45junkie, The cup that catches the spent primers should be blue plastic. The metal bracket that holds the spent primer cup should be black and it should be screwed to the underside of the platform as shown in figure #3 of my original post. What holds your blue cup in place? Unless Dillon has made some major changes in design that I haven't seen yet it should be the black metal bracket with 2 screws.

Thanks to all. Done testing and have settled on: 4.3 grs Titegroup 115 Zero FMJ WSP primers 1.108 OAL Chronos almost the same as good old WWB ammo. Nice for what I am using it for.

Gotta love this site and it's members. Do you like the Ghost holster? I'm considering a change from my CR to stop the interference with my giant legs........ This is not a knock on all CR Speed products, they make some great stuff. But, I swear by the Ghost holster now because of what happened at the 2006 Florida Open. Stage 2 "Sky Diving" starts with gun loaded in holster. Reach above your head to grab 2 "parachute" handles that slide on cable. On beep must "run" forward 10-12 feet, keeping control of one handle with each hand, and pass a boundary line, let go of handles, draw gun and engage targets as you walk on a boardwalk. Guy before me starts and drops gun, DQ. I ask him if he had holster locked, he says no. Other guys say it has already happened to 6-8 people from other squads so I am getting a little nervous/cautious. My turn......I LAMR, gun in CR Speed holster, and I LOCK IT. There, playing it safe and smart! I'll move past boundary line, then unlock gun, and engage. Extra split second but better safe than sorry. Turn to RO and show him that it is locked and yank up on it a couple of times to test. We have a little laugh about it. BEEP, take 3 steps forward lose control of one handle so I stop and reach back for it. Gun comes out of locked holster and I go to Dairy Queen! What the heck? Look down and CR Speed still in locked position. My friend catches the whole thing on video so, after the formalities, we watch and, sure enough, holster was locked just as I thought I had done. Everyone feels bad and I don't get to shoot last few stages. Sunday comes around and I go to cheer on the rest of squad and bring belt/holster to one of the vendors (a GM) to look at for me. Tell him story and we try some guns in holster. Sure enough, with enough upward/forward force the gun can pop out. Net result.......I bought a Ghost holster, no more gun coming out of a locked holster! My gun came out of a locked CR Speed, has never happened with a Ghost. For me, enbd of story. Just my .02!

At Green Mountain Practical Shooters, in Northern Vermont, it is pretty much every month of the year, never in April (mud season- can't get down the driveway). Several memorable February matches with 3+ feet of snow and really cold temps. Guys will shovel out pathways and lots of folks wear crampons on the boots! Great fun

Dillon, Am I really supposed to have #5 buttons for 38 Sup/9mm? It came with #3 buttons and that is what I have always used, aren't the #5 ones really small? It does have the #5 shellplate. Thanks.

Need a little help here.......... Super 1050 been loading 38 Super (not SC) for a year with no problems. Bought separate toolhead, dies etc. to load 9mm and have it all set up. Loaded 5-600 but I am now getting numerous (1 per 3 or 4) instances where the casing being primed is being pushed off line and the outside edge of the casing is being lifted up out of the shellplate. Inside edge stays in shellplate so casing is now angled toward the inside as it rotates to the powder die. If I don't catch it then casing is torn apart by the powder funnel. I also get a lot of primers that are "flattened" and then jam up the primer slide. Same shellplate and buttons 38 Super and 9mm. Using Winchester small pistol primers. Probably 99% or more commercial headstamps of various makes. Haven't seen much military. Swaging station active but I did try it also when rod is lowered. Happens both ways, problem is at the priming station. Shellplate tightened down as much as possible but allowing it to turn properly. Plastic wedge adjusted so just a slight movement of casing when in priming station. It's almost like the primer punch is pushing up off center causing the casing to become angled or the primer to be "smooshed". But, how can primer punch not be centered? I have also experimented with different depths of primer seating. Or, the casings are too small for the shellplate and are not being held tightly in it when the primer punch comes up. Or, is it possible for the hole in the primer slide to become "out of round" so the primer does not sit perfectly in the center? So primer punch comes up, hits off center primer, drives it up into casing off center, causing the angling of the casing and the flattening of the primer itself? So, where do I go from here? Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. I have called Dillon twice and am still having the problem so I thought I would try here at BE. Thanks in advance.

Bill, Sun was down behind trees and it was a little overcast and IR screens were plugged in. Just curious, if IR screens are functioning why does sun throw reading off? I thought use of IR screens allowed consistency of readings in all light conditions?

Matt, Thought of that but I looked at the WWB ballistics data on the Winchester site and they say it should chrono at 1190, so my 1230 reading isn't too far off. Will chrono again tomorrow and see what I get. Will use the XD but will also test with a Beretta 92fs.

I did a search but would like current thoughts from people who use 115 gr 9mm Zero FMJ and Hodgdon Titegroup. I tried 4.0 grs but am getting, what I consider high, fps readings (average 1440 fps) and am questioning if they are correct or not. Test group from same gun was WWB 115 FMJ and I got an average of 1230 fps. Hodgdon reloading data gives range of 3.9 grs (1075) to 4.3 grs (1151), so why do I get 1440? This was from a full size Springfield XD with CED chrono and infrared light. Mixed brass with WSP primers loaded on a Dillon 1050. Thanks for your input.

When using the "U" die, given the smaller diameter, should you lube the brass to make things go easier?

I am setting up a 1050 toolhead to load 9mm and I have an EGW "U" die left over from a previous 38 Super setup. Can I use this 38 Super die in the 9mm setup, or do I have to buy a 9mm specific "U" die? Thanks.

Are you lubing the cases? Some Hornady One Shot in a large baggie, add cases, zip bag and shake. Makes a world of difference in how smooth the reloading goes.
