Personally I'd like some way to compare scores across divisions accurately. Points based matches don't allow for this because all the divisions are separated.
-
great movie until the last minute.
-
I hope I can make it...I might be on the road driving to Fort Benning then.
-
Great match, great stages. The stages rivaled the quality of stages of bigger matches out west here. What you lacked in pretty props, you more than made up for in creativity.
I'll have video up by the end of the week hopefully.
Scoring made accuracy matter more than at other 3 gun matches. Only C Zones or better counted, D zones did not count as hits. Rifles had to have 2 C zones to neutralize or 1 A/B. Pistols had to have 3 C Zones or 2 A/Bs.

We now have longer pins available for use with match triggers.
Kewl! And where might I find them Russell?
Ed
I have them listed in our dealer forum here. You can call to order at 480-833-9685

I'm planning on being there...my trip to MI should work out better than expected. ACTS Match on Saturday, 3 Gun on Sunday.

I've been using one of our CAV-16s with .45ACP Olympic upper and M3 Grease Gun magazines for subgun matches, and I like it a lot. The one thing I don't like is how much muzzle climb it has. The cyclic is probably around 900 RPM. So I need a comp to help keep it on target.
Will the comp work better with a shorter barrel? The barrel right now is 16"....but since this is a machine gun, we can cut it as short as we like (though too short looks silly with a full length A1 stock). What comps should I consider, something for a .45 race gun? The machinist tells me he can make anything fit on the end that I want.

yep...match rules at www.riopractical.com and schedule for events on the main site.

We rent subguns for use at matches if you don't have your own ;-)

This past weekend was the AZ State Subgun Match. This year the stages were set up in a Carnival Midway style theme. Semi Autos are now allowed to compete in a separate division. Not a serious match at all, but a lot of fun:

You guys don't have enough flare! You better get this morale patch:

Wait just a second. Arn't you one of the guys who started the whole trooper class. Now you're wussin' out because of a mag?
If someone wants to carry that in trooper class, well equipment is completely unlimited and that won't change, but I'm not going to carry one myself. Drums are usually size inefficient for the number of rounds they hold compared to standard capacity magazines.
I just watched the video. It did wobble quite a bit. Damn cheap plastic crap. Next thing you know some smartass will try and make a gun out of that stuff. My concern is stress on the tower...which is exactly where I had 3 beta mags crack.
-
The amount of wobble back and forth while shooting makes me wonder how long one of these would last.
-
If you can hump it, go for it...

That thing looks way bigger than I would want to carry.

Watch the video....you guys will love this. Apparently, you can't move and use the sights at the same time, that's why our military needs Beta Mags so they can spray and pray from the hip

For those of you who can't afford a machine gun, but have pistol caliber carbines, good news!
The Rio Salado Sub-Gun Match is now allowing Semi-Auto pistol caliber carbines to compete in their own separate division. These are fun, low key matches, get out and get some practice in.
www.riopractical.com/subgun/subgun.html
Semi Autos will all compete in one division until there are 10 or more regular competitors.
The next match is Saturday the 29th. Starts at 8AM, match fees are $20.00.

They're local girls into guns that are helping us with promotional projects. I'm planning on doing more youtube videos (links to current videos here: http://www.cavalryarms.com/videos.html) and at some point we'll have posters/calenders.
I had given them some basic safety and operational instruction before the class. At the end of the class everyone had to shoot a qualification course, and the girls out shot some of the cops that were there. They're hooked on shooting and eager to learn more.
Here's Ali and Chrissy shooting our PKM Machine Gun a few weeks ago:

My goal is to get them trained up to the point I can start taking them along with us to local competitions.

I think his $2K price is AR+ Optic.

If you do Classic anything make it any guns made before the end of WWII
