my "recoil management" all over again. I think I was trying to keep the frontsight from even moving anywhere. I will let the gun do its work tomorrow at range. Thank you!
  5. Thank you so much for the support! Every girl needs some emotional support, don't we??? :D Merlin Orr - I have been complaning I don't want to buy reloader because it doesn't match the interior scheme of my condo. Alas. I decided to buy one after learned about power factor stuff. I am not still sure if I shoot other division though. I can't pour too much money Jessej - I don't know if we met since (1) I am focused on shooting so much, only names I remember so far from Richimond people are Tom, Lily and Ron. Please say "hi" to me next time you see me!!!! I am so so so happy to know there's way to compare G35 and G23 locally and will take up the offer and contact BerKim. Joe D - I have been reading up alot and that sounds like very popular opinion. I am waiting for the reload from Atlanta Armas (147Gr, least power factor) for testing before start reloading and see how I will feel. EricW - Hmmmm. I NEVER thought about that! When I shoot very slowly (2-3 sec interval) I can let the gun do the work but since I started competition hence trying to shoot "faster", I aquired bad habit of pushing muzzle down trying to keep gun under control. It is THE task of mine for now to get rid of this. Strong recoil makes me loose control a bit especially like very close targets you wanna go almost aoutmatic fire. Again, thank you all for your input.
  6. My applogies... Its kinda lonly process of doing research & practice all by myself (with help of books and videos) and I opted out for actual human support MColiver: what do you mean by "sluggish" and why you don't like it? Pierruiggi: Matt Burkett said its beter to practice with same ammo/gun all the time. Is there any reason I should pracitce with major? I compared G19 and G17 and for some reason, G17 was more snappy for me and decided on G19 because I had no idea about reloading or power factor last year. Of curse if snappiness is not factor I'd had bought G17. I wish I have an acess to G34 and G35 but not many people shoot production around me. and can't compare. Ranges doesn't have those too but I will try to locate one.
  7. Hello With factory ammo, I like .40's recoil because it pushes back in my hand instead of muzzle flippy 9mm. My first gun was .40 but I switched to 9mm in competition because there's too much kick to rapid fire .40. So, my question is, if I load 9mm and .40 bullets in same minor power factor and shoot them in say G19 and G23, do they still recoil differently like with factory ammo? Or its because same load, both behave same? If they still recoil differently, I might want to change to G23, since my own reload is now possible. This is a big $$$ question and wanted to pick your brains... As always your brain power is appreciated!
  8. Geeez. I am so happy you guys helped me. I put Agrip on and it's oh so sikly, smooth, and firm... just like very well made control-top pantyhose! I loved it. And..... my left hand keep on flying off? When I started to shooting I used to do holding-a-bird grip, because it was like every 1 sec at most shots.. But nowadays I am getting into managing recoil stage, I was doing so by just grippng harder.... Today, I turned back on holding-a-bird grip and magically left hand stayed even during timing-drill.!!!! Rika, do not forget fundmantals!!!! Anyway, thank you for the all the advices... I am still waiting for the reload from Atalanta Arms... I will post how it will go.
  9. Oh indeed Not able to reach is the norm for me and I never thought it is "problem" I was flipping the gun when I used to shoot stationally only. Now doing that while moving gets very difficult. So, dryfiring hell out of it to press the release with left hand. Seems to me works OK and solved another problem - getting grip right well/quick after reloading. I don't really have many choice in guns. DA/SA totally messes me up so either Glock or XD but XD (if I'm not mistaken) is not allowed in USPSA. Sigh. A person from GlockTalk siad 2003's High Ladies in IDPA used G19 and she is 5''1'...So seems like not impossible task. And I ordered reload from Atlanta Arms.. if this works for me, I have to find "time share" reloader in my area otherwise I will go broke.... I will report back once I shoot with reloads!
  10. Yes, this is very valid. I am suspecting this but didn't want to admit. I tried XD9 and diidn't like it but my friend's XD40 with trigger job and all done felt reall good. XD has better grip which fit in my hand prety well. I am reluctant to swich since I am preactcing with G19 so much.. but am open to the option. Someone suggested to buy reload from Atlant Arms and I wll try thier load. Thank you for honest suggestion. Question.... what do you mean that I might be having reloading problem? I was told reloading/draw were pretty fast but fact I don't know if I have problems is problem, isn't it?
  11. Hmmm.. interesting! You said that happens if you grip too hard.... hm.. maybe that could be it.... I will try different pressure next time. Thank you
  12. Nod nod.... yes, I am currently married to Poweball. working on the grip!
  13. to 300lbGorilla 1) Agrip ordered. Thanks! To Flexmoney Its Glock 19. (Somehow, shorter the barrel, less the precieved recoil for me)
  14. Oooh I am so happy to know that! Because I was thinking "maybe if I can somehow hold onto the trigger guard from beneath and then "oh, maybe tha'ts no-no" I use left thum sticking straight forward to the target, Right thumb stiking up.
  15. I asked this question to GlockTalk too and hopefully, you gurus can help me out.... My hands are big for "petitte asian female" and I am working on grip strength very much. Still, almost everytime I shoot my left hand slips off from grip Only way not to is to grip stronger with my right hand, which leads to you know, shots going to down-left. So far I tried 1) many different way of gripping - nothing works and I settle with Matt Barkett's way. 2) skateboard tape - ending up shredding my palm 3) will try that rubber grip sleeve thing. My questions are: What can I do to my Glock to reduce recoil? I put 3.5 connector, thats about it now. Does reloading make it easy? Anything else I should try? Thanks bunches!
