  1. The M&P9L has been discontinued, so there won't be any more of them cranked out.
  2. Find a custom one. I've used several companies in the past that charged $20-60 for a custom, handfit to THAT GUN kydex holster. There are so many small garage shop kydex holster companies now that a number of them would love a new gun to mold for, as they'll not only make yours, but several others as well. When my gun store got the S&W M&P Shield demo, I was offered cash or a free holster in exchange for letting them borrow it to make holsters.
  3. Oh, I forgot, if you are looking for "Baby Eagle" stuff, be certain it's for the Jericho action, and not the other BE, which is a rebranded Walther 99 / S&W SW99. Nothing I know of is interchangeable with those.
  4. Certain things will work from CZs and EAA Witness', so don't look for gear just labeled "Baby Eagle" or "Jericho". Certain holsters can be made to work with very little/no effort and certain CZ/Witness mags work to varying levels, especially the aftermarket ones.
  5. Also, shooting 9x19s through .40S&Ws tends to work better than the other way around due to the sizing of the extractors on various model firearms, if you only change the barrel & mag. You have to change the slide as well to get a proper extractor for that cartridge. The 9x19 extractor does not like to snap over .40S&W. If you change all 3 (slide/barrel/mag), then you're as good as it's going to get. But anything short of a complete conversion, like JUST THE MAG, is nowhere near safe or reliable.
  6. Bull****. Have your local range officer film and certify this and I will buy you a brand new 92. People drop 9x19s in .40S&Ws all the time, and they absolutely do not work %100. If you tip the gun down and swing up, the cartridge could drop in the barrel too deep and the firing pin won't reach. Tilt the gun up slightly and then fire it, and the cartridge mushrooms, the gun doesn't cycle right, and sometimes needs the brass manually extracted. So yes it will work in an emergency pinch, hell no it's not 100% and telling someone that it is is dangerous. Just like shooting .40S&W in a 10mm Auto, yah it kinda works, DON'T count on it.
  7. Best thing to do to the Glock 34 is to throw it away and buy an S&W M&P9 Pro 5". Jokes aside, it all depends on the rules of the competition you plan on shooting. Certain features are banned from various divisions & matches. No reason to buy optics/comps/mags that are illegal in your game. But I completely agree with the guy who said go get $2500 worth of ammo and burn it up. That BY FAR is the first thing anyone should do. It's 95% about the Indian, 5% about the bow & arrow. To paraphrase someone else on this board, 'The top shooters in this sport would still dominate shooting a Hi-Point tucked into their pants and reloading from an ankle holster".
  8. I read somewhere else in this forum, someone posted about Botach Tactical selling M&P mags for the ridiculously low price of $21.98 & free shipping, and everyone chimed in about how Botach scammed them before. Well I don't know about yalls past experiences, but I saw that deal and decided to give it a go, since $22 is SUSPICIOUSLY CHEAP. My unagi tells me dealer cost on these mags is $27.99 & $30.95 at two major distributors, so if any of you are gun stores, you ought to be making a small investment. I ordered on Tuesday, that's right, just 2 days ago, and I got my mags in the mail today. (2) brand new factory S&W 9mm 17-rd mags. With matte finish and #9 followers, for those of you suspicious. I was actually kinda hoping for the polished ones, but oh well. *disclaimer* I have no relation to Botach Tactical and am not trying to push them at all. Just saying, I got a SCREAMING deal and lightning fast shipping, and if I still had my gun store, I'd probably be ordering another 100 to resell.
  9. How much are you buying them for? I have 3, all black.
  10. The "throwing torture test" was pretty pathetic in that video. As others have said, tossing the gun on the ground is nothing. But running it over with the F150 is a pretty staunch claim of strength. If you're really going for weight reduction, it doesn't make much sense to just get a poly lower, you ought to be lightening the whole rifle. When my GF wanted to shoot 3-gun with me I got her a Bushmaster Carbon-15, the upper & lower are polymer, and the whole thing ended up at like 5 lbs after I was done with it, INCLUDING optics. So if you want to get the lightest AR, you need a poly upper as well, just the lower doesn't do much.
  11. Wow, really? Well, this thread is a little empty, both in heart and content. Short answer: Yes, 1:7 and 1:8 will be so minutely close that a 1:7 barrel is "good enough", don't give it a second thought. You won't ever notice the difference at a match. Long answer: OMFG, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???!!!! 1:7???!!! Let's assume your talking about .223/5.56, you didn't specify caliber, but it's a million to one odds. Heavy metal rifles in .308 have much slower twist rates than .223 ARs for the most part. What ammo do you shoot? Cheap bulk factory by the thousand? Then 55gr it is. Other cheap bulk, 62gr steel core is a no-go for 3-gun targets. The only stuff you'll find in heavier weights (75,77) for cheap is ruskie steel case, which will give you more extraction fits, and is generally poo-pooed by us patriotic Americans. For 55gr, the slower twist rates will be better suited, but only slightly. At the typical distances stages will be set up, you won't even be able to overstabilize varmint grain weight bullets so bad that it matters at all. Next, how are accurate do you consider yourself? Remember, 3-gun rifle targets are generally engaged in one of 3 positions; offhand, improvised prone, and improvised barrier support. These are not inherently accurate positions and you don't have a lot of time to futz with them, so your technique will affect your accuracy 1000x more than the difference between 1:7 and 1:8.
  12. I did check the FAQ regarding double stack 1911 frame/mag compatibility, and Armscor / Rock Island isn't listed. Anybody know what platform they used for their 1911A2 style guns? I just picked up an old early Armscor 1911A2 and it only came with 1 13-rd mag. At first glance I'm thinking Para, but not sure...
  13. Well I haven't actually RECEIVED the gun yet, online purchase. I had a frame mounted rail for a 1911 that you could see the iron sights under it. It was one of those old 90 degree C-More style mounts. I'm curious to see how much air is under that mount, I plan on getting a reflex style sight, and I'm hoping I can get 3 glowing fiber optic green dots UNDER a Fastfire or similar. But either way, I don't actually plan on running this gun in any matches, I just BOUGHT as so. The reason I actually wanted it was to test out a new custom part that I'm working on. More details on that to follow once I get the patent started.
  14. Amen to that. I'm a big Glock/imports in general hater myself, carry a 1911 and usually run an M&P9 Pro 5", but I got this whole setup for LESS than what a brand new stock one sells for. I figure even if I discover I hate this one as much as all the others, it can either join the closet with my other Glocks or get turned around for my moneys worth easily.
  15. So I just bought this open div Glock 17, can you spot the problem? As for a solution, right now the only thing I've got handy at the moment is an old Aimpoint 5000. A definite step up, but I'll probably want another Fastfire / Deltapoint here pretty soon... But since it's already set up like this, I'm not even going to consider milling the slide and losing that FO sight, the frame mounted rail is just going to have to do.
