  1. I've read about setback problems, but have not experienced any yet. I'm just wondering how often it happens with 9mm compared to other calibers? Does it happen more with coated / lead bullets? Is it good "preventative maintenance" to use a U-die?
  2. That's exactly what I did by sanding the inside of the magwell. All mags drop freely now.
  3. It was an issue for me. I replaced the locking block and noticed the pins were much tighter and accuracy improved. Also, make sure you are pressing the trigger straight and all the way to the rear (good follow-through) and use your reset.

  9. New to reloading - first batch ever, on new Dillon 550b: 7/27/14 4:00pm 107* 147gr Xtreme bullets 1.145 - 1.150 OAL 3.1 grains TiteGroup CCI Primers Glock 34 Gen4 I shot from 10 feet away, using a Shooting Chrony F-1 with diffusers: Stock Barrel: 932.8, 923.9, 933.5, 923.5, 916.2, 922.9 AVG = 925.5 ES = 16.6 PF = 135 KKM Barrel: 915.1, 913.7, 908.3, 914.9, 895.3, 925.8 AVG = 912.2 ES = 30.5 PF = 134
  10. Best practice is to put your unused powder back in its original container after every reloading session. I see so many pictures and videos of stained powder measures, I wonder how many people actually do that?
  11. I measured some WWB and AAA rounds. WWB has a .375 crimp and AAA has .376
  12. Just curious why users can edit their posts for a short period of time, then the ability is taken away? I have a post in the Classifieds that I would like to delete or edit.
  13. This is what I ended up using on the right / rear of the bench. It has been working well so far. Used a stud finder and drilled into that:
  14. How temperature sensitive is Titegroup?
  15. Yes. I was not testing groups yet - just velocity. I usually test groups and adjust my sights for POA/POI at 25 yards. I plan on doing that after I get the load correct.
  16. Thanks for posting about Uniquetek. I didn't know about them. They make a lot of good accessories for the Dillon, and I ordered a few today.
  17. Do you mean chrono the rounds at 15-25 yards? I chose 10 feet because I shoot IDPA Sanctioned Matches and that is the distance the rules say to use.
  18. Has anyone had experience with the BobChute Spent Primer Chute for the Dillon RL 550B? http://www.uniquetek.com/site/696296/product/T1346-550 Seems like a good idea.
  19. I will check it again tonight, but it was consistent when I weighed 10 powder dumps right before I made these 15 rounds.
  20. Is the general rule, the longer the OAL (within specs) - the higher velocity you will get? For example, will a 9mm 147gr load have a higher velocity at 1.15 vs. 1.13?
  21. I just got a new 550b and after setting all my dies and testing - I made my first batch of 9mm: 147gr Xtreme bullets 1.145 - 1.150 OAL 3.1 grains TiteGroup CCI Primers Glock 34 Gen4 I took them to the Range today and I saw much higher FPS than I was expecting with only 3.1 grains of Titegroup. I shot from 10 feet away, using a Shooting Chrony F-1 with diffusers: Stock Barrel: 932.8 923.9 933.5 923.5 916.2 922.9 KKM Barrel: 915.1 913.7 908.3 914.9 895.3 925.8 I was expecting more like 880 FPS. It was 107* today when I shot - is that why?
  22. I think you are fine as long as you are running a light striker spring as well. I'm running a 4# wolff striker spring, Zev extended striker and 11# ISMI spring on a Jager Gen4 steel guide rod. I haven't had any issues. I was just curious if there are any other disadvantages like the slide beating up the frame, or anything else...
  23. As long as your Glock passes the "standard test" of vertical returning to battery with the trigger depressed, are there any disadvantages to running a lighter recoil spring? For example, most shooters running a Glock 34 minor prefer a 13lb spring. Are there any disadvantageous to running an 11lb if the gun functions properly?
