I like the statement "drive the gun". It means you control the shot and not letting the gun force the 2nd shot. By driving the gun you eliminate many mistakes.
Tough habits to learn but its all in being safe. I rest my trigger finger on the ejection port. Provides a positive identifable place to put the finger.
Another good remedy is a teaspoon or so of 160 proof white lighting. doesn't get you drunk but its amazing how the arthitis pains ease up. Granny on Beverly Hillbilies had it right.

I've been out to watch some IDPA and recently shot a classifier and was very disappointed in my expectations of myself. Never been a good test taker. It's a lot harder than it looks :-)
