Are the mags seating really well? There not getting hung on the mag release spring just a little? And is this on the first shot of the fresh loaded mag or is it halfway through shooting a mag?

Best part was my roommate was driving a maroon bronco at the same time. Made it all that much better.

Best one I've ever seen was on an old white bronco and it said "not OJ" pretty much fell out laughing.

What Magwell are you running?

I saw those ones from Dawson you say you got and there sharp, I almost went with the Dawson Magwell and pads, I finally found an unlimited Magwell though and went with the Arredondo base pads, I'm sure I'll end up trying um all. Haha

haha I know! When overnighting all my goodies was going to be like 150 bucks I decided to chill out a minute and try and be patient. I couldnt and wouldnt stand for the thought I couldnt have a magwell in the mail before the next comp, I was just minutes away from springing for the dawson steel magwell I believe is what i had found, looked great but looked like I may have to use there base pads and id already put a order in from somewhere else for those...I wish there was a shooting store close by that had holsters, decked out guns, gun goodies and everything. A shooters toy store so to speak.

Set out on a mission 3 days ago to have my gun decked out and to be better by the next competition (week and a half), although i doubt the gun is the reason im not at "GM" status yet I still like to think thats it, so after scowering the world wide web for the past 2 days I finally found 1 unlimited Magwell!!! I guess the place i found realized they were the only ones cause they hurt my feelings with the price, and hurt them again with standard shipping of 17 bucks ...I had to order base pads from the complete opposite side of the country from where my magwells coming from. BUT I did find a 1000rd case of ammo to practice with over the weekend and next week. (hopefully!, the place i found is only 45mins from me but they have to ship so im having to just wait and hope they arrive tomorrow) Just a newb trying to make it in this fast paced sport... weekend plans are slide racker (possibly) and adding some weight to guide rod, possibly porting the slide...we shall see

well send me yours, and you can put the money in a sock drawer until the new ones come out! ha

Alright guys I know this belongs in the classifieds and I don't have the post count yet but I'm trying to help somebody. I've got a competition in a week and a half and I'm going to have my gun worked up more before then. I'm headed to pick up a 1000 rounds tomorrow to practice and I need some goodies. Before I go to bed tonight I'll be ordering a Magwell, extended base pads, and no telling what else depending on how tired I am. And I'll pay to have it overnighted. If there's anybody here that has spare parts laying around and wanna get rid of them and can ship tomorrow lemme know. Just trying to help myself and others if can be. I'm shooting uspsa limited. And my xdm is brand new, so anything will be looked at, Magwell is very needed along with base pads, DAA holster belt and pouches,etc.... Im sorry if I'm breaking any forum rules. Just putting the offer out there before I order. Or if anybody has idea on the best deals lemme know.

Alright I appriciate that! I did some searching and just kept coming up with stuff for the 5.25, with tht 169pf bullet you said was it smooth? I heard a well loaded 40 round could make the gun feel like a 9mm...and Ike you suggested I read a lot about the tight group powder and all was good, and as for the press I know my press suggestion will be slow but it's weird how much I like doing stuff like that, gets me to my happy place so to speak, just being around the powder and equipment, haha....slow but rewarding at the end...plus when I get done with it and want something bigger and better for my pistol rounds I can make this just my rifle press and setup

I don't have anything, like I said I've owned pistols forever but I've never reloaded for competition, I'm starting this from scratch...I shot my first competitive match a few months ago and got completely interested... Picked up this xdm just for competition last week, so I'm setting it up for limited, when I get better, progress, and learn more ill get me a double stack 2011 but for the time being im decking this little jewel out.I'll be buying the lee 50th anniversary press when I figure out Wat exactly I need, I know the press isn't the best but it'll get me started. And like you said "unless the gun is turned sideways" well I've been practicing with tilting the gun a lot for reloads and just wish it would jump out quicker... Ps, if anybody has xdm limited parts I'd be interested, as well as a speed holster..

While doing a little practice loading and unloading I noticed that my mags just more or less fall outta my gun. Fully loaded or empty, or with 13 in it. Is there anything to install to make the mags just jump out of the gun when I hit the mag release? perhaps different springs or something? Im planning on a new set of 140mm base pads for a new magwell but what other things should I consider doing? Ps, If theres any loads that you would recommend I'd also appreciate that. Getting started in the reload game and help would be awesome. Please just dont use short phrases and assume I know what they are because im BRAND NEW to the different powders and stuff like that. Ive always been a hunter and recoil and things like that have never been an issue, as long as it went fast, made a boom, and brought back some back straps then I gave that brand a thumbs up ha, I know how a bullet works, I know how to reload givin ive got all the correct gear in front of me I.E correct powders primers,bullets, etc. I just want to reduce the recoil in my XDM as low thats safe and still shoot major in USPSA limited. Grouping would be a nice touch to if I can have that also, I know its a little hard to ask for out of a XDM but I can wish?

Wayne's did you install it yourself? Wondering what the difference is in the competition and just the drop In?

That competition trigger is what I've been debating on, the grip and trigger has always been the only things I've disliked about the gun. Already got the prp grip put on.

Looks really good, id actually found a picture of a gun almost identical to yours that got me thinking about the idea. What kinda trigger are you running? And what kinda pull does it have?

I actually saw your gun a few days ago, very good looking port on the slide, how far does it go up? Did you get any sorta numbers on how much weight they took out of it?

Anyone done just a slide port on there 4.5xdm for uspsa limited? If so how do you like it? And was it a noticeable difference?

I just got my new prp grips installed, installed the tape on the f front grip grooves, slide groves,thumb grooves, and trigger guards, so much more comfortable now, I didn't install the back plate tape because it just didn't seem to line up nicely at all, but ready to put some rounds through it with the new feel. I ordered them tue night and had them by atleast Friday maybe Thursday ( had priority shipping and didn't get to the po box until Friday), think I'll be placing another order with prp within the next day or 2.
