  1. Will be in pigeon forge, Tennessee, is there any good reloading supply stores in the area? Mike
  2. Are there any rules or direction given for stage design? Just curious if stage design will favor practical or factory magazine or shotgun tube capacity? Just thinking if you have higher round counts then you force a pistol mag. Change which requires an extra pistol mag and pouch and same for shotgun which may mean extra shell caddy. So, not sure if there is any savings if you have buy an extra mag and mag pouch + maybe an extra she'll caddy vs 1 extended basepad and same cost for shotgun tube whether it is a 8 or 10 round tube. Much of the need will be stage design. So if stage design never forced a mag change and shotgun stages were in 9 round stages then there is no need to have the extra rounds in the pistol or shotgun. Just sayin cost could be controlled by stage design rules to certain degree??? Mike
  3. What Maintance in the way of cleaning your comp's do you do! What method and freq. to prevent the carbon build up? Mike
  4. Maybe VV powders vary a lot with temp? As I am using VV N320. I wonder what Atlanta Arms is using? Does anybody have any chrono data on the Atlanta Arms .40 minor out of a STI edge besides my data above? Is it normally a very low pf load? Mike
  5. Here is my data for 5 shot strings. All from the same setup with no changes to my 550b & shot back to back using STI edge. Conditions: cloudy, 42.3F, 62% RH, 39.16" barometer pressure, air density 100.4 Reloads from a month ago 5 shot ave. OAL 1.187 fps ave. 715 pf 128.8 180 gr zero JHP using N320 Reloaded 12-27-14 OAL 1.183 fps ave. 782 pf 140.8 180 gr zero JHP using 4.1 grs n320 OAL 1.184 fps ave. 855 pf 153.97 180 gr BBI Flat nose using 4.1 grs n320 OAL 1.126 fps ave. 677 pf 121 180 gr Atlanta Arms TCI minor Not sure why OAL decreased from a month ago nor can I understand why the month older reloads had a refuced pf. Again I made no adjustments to the dillion machine except add primers. Would the Dillion machine vary that much in powder dispense? I thought a month ago I was actually getting 4.3 gr. but since I was going to chrono these rounds I recali rated my beam scale with the rcbs weights and measured each of the rounds. I did not change the powder adjustment however. I am also surprised the Atlanta Arms were below 125. I was expecting 130 or so. So, everything thing seems about 7~10 pf lower than I was expecting. Rounds and powder were inside until I shot with the BBI being the last rounds fired and the old reloads the first. Would in the course of 20 minutes from 1st shot to last shot vary that much due to temp? I am just saying as the older month reloads were shot first and the BBI last And the power factor seemed to increase with each group shot. If I repeated this again in 85F high humidity, high barometric pressure and lower air density of 89% what would I expect to see? Thanks & Happy New Year! Mike
  6. Does a high air density (100.4) along with cool temps (42 F), low barometer pressure 29" effect power factor? Or does the air density reduce the veloicity? Seems like my loads had a lower than expected PF? I am thinking the air density is the biggest effect. Also how will OAL effect velocity? Shorter is faster if same bullet, & powder? I trying to understand my data and how it all relates. Thanks, Mike
  7. Steve, How does the recoil feel between those 2 bullets? Mike
  8. Using 4.3 gr of vv 320n 180 JHP zero bullet, 1.186 OAL. Not sure pF but guess 140 range. If I just switch nothing but the bullet to 180 BBI bullet do you see any problems ? Any idea on what pF that should yield assuming this is safe recipe? How would recoil feel between the bullets? If I want to keep pf same how much would I need to reduce the powder to make the BBI bullet equal the zero JHP? I hope Santa brings me a chrono so I can get data on these loads! Thanks, Mike

  10. Manually hold bolt lock button and fire last round from magazine. If it locks open it may mean you are still over gassed. Start closing the gas valve until you slow the bolt down enough for catch to work. Mike
  11. I read where some believe the 147 gr is the softest shooting in terms of recoil while other competition shooters like snappy feel of the 124 gr bullets. I am talking of 125 to 130 PF loads. So would the 135 gr be a good compromise or what do people generally think about 135 gr bullets? Also, do coated bullets like BBI cause cleaning problems in barrels, specifically a glock g34 stock barrell? Thanks, Mike
  12. ALRAY, PM your e-mail and I can get you some photo's early next week of the loading port opened up on our M2 20ga. Thanks, Mike
  13. Blue jacket, Do you have to clean the barrel differently than jacketed?
  14. Not to side track this but if you use a bullet like Black Bullet International do you need to take extra care with the barrel or cleaning vs. jacketed bullets?
  15. C-rums did my 20 ga. Great job, runs flawless! Mike
  16. Eku justice , What recipe do you use for .40 minor ? What recoil spring weight? Mike
  17. Ok, now seeing the jäger heavy guide rod for Gen 4 G34 . For light loads 11lb , heavier loads 13 lb springs? Or is one preferred over another? Any risk for frame damage if too light a spring and a heavier 145. PF load? I am going to try and work up a 125 - 130 PF load so would be looking for the best spring for this type of load. Thanks, Mike
  18. What kind of adapter and where do you find an adapter? Mike
  19. Do you generally replace the recoil spring at the. 5000 rd mark with the stock dual captured spring? Or is there better replacement setup? I still have to satisfy the SSP idpa rules, but pistol is used to shoot steel with minor loads. Thanks Mike
  20. Doesn't Tommy Thacker and Greg Jordan both shoot an A5? Mike
  21. Iceman, Yes, but when do you need it to protect the slide from cracking vs optional per Shooter's preference ? Mike
  22. Tooth and Nail, How much for one of those?
  23. Installed a 11 lb spring with the Dawson tool less guide rod, no problems in match today. Just curious if I need the shok buff or not. Would guess I shooting 140-150 PF. Mike
  24. How do you know when a shok buff is necessary? For example. If I am shooting 150 PF with a 10 or 11lb recoil spring would I need it or not? Mike
