Hopefully I posted this in the correct location. I have been away from shooting sports for a while now. I have kept up with this forum when I was away. It excited me to see the carry optics division. Always wanted to shoot open but didn’t want to sink that kind of money. A few months ago I came across a crazy good deal on a P320 X5. Now, I need some help dressing it out. I keep reading about different optics and I remain confused. I have looked online at DPP, Vortex Venom, FF3 and Romeo1. Also saw a few others. What is the way to go? Which has the biggest glass? Last but not least. I have no clue on what dot size to pick. I would assume it’s a compromise between accuracy and speed. I just don’t want to buy something and figure out that I should have spent my money on something else. Thanks

Does it take long loads? What kind of accuracy are you getting? I need a barrel for an integral suppressor I'm having built. I was eyeing it in hopes of a little better accuracy than the cmmg that my builder typically uses. I have a 5.56 barrel of theirs and it's great.
-
Ouch. High price tags for sure. I have a taccom and find it accurate. Takes the same long loads as my Glock and weighs pretty much the same it just costs less. Im sure it is a nice barrel though.

Any news?
-
The old style does. New style is the same just without the holes.
-
I guess I'll find out the hard way. Just got done spraying cerakote. Everything is in the oven now. I'm going to put it together later this week.
-
I have one of the original style with the holes. I finally have all the parts to put it together. Any reason they went from the holes in the shroud to it being solid? I assume there is not enough gas to worry about your hands.

Thanks guys. 3.8 sounds a little high but we will see. I'll load some up from 3.2 to 3.8 and see where I need to be at. I have never loaded the flat points. They were ordered by mistake, hopefully I like them because I just got 5k of them in.

Looking for load data for Acme 147FP with N320. I think I was running bayou at 3.2gr 1.15oal. Does that sound close? I have never used the flat points. This will be used in a glock 34. Thanks

Grand Power X-Calibur: range reports
JPetrowski replied to NicVerAZ's topic in "Other" & Pistol Comparisons
I just looked at the "complete package". Have you used the mag pouches? Do you like them or would you recommend buying a different brand separately? -
Thanks. Would like to stay with a jacket or coating as they will be shot from glocks as well. I just saw a decent price for the Rainer but I don't have any experience with them.

It's been awhile since I have been able to shoot but I am getting geared back up. I used to use Berry's & bayou 147gr with either TG or N320. I already have plenty of powder but am looking to stock up on bullets. Does anyone have any experience with the Rainer 147 plated hollow points? Or Would I be better of with bayou or BBI?

Grand Power X-Calibur: range reports

What holsters can you guys recommend for the Xcal? This is for USPSA production. Thanks -
I looked through their Facebook and it looks like the products and services they offer are nice but not for the price. The pictures and comments remind me of a big marketing company. And calling the customers agent's is pretty dang funny.
-
Mark, just out of curiosity how did you even know the competitor even did it?
-
I have never seen the tru grip but it looks nice. It reminds me a lot of a grip done in silicone carbide. I have been using Dawson and really like them but they don't go around the backstrap. I also looked around and found them here. I assume they are actually in stock. Hope that helps. http://www.mannyusa.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?

Grand Power in the US: best time to purchase?
JPetrowski replied to blkcat's topic in "Other" & Pistol Comparisons
I was looking at picking one of these up But, someone called me today and told me they just ordered one. Now I can check it out before I actually buy one. Needless to say I'm excited. -
I don't know if you found what you need. Check this out. It's probably your best option. http://www.tuffyproducts.com/p-508-tuffy-2007-2010-jk-unlimited-security-tailgate-enclosure.aspx

Well, it turns out he somehow misread it. He got there and they were Glock 23's. So he decided to pass and continue on the hunt. Thanks for all the help.
-
Hmmm. He told me its a gen2. I'm not sure. I guess I'll just wait and see. He is supposed to go check it out tommorow afternoon. I'll keep you guys updated.
-
I was curious what everyone's thoughts were on gen 2 glocks. My dad really likes my gen3 glock34 and he found a gen2. He asked me about it and I told him I thought it would be the same as my gen3. The place he is getting it from has several gen2 Glock34's for sale at $350 each. Is there anything I should let him know of?
-
I have a SDB and I am very happy with it. I have never used a 550 or 650 but I would never sell my SDB if I bought a different press. I don't think you can go wrong with any dillon equipment. If you shop around you can find a deal that you will now lose on.

I've always shot 147's. I'm going to order some 147's from bayou soon, I think I'll get a few thousand 95's to play with too. Let me know what you come up with. Zach, What pound recoil spring were you running in the Glock?

Thanks. Sorry for the thread hijack. I got my front in today and got it installed. I really like it so far. I will know tomorrow after I shoot a match with them.
