  1. I've tried both types of cleaning brass and for me tumbling is the way to go. It's a issue of time for me (drying time). I also noticed that when I sonic cleaned 223 brass that the bullets would gall when seating them since the carbon was gone. never tried it with pistol brass though. I don't think that anyone answered the question in the very first post but my answer would be call the manufacturer and let them know what's going on. hope this helps
  2. I'm having the same problem with my 38 supers with my reding dies. What I've noticed so far is that the used super comp brass that I bought is a lot worse about it. My solution for now is to use some Dillon spray case lube It's semed to help a lot. Probably eliminated 90% of the cases I toss out. I've also noticed that the more I use the brass I've bought new the more likely it is to do it. I think the brass is just getting thin in that place. But a case pro would eliminate the problem. Another thing about the case pro is the dies for other calibers are pricey too. God luck let us know what works for you.
  3. I just went through this for my self 7.2 grn auto comp, +p case, win sp primer, 124gn berrys, coal 1.263, avg 1350, 5in bbl no popple holes and a 5 port comp
  4. Me too but is it worth the chance of injury or damage to your home or body to use a broom. Just giving people something to think about when designing a reloading bench.
  5. I have 2 reloading benches I would go with an mdx top It's easy to work with inexpensive and smooth you just need to support it and edge it. Wouldn't do metal is wory about static with powder around. And carpet on top of your bench would collect powder and need to be vacuumed up and that's a no no too. Just my views on things not saying you should do it my way It's just the way I'd do it. By the way one of my benches has a coated piece of mdx on it and after a while it started comming off
  6. Ok thanks that what I figured thanks for letting me know I'm not crazy.
  7. I guess nobody has noticed a velocity change between +p and super comp brass?
  8. Sory guys my memory failed me on that one coal is 1.26 and avg velocity was 1294. Temp 92 deg. Like I said I'm not flattening primers yet but I'm new ( first time ) to reloading for major so I'm a little scared. There I said it I'm scared. Just want some reassurance that I'll still have all my fingers when I finally make it to major. Also I did start with the Winchester minimum load and am working up .01 at a time. Yea it takes a while but my gun is still in working order and have all my fingers and thumbs.
  9. So far I'm at 7.1grn, 124grn berrys plated, coal 1.127 win sp primer, and in +p brass it makes about 1270 avg fps. The primers still look good so I can go hotter just a little nervous
  10. By the way I'm useing a sti 5.5in bbl non hybrid 5 ports. And from my small experience super comp brass seems to produce higher velocity has anyone else noticed that.
  11. Just curious what other people are coming up with with autocomp. I haven't been able to make major yet
  12. Are you kidding I've shot one club match three weeks ago and since then have asked every durg dealer I could find if they have any ISPC so I can get my fix. Seriously though I shot skeet competitively for 8 years and it was the most fun I've had pulling the trigger in a long time.
  13. Where are you located?
  14. Wow Dan nice 3200 I got one set up for skeet it has a Simon's rib on it. I shot skeet for a lot of years and a couple of world champs use a very tall rib the reasons are differant for all of them but all the explanations given here are valid. Imop its a good idea to have your head in a more upright position because it makes it harder to raise your head and being that your eye is the rear sight raising your head will cause you to shoot high.
  15. Can you tell me more about the safari holster it looks like the DAA and ghost I'll be useing it with an sti
  16. I was in a shop on my lunch break close to where I used to work and noticed that one of the workers who was usually an asshat whenever I was there witch was frequently had his hand bandaged but didn't want to ask what happend at that moment. I had naught several guns there and the owner and I were on a first name basis at that point so the next time I saw him I asked about his worker's hand. He told me that a customer that knew nothing about guns braught a gun in and wanted to sell it. When the worker went to pick up the gun it went off and blew off his right index finger. The owner goes on to tell me that his employee swears he didn't touch the trigger. Mabe this wasent that funny but sometimes those asshats at gun shops make total fools of themselves. It's taken me three days to read this thread and will be laughing abou it for weeks to come.
  17. It's just annoying when I'm rolling along loading and notice I can't seat a primer. By that point I wasted one whole stroke of the handle. Stupid blazer brass
  18. Just wondering how they are compared to th daa. No one around here has one and I've been thinking about changing to one of them.
