  1. ACME 200 grn bullet, N320 = 4.0 grn, 1.135", FED brass, Tanfo Elite Limited, PF=171 at Area 8.
  2. A crappy photo but hope this helps. You see a slight bulge at the bottom but there is no coke bottle shape in the middle.
  3. That is a good point. I will keep my eyes on that risk. Thanks I am using Henning's Extended FP but it has not gotten any longer lately. I should change the FP spring, tho. Thanks
  4. You should send them a friendly customer feedback. They are good people and appreciate that.
  5. No it did not burn my hands but I felt some stings on them. They did not look pretty with those black square marks on them (carbon whatever came through the openings and left marks on my hands)! Double charge would be totally a different story I am afraid.
  6. I just installed one on my 650 and reloaded 40cal. The difference in resistance, compared to EGW U-Die, is day and night. Especially when I pulled the case from the funnel, there was no more 'suction' from the funnel. Much easier on the arm!! The Coke Bottle shape is GONE. There is a slight GLOCK bump remaining at the bottom but my ammo looks pretty much like factory ammo. 100% Yield. I am very satisfied with it. At some point, I would compare it with the Dillon factory die. If the Redding DR Die is superior, I would get one for 9mm and 45ACP as well.
  7. I love my SCALE grips but when I had a case rupture in my gun on a couple of occasions, it was not fun. My palms got black square patterns on them.
  8. That is pretty short I trust that you did not get hurt.
  9. WOW!! Are you using a Tanfo Limited? What powder and how much? I am not sure if my gun/ magazines takes COL 1.150". These incidents started about a month ago. Before then, no problem. I kinda feel something else has changed.
  10. The brand of brass is unknown. It could have been anything from a range. And the bottom is gone. I have only mods done to the gun (Elite Limtied, 40cal) - a Henning extended firing pin and some reduced power springs. I have removed the FP block as it was causing some problem at one point. I am using CCI small primers without pressure signs. WIth 4.0 grains of N320, I am getting 840-ish fps.
  11. Team, A month ago at a local match, I had a brass failure/ rupture. It went "pushuu" in my gun and the bottom of the brass was dislodged from the body. I am 120% sure it was not due to a double charge. Looking at what was left (see the photos), it seemed that the gun fired out of battery as there was a little bulge and split on it. Yesterday, there was another one. Not as significant as the last one. It went "pushuu" again lightly but there was no brass rupture but my face got blasted by a bunch of debris. I use a case gage and do 100% check with it. Checking the gun, I do not see anything unusual. The hammer falls even with the slide slightly out of battery (about 1/4") but it seems normal with the Tanfo hand guns (I confirmed that w/ a Stock 2 from someone at the end of the match yesterday). Anything that I should check out? Is it purely bad luck with aged/ stressed brass cases? Thanks in advance COL = 1.135" VV N320 4.0gr (170pf) 200gr bullet Undersize Die
  12. I have been using ACME bullets for months and am very satisfied with their products. And I recently had an excellent unexpected customer support from them. Buy with confidence!!
  13. I just got a pair and LOVE it. Not aggressive at all yet super grippy when squeezed.
  14. Sorry about layman's question but what are benefits of doing this slide lightening? Felt recoil reduction? Faster cycling?
  15. I bought some 40SW recently and noticed that the color of the coating is darker and the coating looks more durable. There is absolutely no damage to the coating as I see the bullets in the shipping bag. Pretty impressive.
  16. Thanks. After some serious "negotiation" with the slide and trigger, I was finally able to remove it. What the pain! There is only a small sweet spot to do the job.
  17. Just received a Sphinx SDP Compact. Very nice indeed! I want to clean it before going out for the first shoot this coming weekend but can NOT remove the slide from the frame. Holy smokes.. The manual says that I need to decock the hammer, align the two lines, remove the slide stop, move the slide forward until it stops and then pull the trigger LIGHTLY while simultaneously moving the slide forward. The slide does not want to move any more forward. Reassembled, racked the slide and then attempted to remove the slide again to no avail. What is the trick? Should not be this hard to remove the slide. Thanks in advance.
  18. Thank you very much for your feedback!
  19. Sorry to bring this old thread back up. I am considering a SDP compact but the nearest authorized dealer is 2 hours away from where I live, so I would like to learn as much about the gun as possible before I hit the road. I have watched many videos and read pages of reviews but one thing I would still like to know is the trigger reach = from the back of the grip right below the beaver tail to the trigger when the gun is set in DA (de-cocked). Can anyone help me out?? If the reach is way too long, I would not even go and hold it in my hand as I have small hands. I am also considering a CZ P-01 as it fits in my hand nicely and the trigger is practically "reachable" in DA (decocked). If anyone has both, please compare both for the trigger reach. Thanks in advance.
  20. Chronoed my load with N320 today. 62 DEG Tanfo Elite Limited (4.75") ACME 200gr (Actual AVE = 198) FED once fired brass CCI primer COL= 1.135 4.06 grains (40.6 grains/10 charges) AVE = 865 StDev = 4 Out of 20 shots First time loading with N320 and was very impressed by its consistency. And I now know what "clean burning" is like.
  21. I installed one on my Elite Limited. It was tight fit when I installed (I had to use a punch..) but it is now floating in the gun as intended. It is a nice small part.
  22. I wanted to get a FB FPB from EGW for my 1911 but they do not offer one for the adjustable rear sight. I emailed them asking if they would offer one in the future and was told "No plan". I am anxious to try one out on my Tanfo as well, so I shall email them. One of my shooting pals got one on his 1911 and he loves "its recoil impulse". With a 23lb main spring and 14lb recoil spring in the gun, I could barely rack the slide. Table start (empty gun) would be very interesting.
