  1. Thanks! I'm sorry but Tapatalk malfunctioned and my post went on the board 3 times. Sent from my bunker in the desert using Tapatalk
  2. I think I'm going to get the extended version. I have big hands but the but unless I have a perfect grip on the gun it's hard to reach the lever. Sent from my bunker in the desert using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks guys! Sent from my bunker in the desert using Tapatalk
  4. My new CZ 75 Shadow SA has the smooth front and back straps. I see many of you put grip tape on those 2 areas. What type are you using and where can I get some? Thanks! Sent from my bunker in the desert using Tapatalk

  7. Is the Timberwolf frame legal in any competition? Sent from my bunker in the desert using Tapatalk
  8. I know that this takes the topic in a bit of a different direction but which companies off mil-rated shooting glasses that are prescription? I'm nearing 50 and though I can see my front sight fine the 25 yard shots are difficult because the target is blurry. Thanks! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Yep it was definitely not the ideal competition gun! I am going to start a serious dry firing program too.
  10. Thanks a bunch Quirk! I'm good if it's capable of a 1.5 inch group at 25 yards. I'm pretty new so the gun is going to be capable of much more than me at this point. I will pick up the grips, magwell and base pads you recommended. I can't wait to pick it up! Sent from my bunker in the desert using Tapatalk
  11. I have shot about 6 IDPA local matches in SSP using a Sig P226. I had to take some time off for rehabilitation from a car accident and I am getting ready to get back to it. I am going to try and get better by doing some decent training between the monthly matches. I just ordered a CZ Shadow. I live in a shooting Mecca and had the pleasure of meeting JJ Racaza and he is very inspiring and helpful. Sent from my bunker in the desert using Tapatalk
  12. I have always wanted a CZ Custom model and got lucky and ordered a CZ 75 Shadow SA #91711. I shoot IDPA and want to set it up for ESP. The rear sight is fixed and the front is a 1.5mm fiber optic. When it gets to my LGS I will wring it out but wondered if most people change the sights? Is the CZ Custom magwell and grips the only one out there for IDPA? Any other parts to consider such as a steel guide rod? Thanks a bunch! Sent from my bunker in the desert using Tapatalk
  13. The whole marketing point with the new X5 series is they are modular and you can change out accessories like different rear sights, optics mounts, slide rackers, weights etc. I have found no X5 accessories available in the states for past models or the new models. I emailed the Gunbroker dealer importing so many and they could not get me an accessory. I guess we are stuck with a Dawson Precision front sight as the only mod. I wanted a X-Mount for my X5 Competition. If you spend the bucks on their Open model it comes with one but you are supposed to be able to buy a base model and build it up from there.
  14. I want to buy the CORE M&P model so I can put a red dot on it for home protection and range shooting. I know red dots are not IDPA legal but the M&P Pro Series is legal in the SSP division. If I left the screwed on red dot mount cap wouldn't the CORE just be the same as the regular Pro Series or would they consider it a slide modification? Thanks!
  15. I had a 5" Pro Series 9mm about 3-4 years ago and shot it in a class and got very frustrated with my distance accuracy. It's funny to hear now they had problems because I half blamed myself but I knew I was a better shooter then that. I put a ported Storm Lake barrel in it and an Apex FSS kit in it and it became an awesome range gun. Very accurate out far. Not IDPA legal with the ports I don't think but a real fun gun.
  16. Hi, I'm new to this site and plan on shooting my first IDPA match next month. I got bored with 2 dimensional practice at the range putting holes in paper. I have a friend that is going to go with me so we can be newbies together. I want to shoot SSP and plan on using my Sig P226 until I can but a M&P Pro Series or SA XDm 5.25. I have seen this site while Googleing competition info. Looks like it's full of great info.
