  1. I use a seattle slug on my g35. I mostly wanted the extra weight to make the gun balance better when the mag runs low. I couldnt get over the multi color issue of the black gun, stainless KKM barrel and Brass plug sticking out the bottom, but I purchased some "brass black" and after three coatings, the brass looks like black chrome and Im happy now. I have not found a magwell that fits my hand on the glock yet. Admittedly, I have not tried Dawsons yet either or Novaks, but currently dont feel the need to yet.
  2. Glock Custom Racing is supposed to have some in stock, at least a while back they did, check with them. they are worth the wait.
  3. I went through the large frame small frame delimma with my G35 and Rescomp CR speed WSM holsters. Brownells stated (written and over the phone) that the one holster fit both and there was no difference. I ordered it and received a large frame holster that was a sloppy fit. Not knowing any better, I almost settled on the holster, it seemed to work OK, but was not the fit I expected and I figured that I just needed to learn to set it up properly. Then I researched the issue a little more and found that they are not interchangeable and ordered the right size holster from B&B Carver, who seemed to know what he was talking about. I received the holster and immediately sent the large frame one back to brownells and asked them to correct their advertisement because it was very misleading. The widths are severe enough to make a difference. Order the correct holster.
  4. bob carver (B&, the guy that does the Carver Mounts and modified holsters, has them listed on his websight, though they were kinda pricey.
  5. I have recently talked my father out of his RL450, it is on a loan basis for now, but I will probably have it for some time. He had not used it in about 10 years and it was pretty mucked up and I was tired of spending 5 hours to load 200rds on the rockchucker. I spent about 5 hours tearing it completly apart cleaning it up and polishing the ram and pins and all the moving parts of the primer feed, shell plate and powder dispenser. It looks as close to new as a used machine can. my delimma is that it is setup for 45acp, which is fine, I need to load a few thousand of those, but I really need to get some 40 s&w set up. What do I need to convert this old dillon over to the 40. I have the small primer tube and feeder, so all I think I need is a shell plate and maybe new brass studs that keep the shells in the plate when its turning. the part I know the least about is the powder die that expands the case (flares the mouth), is it universal for most handgun rounds, or do I need a specific setup for the 40? is it the same plate as the 550b takes? I will order the parts as soon as I find out. there is not a lot of info available on the 450 anywhere and no mention of it at all on dillons websight that I could find. thanks in advance, Chris
  6. Well, after searching for a while, I found a forum that was on cue with my question over on glocktalk. The large frame holster will not work with the small frame gun and vice versa. If you have a small frame Glock, then you have to have the small frame holster. I ordered from B&B for about $35.00 less than Brownells.
  7. Hey guys, need a little help. I chose the Rescomp WSM hoster for Glock and was making a large order from Brownells. Everywhere else I have seen the Rescomps for sale on the net, they specifically ask whether it is a large frame or small frame glock. I never received that question from Brownells and just received my holster last night. I purchased it for a Glock 35, a small frame gun and they sent me a Large frame hoster. I called them back to re-order and the lady told me that they dont show the frame size as an option. The WSM model is new and only on their webpage. So, she said she couldnt change the order to a small frame. It came supplied with some shims. Should I send it back and order somewhere else to get the correct fit, or is there only one size "Glock" holster and you have to fit it to your small frame?
  8. What is more favorable? the bump or lack of? Brownells list's the model "G" cr speed. Is the WSM the more favorable of the two for a glock?
  9. I am considering the CR speed, but see that brownells also advertises on the same page the Rescomp WSM model, looks pretty much the same as the CR speed model. I am working on a glock 35. there is about a $40 price diff.
  10. for the bulk of cleaning, I just use Hoppe's, I like the smell and it is cheap ($9.00 a quart). shooters choice works well for harder to remove gunk. I usually use tetra for the bore and my version of Slide Glide is Amsoil greasefor the moving parts, looks and works like slide glide, you can purchase it in different weights and its only a few bucks for a tube. in really cold weather like +10 to -20F I use plain 'ol white lithium grease, I buy it in the parts store and cant tell the difference between it and Wilsons ultimalube except the price. As far as rust prevention, any gun oil, rem oil, castrol, Kroil etc will work for wiping down the outside finish, then i wipe it dry after applying the oil. A big safe with an electronic humidity control rod is what I use for long term storage, no cases, they sit on the open shelf. Living in the high desert helps a lot also. rifles are about the same except I use Sweets for copper fouling and if its really bad Wipeout is about the easiest when I feel particulary lazy. If I feel attentive and motivated, the outers foul out III removes copper like nothing I have ever seen, but it require a lot of babysitting.
  11. thanks guys, I will try the tin foil trick, sounds like an easy fix. The SWC's feed great in my stock G22 and I tried 200 of them in the stock barrel on the G35 before I settled on the KKM, never a hiccup, but that tighter chamber throws a fit. I crimp them to .421 I plan on trying to get away from lead (tired of the dirty gun and smoke)but need to find a good deal either on a bunch of Montana Gold or some Zero bullets, its just been hard to pass up $37.00 per 1000 (pick up price from lasercast).
  12. I have recently acquired a G35 and just put in a KKM barrel, I have been shooting a lot of Lasercast 170gr SWC in my G22 and have about 3000 left, problem is that they dont like to feed in my KKM, they hit the roof of the chamber and stop, jamming the slide partially open. I am setting my oal around 1.136 and running 3.9gr of tightgroup. Should i try seating them to 1.130 and backing the powder off and reworking up, or just abandon and go with the 180 rn fp. which brings up another question. I usually prefer heavier bullets, but my rcbs carbide die only had one bullet seater, it leaves a ring on the top area of the shoulder of the bullet, what you you guys use for a seater/plug for Lasercast 180 RN FP bullets?
  13. are there anymore updates with this magwell? Im interested in one, I have a 35 on its way, I have acquired a kkm match barrel for it and thought the SS magwell would compliment the SS barrel nicely. Im interested in one that fits in the IDPA box and to know all the pads that fit it. is there going to be a price difference for the IDPA legal ones? Thanks
  14. the factory 24c upper assembly's had 4 holes in the top of the barrel that fired up through the cutout in the slide.
  15. glock used to sell complete top ends, they offered a 24 non comp for 250.00 and a 24c for 275.00. they used to advertise in a lot of gun mags, but havent seen any for a while.
