OK, so is there any way someone here can add both the Dillon and U die to my list on the poll? -
Best Sizer/decapper Die On The Market?
nhglyn replied to nhglyn's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
JH, Wow, thanks for reminding me. I had a list made out with Dillon on it and, when I went to type the post, just left them off somehow. So, is there a way to add Dillon to the list of possibles in the poll? Can a mod do that for me? I'd appreciate it. -
Best Sizer/decapper Die On The Market?
nhglyn posted a topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Just curious what everyone thinks is the best all around sizer/decapper die on the market for use on the Dillon progressive presses, and why. -
AWLAZS, I'll make sure you get the ones I take out of the gun each time

Me too, thanks for the tip. No more fading dots.

Geez.......... thanks Matt. I actually knew it was the sear spring but my brain and fingers did not co-ordinate! I have corrected the post.

Question I always wanted to know but never asked.......... what do each of the 3 fingers on the sear spring do? Looking at it from behind. Thanks.

I switched my dies (38 Super) over to a 1050 and have to readjust everything. I can't find the instructions for the Redding Sizing die. Do I screw it all the way down to the shellplate? I did this and was starting to get a ring of brass just up from the head. The cases also feel like they are "sticking" as the handle is pulled down and then back up. Should I be getting that much resistance? Is this the best sizing/decapping die on the market? Are there others that are better? I tried the EGW undersize die but that shaves material off the casing so I put it away. Help or suggestions appreciated.

jgilmore16, Have we shot together at GMPS? I belong there because there are a bunch of really nice folks. Good club matches and we host the AWARE/Area 7 this year which is always a great match.

Wasn't sure where to put this post but it needed to be put somewhere so here it is. I just purchased a Dillon 1050 from Brian (previously bought a 650 from him) and made arrangements to get it quickly as Dillon is 6 days ground shipping from me. Brian took care of all the arrangements for me and spent a lot of time on the phone with me and Dillon. Through none of Brian's doings the shipment was messed up and I got a call saying I wasn't getting it as scheduled. Brian was very apologetic even though it was not his fault. I explained my situation, he said he understood, and he said he would get right back to me after he checked with Dillon to see what could be done to help me out. Sure enough, he called back as he said he would in 30 minutes. He had gotten the right person on the phone at Dillon and they reshipped another press today .........I will have it as originally scheduled. Bottom line............. how many companies do you deal with that take care of their customers this way? I am now a VERY loyal customer of BE and urge others who are contemplating a purchase to check with Brian first. You absolutely won't get better service and you will walk away feeling that he really does care about his customer's happiness and satisfaction. Not to mention, he knows his stuff! Thanks Brian.

RePete, Is there a bracket that holds the primer cup that needs to be removed? Does the case stay in the ejection port OK or does it drop out from time to time?
-
I looked through the tips and tricks post but didn't see what I was looking for. Has anyone come up with a foolproof way of collecting spent primers on the 1050 rather than using the primer cup? Plastic tube adaptations etc.? Links? Pictures? Thanks.

Primer Detonation In Xl650
nhglyn replied to XD Niner's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
XD Niner, Glad to see you were wearing safety glasses. Same exact thing happened to me and I too posted so others would learn. ALWAYS, I repeat ALWAYS, wear safety glasses while reloading. Thanks for passing on your experience. If enough of us victims of an XL650 KB pass on our experiences, then maybe we can help prevent a serious injury to someone else. -
650 To 1050..............worth It?
nhglyn replied to nhglyn's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
L9X25, The KISS bulletfeeder comes with a special powder funnel that bells the correct amount for the bulletfeeder to work correctly. So, given that I will have that installed with the powder die at station 4, how does that change what I have at #2? Do I swage straight walled pistol cases? Or, remove swaging rod and have station empty? -
650 To 1050..............worth It?
nhglyn replied to nhglyn's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
If my 1050 will be set up to do only my 38 Super, do I need to swage? Or do I just remove the rod and leave the station empty? Can someone give me a list of what goes in what station? I have separate seating and crimp dies and I have the KISS bullet feeder. So what goes where 1-8? Thanks. -
Just Bought A Super 1050 From Brian.
nhglyn replied to R Lewis's topic in BrianEnos.com Customer Feedback & Support
Count me in as one of those who bought a 1050 from Brian this week. Already have the KISS and RF100, and all kinds of brass and bullets just waiting to be introduced to each other. -

650 To 1050..............worth It?
nhglyn replied to nhglyn's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Thanks for all the replys, I decided to go for the 1050. I just spoke to Brian and placed my order with him. Glad to purchase from a guy who does so much for the sport and this forum. Now, can't wait for it to get here..........that will be the hard part. Thanks again. Got my 650 sold already too, so that helps. -
650 To 1050..............worth It?
nhglyn replied to nhglyn's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Nik, I came up with this to catch spent primers on my 650, can the same sort of thing be fitted to the 1050? http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42137 -
650 To 1050..............worth It?
nhglyn replied to nhglyn's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Speaking of primers........ On the 1050 is there a primer disk like the 650? Or does it use some other system? Also, is there a spent primer cup like the 650 or something different. I appreciate all your help. -
I have been using a 550 and 650 and am thinking about getting the 1050, but don't know if it is worth the extra $$$. I have a dedicated 650 that I use for only 38 Super. Has the KISS bullet feeder and I have the RF 100 primer filler. The 550 is used for other calibers (all pistol). Is it worth it for me to buy the 1050 (I would then sell the 650)? I only do pistol and would use the 1050 for just the 38 Super. Is it worth the money for me to do this? What are the advantages of the 1050 over the 650? I would obviously keep the KISS for the new 1050. Does the 1050 price include the casefeeder? If I get the 1050 is there room for the powder check station if I have the KISS bulletfeeder installed? I seat and crimp at separate stations. Is the powder check a good idea/necessary to have on the 1050? I have done a search and read a bunch of stuff but would like input from those who have gone from the 650 to the 1050. Thanks for any help/suggestions.

As my friend 9x21 said............shoot Open! Problem solved.

I too have a Brazos Pro Sx and use 10.4 grs of VV N105 with a 125 gr HAP to make 170.5 pf. As mentioned, pricey and getting harder to find. But, to me, it's worth it.
