  1. Dot=good No dot= wtf are you shooting lol Got it
  2. Ill try not to I say that every match I shoot I say I'm going to slow down some and end up always shooting faster. When I shoot my best it feels like everything is in slow motion and once that buzzer goes off I'm on autopilot everything tends to move as it should. But....... I will most definately try to slow it down ill post some videos once its over. How are you liking that steel master I almost bought the match master instead of a trubor I figured a full size would feel a bit easier for me to shoot till I get the hang of this open stuff down
  3. So this weekend is the first time shooting a match with an open gun. I ran a few drills yesterday. I run el pres alot faster with the open gun than I ever did with my limited setup. Anyone got any advise for a new open shooter?
  4. If the hammer is following why not just add a touch more tension to your sear spring
  5. This forum gave me a good starting point on loads no doubts there I can't take any credit for that the only powder hs6 I have was stupid old it's still in cans not the plastic bottle but its still good so I'm gonna use it up while I wait I would suspect I will lighten up some when I get new powder I have an aftec but its not had a single hiccup at 500 rounds now so i figure why change it I tuned up the ejector some and we will see if it clears the scope now
  6. didnt notice that thanks ill see about tuning the ejector up a bit more to throw a touch lower
  7. So due to rain I decided to do some more testing with 124gr 8.4gr of hs6 just don't seem to track as well as the 115gr load I worked up This is the 115gr mg jhp 9.5gr hs6 wsr col 1.165 avg 1513fps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGlEiESjxaw Does this seem pretty straight forward to anyone or am I just crazy and way off seems like the dot tracks pretty well straight up and down. Tomorow I'm heading out to check some more 124 loads from 8.4 and ill see where I stop ill let the chrony and brass tell that story
  8. No it doesn't end I know I'm going to want to order a custom tax time next year wife already said ok ain't she great lol Anyway figured I'd take a nice pic Got a bunch of hs6 loads to tryout with some 115 and 124's gonna see what I like best
  9. I just started shooting USPSA in sept using a glock. Held an STI once and bought an edge that day. Now 3 months later here's another STI lol. Sitting at work is killing me!
  10. So to me there is nothing more awesome than a nice custom open gun, so before I drop 5k on a custom build I decided to purchase a slightly used STI Trubor for 9major. The owner claimed only 600 rounds thru the tube at most so I jumped. Picked it up last night and he already had the springs I was going to use. Working up some loads tonight after work then off to get some results all the threads on here have already given me a very solid base to work from. Will post pics tonight. And some data from the range trip soon.
  11. I went from a glock 17 to an edge. You are going to love it! Took me forever to get used to a safety again
  12. I try to shoot alot of 3 gun when possible and if an RO was unsure if something was safe they would pull you aside and talk about it. If an RO says "I think" then it should just be a warning in your favor. They have to know exactly what you did or did not do. The RO needs to verify the firearm staus before a competitor picks up the firearm to be cleared. I have shot the Tarheel 3-Gun and the RO's are ussually on their game but stuff does happen.
  13. Top 10 always, sometimes top 5 best so far is 2nd and 3rd which was in the last month some a's and b's behind some in front all depends on where i go for a match.
  14. 24 a 6 c 2 d not bad could have been a bit better
  15. I been shooting uspsa for a few months now and need some yelling at or something to help me with my crummy form. So used to the army's way of shooting its been burned into muscle memory and can't get it out of my head. Some pointers would be nice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJOgZRewa-U&feature=youtu.be
  16. You are ultimately responsible for your equipment No reshoot
  17. I'm by no means a USPSA BA but what from I have gathered about anything is this. If you shoot too many matches like anything else you'll probably get burned out and find yourself in a plateau so to speak where your not getting any better. I try to shoot 2 matches a month and practice different drills from draws to reloading to shooting trying to develop certain skills and kill bad habits.
  18. Cecil Since I'm stupidly new to open guns myself I maybe wrong but... The STI GM was built with major pf in mind it is chambered in 9x19 "major" or 38 super. It may or may not function with 9minor ammo and the gas produced wont be effective with the comp. Now I'm sure you can change some things around on the gm to shoot 9 minor like recoil spring main housing spring and what not but the comp just won't be as effective due to lack of gas pushing the gun down. If I'm wrong don't hesitate to correct me guys I know some of y'all are wicked smart on comps and loads
  19. Columbia. try to shoot matches at Spartanburg, Mid Carolina, Summerville and N. Augusta
  20. ill jump in on this A78528 maybe this will motivate me to shoot classifiers right and stop screwing these stages up current LIMITED Class: C Pct: 43.54
  21. Hmm 5-4-4-2 major pf vs 5-3-3-1 minor pf Take the .40 since ya can't make major in anything small in limited
