The lure of the dark side is too powerful...
There, someone finally spoke the truth!

Thanks Shannon.
I will plan on seeing you there on the 13th. Thanks for the help.

I have used the Arredondo rest on all my Open guns and I really like it a lot. I can adjust the positioning for my "smallish" hands. I have not had any issues with using the rest, I actually prefer to have a place to consistently put my left thumb and not have it "float" around. As long as you don't put any pressure on it I see it as a definite plus.

Going to be a busy week.
All the big dogs will be in town just before the match.

SHOT SHOW is a full month before the Open.
SHOT - Jan. 15 - 18
OPEN - February 20-22
Is moving the dates later in Feb for 2009 going to put the Open in conflict with Daytona week again? Or is Daytona going to be the weekend of 14-15?

Do you know anything about the Frostproof match? # stages? # competitors? start time?
-
heeheehee no cold here...blue skies today and 85 degrees. We have a match on the 3rd Sunday in Ruskin. Here's our club site. No classifiers to shoot that weekend, just 6 stages of fun.
There's also a smaller fun evening match on the 14th in the PM in St. Petersburg at The Wyoming Antelope Club.
If you need help with directions, please feel free to PM.
Lighteye67,
According to the calendar the 13th is the 2nd Sunday. Is your match the 13th or are you the next weekend (20th)?
I think I actually shot a match at your club a couple of years ago when I was down at the same time. Nice club and nice folks.
Thanks.

I am going to be down in Spring Hill, just north of Tampa, for vacation and wanted to see if there was a match on Sunday April 13th somewhere nearby.
Any information about where, when, etc. would certainly be appreciated.
Thanks, can't wait to get out of the snow and cold for a week!

Thanks Alan, I was looking at the EH website. I got another one for you, how about GPS coordinance to the club house?
According to Google Earth it looks like clubhouse is located at:
40 08 24.62 N 79 35 54.92 W

Here's another photo from the same stage. The wall of snow really IS that deep!

For lubing my cases I just take a 1 gal. zip lock baggie, squirt a little One Shot into it, add cases, and shake. No residue in casefeeder and no need to clean finished rounds when done. Just load up and shoot them!

Appendix A3, page 56
Thanks, that is exactly what I needed!

I told you you are a sucky "gamer"
Is being a sucky "gamer" a compliment or a put down?

We had a local match this past weekend and something came up that I would like a clarification on. Can't seem to find what I need in the rule book so I thought I would ask here.
The written stage briefing for 99-23 "Front Sight" says ....
"String 1. Start facing uprange. Upon start signal, turn,
from Box A engage T1-T3 with only two rounds
per target."
Now, how do you define "uprange"? Says nothing about feet touching back of box or anything else. RO claimed that I had to be looking directly at him and I felt that I could turn my head and look towards the target as long as my hips and shoulders were "facing uprange". Does "uprange" relate to the 180 degree line in relation to the line of targets?
Can anyone clarify for me? Is there a written definition of "uprange"? Section in the rulebook?
Thanks.

After seeing this thread I decided to get myself checked. Blood lead level came back at 7 and my doctor said there was nothing to worry about. I am very careful to wash my hands etc. after reloading or after a practice or match.

Exactly correct!

Did you notice any excessive flash?
Tony
Yes it does flash, sometimes big time! But, when I am shooting I don't really notice it. The guys I am shooting with sure do.

I need to purchase some new Grams followers. Does anyone know who sells just the followers? I do not need new springs, have plenty of those. Thanks for the help.

Just for fun today I timed myself to see how fast I could load 100 rounds of 38 Super on my 1050 w/ KISS bullet feeder. Now, granted, I was going as fast as possible and could not keep up that pace for long......nor would I want to.
I did the 100 rounds in exactly 2 minutes and 18 seconds.

Yes...........I do, and it really works, at least for me.
A year ago I had the worst "tennis elbow", it was so bad I could not go through normal daily activities without a terrible pain on the outside of the elbow. Bought one of these and used it just in practices. Within a month or two 95%+ of the pain had disappeared.
Some may poo poo the idea but, as I personally can attest, it made a world of difference for me. I would absolutely recommend it for anyone with that same elbow pain.
Not to discount your testimony here, but the problem is that we have no way of knowing if the wrist band made a difference or if your tennis elbow just got better on it's own around the same time you incorporated the wrist band. I haven't checked, but I would be very suprised if any controlled trials had been done with the device to see if it works for anything. Tennis elbow is known to be self limiting and usually does get better on it's own eventually. Unfortunately it often takes 1-2 years to do so. Also tennis elbow is very different than Rocket35's "carpal" (tunnel?) issues for which I don't think anything increasing compression at the wrist would be a good idea. For what it's worth I generally think everything is snake oil until proven otherwise.

badchad,
Your points are well taken. What I tried to say in my post is it did work for me, pain relieved in less time than without it, and that I would recommend it to anyone who is having a similar problem.

Jack,
Those are nice looking bags. How will the color go with the Clemson stickers that are on your mag pouches?
Sorry, couldn't resist!
Clemson stickers? I thought that ugly orange color on my mag pouches was rust?
That's very odd The rust doesn't seem to have made it onto any of Jr's equipment!

Not to drift the thread too much but how many 1050 users have replaced the triangular plastic roller handle with the blue aluminum one? I did, and love it! Getting snap ring off and on was a little tricky but well worth the effort/time. Others done this?
