I wasnt even aware it came with another follower? Ive been considering getting some grams guts but havnt heard anything from anyone who has them? And I could definitly dig trying another magwell, I just dont shoot with anybody who has a setup XDM so what I buy is what I get to try.

Yessir they do indeed come with new springs.

But dawson did call me yesterday afternoon and I should have my pads within a week. I will be able to tell if they work with the unlimited magwell and I'll also be able to give a comparison to the arrendondo base pads. I can tell you up front I'm excited to try them out, I had an arredondo spring take a $hit on me within 40 rounds, so they already have me hesitant. But I will give an unbias review. And I will abuse these pads right outta the gate (practicing reloads and dropping on hard pack etc, not throwing them against a brick wall) to test them out, Im all about products that work and if I can depend on them after abusing them then I'm more than willing to order more, I already have a practically new mag and ordered another from dawson with my pads so there will be no excuses for anything. Im anxious to see how well there design does when dropping on hard pack, from the pics and descriptions it looks promosing but that latch coming un done is a small concern. But all in all this is my first experiece with dawson and I couldnt be happier, they called me numerous times before id got off work trying to make sure everything was exactly how id wanted all shipping was correct etc...

Jimmy ive been hearing about a new magwell coming from them...I dont know how to attach a magwell better than my unlimited is already connected without making it permanent but if there was a magwell with a backstrap with lower profile I sure wouldnt mind giving it a try, somthing that sits lower on the grip...I'm not complaining about mine because I love it but I've got huge hands and whenever I could free up a little extra room then I'd try it out.

Just like the title says ordered me a few of them to test out, I didnt find anywhere that they wouldnt fit with my pistol gear unlimited magwell so im hoping everythings good to go.

I haven't been able to shoot a round in over a week but I took it all down and got serious with the cleaning, and I mean I always get q tips on it but I even got toothpicks out cleaning it so I'm gonna get some more mag springs in, and some new followers, and try everything out hard and see where we stand. It's not big enough of an issue for me to give my gun up and sit out some matches just to send into Springfield right now, but when I have a few weeks off during the winter months if this problem is still there then I'll send it in. After looking and seeing some tiny tiny brass shavings I'm thinking I may have ordered some bad rounds, with it being spotless and all parts perfect were gonna try and narrow it to the rounds. It's what I'm hoping the problem is, or a limp wrist from time to time.

I've got the pistol gear unlimited with Arredondo base pads and I can't complain a bit, I had one of there springs bind and ruin within a mag or 2 but they may have been my fault due to a dirty follower but I dunno, doesn't make me hesitate to do more business with them and I will be ordering another basepad and springs this next week.

I haven't done anything other than the mags and Magwell, if what your saying about the springs it goes against everything I thought I know about them that's why I was argumentative on the last post? And it's never been the first or second round, during competition it's been at the end of the first mag.

Lighter spring would slow the slide down, but heavier would be unheard of in these guns because yes it would make it go faster but if my mag can't keep up then faster would be worse, if I went to a lighter spring maybe it would counteract it.

Was having one of my best runs thus far in my career (3 matches) at the last match and got to the last 3 targets and had to reload in my transition, pulled the mag out of the pouch threw it on the ground (not intentionally) and luckily just luckily I had enough time before my shoot that I loaded up a third mag, thankfully I had spent hours a day for the past few weeks working on my reloads and I threw the magazine on the ground, grabbed another and reloaded all within 3 seconds so looking back it broke my heart immidietly, but I was happy with my recovery. I believe a brain fart a match will keep the practice continuing. Atleast for a Newb like me.

That'd be one I kept in my wallet for a little while!

Couldnt be better timing, headed on a loooong much needed beach trip and gonna see if i cant knock this thing out on the ipad while im gone, without my gun or a range nearby where were going I thought I was going to start having withdrawls, this book may be my ticket!

Got me stumped

Although ive always sworn off limp wristing, it could very well be a problem. I didnt think I had that problem but with just getting started in this game I've been trying out a bunch of different grips to try and find my edge, and with it only happening during the first round of each match ive mentioned it makes sense because of the nerve factor and other things. I shot another 30-40 through yesterday with no problems but I wasnt practicing I was just working on accuracy so I had a good firm grip the whole time. You also mentioned the reloaded brass, I actually meant to mention this earlier, after shooting the day with the couple failure to loads I looked in the chamber and it looked like some tiny tiny brass shavings, it actually looked like we may have dropped a bullet in the dirt but we didnt. If I had already shot a few bad rounds through it before we loaded up the winchesters then that debree may have caused them to do the same??? Justsomeguy I'm with you on these problems because im having a really hard time believing this gun is already running a warn part. I just whole heartedly believe its a better gun than having malfunctions at 1400 rounds....

rammer jammer Ill get a punch kit ordered! Guess ill need to figure out exactly what else I want first because im not paying the shipping for just those punches! Or its a nice excuse to order something else..haha So has anyone else had to send there gun in and have work done from springfield? hows there turnaround and such?

Has anybody tried a drop in and the competition trigger? If so how did it compare?

I just watched a video of my last match and I counted about 7-8 shots on two hidden swingers I actually hit each one 3-4 times each but I couldnt see the holes in the target so I kept shooting Did it look embarrasing? sure! Did I end up getting all A's? well after 8 shots I sure did, Did it cost me more in time? It sure did. I'm literally just getting started in this sport and swingers are still scaring me, each event I go to I'm seeing new stuff to me, In the past month in 2 matches ive seen a slap runner, a step engaging double swinger, a step engadged double clam shell, a popper engadged clamshell/swinger combo, a hand pull swinger,a popper engaded spinner, and the dreaded texas star, It's all still very much a mind game to me but boy is it fun. If it wasnt then I wouldnt have baked last weekend in 110 degrees to sling some lead sorry this doesnt answer your question at all, I just got to writing and got caught up in all this fun. I dont know the "proper procedure" but yes id have to say i agree with letting it hit its stopping point then take it, I shot all those extra shots because I was chasing it up and down. Hope you get it all figured out.

Anyway the factory recoil spring could be warn out? possibly causing it to bind or does this sound just like an extractor problem? Ive put another 30 through it a day ago and it had no problems, maybe ill load up factory mags and see if I cant get the problem to happen again, if it doesnt and theres no more suggestions then I'm just going to drop this off at a gunsmith and let him give it a once over. It's a minor problem and im sure an easy fix but I just want everything perfect. Ps, how tough are these guns to break down? Any special tools needed or anything? Maybe swapping this extractor out would be a learning experience for myself.
