  1. Hope the best for us all. I luckily put my jp-15 order in right after hurricane sandy. Just waiting now and trying to stock up on ammo...gl
  2. Send to Benny. Put 140 rounds through it at my first match plus slugs...flawless.
  3. Mr. Hill did my VM Tactical, and the workmanship and result was awesome. Glad I did it...I don't plan on extending the tube, so I am good to go and don't regret the VM Tactical.
  4. I recently agonized over what to get for 3 Gun. Decided on a JP-15 blindly based upon positive reviews from forums, my use - competition only, and the ability to stretch my budget a bit with the intent of "buy once, cry once." I'm eagerly awaiting to see if it was worth it...
  5. Thank you all for posting. It is very helpful.
  6. Just a noob question, but what is the purpose of dry firing as a training exercise? I am doing it on occasion but want to know what I should be focusing on.
  7. I had Triangle Shooting Sports Lighten, Flute and Cut my bolt while doing the other lifter/carrier work because it was recommended by them. All I can say is that the shotgun runs very smooth (better than when stock) and that I have had zero issues. Previously, I had some hang ups with Target loads when stock. I am not one to work on the shotgun myself...

Thanks. Is there any proof on the mag or is it just traced back to production? Just curious...

    CZ Magazine Help

Well, the bug has bitten, and now I find myself addicted to 3 guns instead of one. I need some help. Do high cap (over 10) magazines exist for the Shadow Custom Target that are pre 1994?
  12. How about a JP15 in this mix?

Remington, Winchester, Beretta, etc. has to fit you. If it does not fit, it is worthless. Shooting clays, the shotgun is just an extension of your eyes/head that are fixed to the stock. The bead/sight are nothing more than an alignment check. I Love my 391 Field because of the fit - like a glove. I pick it up, and it is right there. I like it more than the other brands really because I like the weight, balance, recoil (lack of) and overall smooth action. Just my preference. BTW, I shoot skeet and sporting clays with my 391. For IPSC Shotgun, I use a Remington Versa Max.
  14. This weekend I have my first Shotgun Match. My stock VersaMax Tactical is a bear to load, pinching my thumb and just stubborn, so I sent it to the folks at Triangle Shooting Sports. They took care of the Carrier/Lifter, made their adjustments, opened the loading port (IT IS HUGE), tweaked the safety and lightened/fluted the bolt. She Ran flawless running federal target loads shooting 3 rounds of skeet as my dry run. Tried my Carbon Arms Twins for the first time, and could not believe how quickly I could load the shotgun without any practice or experience "loading 2." Really happy with the results... Mike

    Congrats and enjoy!
  16. Thanks for the info regarding the dot vs the scope. I was thinking of an Eotech. The Club uses brown IDPA/USPSA targets. The backgrounds to the shooting stations are mostly sand berms, so the background is a light tone. I think I saw good reviews on an MTAC 1-4, but I believe that is also a red dot? My only concern on the scope is that these targets were very close, and boy I don't want any blackouts trying to shoot those A's that are a few feet away! I would consider Irons, but keep thinking that some optic will be more of an advantage overall.
  17. Good points, which I am thinking about... The facts are the facts: Use: 3 matches a year with some range shooting in between Distance: The Club that has the events may have some longer range targets, but this one event had really close targets. USPSA Pistol style. The max at this match had to be 50, maybe 65 yards. I doubt more than 100yds ever, but 200 could be possible on one stage.
  18. Thank you Pat. The 3G is pretty much my limit on the price, so that is good to know.
  19. Shot my first 3 gun the other weekend and loved it. Borrowed my friends stock AR. All was well. I plan on shooting local events only, so really only 3 events a year. The targets were all relatively close range (50 yards and under with many being very close). So my thoughts are a Stag Model 3 with Red Dot tbd. Also Considering the plus package, cause it seems like it is worth it. The question is, would spending the extra 500 dollars on the 3 G model be worth it or overkill for a noob? Thanks in advance!
  20. You should be! I recently got mine and am a new pistol shooter. Shot it about 3 times and this weekend went to my first USPSA shoot. By the 6 and 7th stage, I really started to just feel comfortable with the gun. At first when I got it, I was like "well, this is pretty ordinary" and now after shooting it a few times and participating in a match, I realize it is simply an awesome tool that really gets the job done. And that is why I love it...
  21. As others have mentioned, Stopping the Gun and keeping your head on the stock are two big fundamentals. The next one is shoot where you look. (assuming the gun fits you right) I am a clays shooter and now just venturing into Pistol and Rifle. Totally opposite sight pictures. In clays, after I shoulder, all I see is the clay with a hard focus on the bird. The shotgun is simply an extension of where I am looking. I can do this because I have the general fundamentals of mounting the gun and knowing it is pointing where I am looking. Keeping my head on the stock retains this aim without need for me to focus on the sights at all. I dont even need the sights. I do need the gun to fit me right. In pistol and rifle, as I was told by others, my hard focus is mainly on the sights. This so far seems to be accurate. I'm no clay champion, but I can tell you that a Cylinder choke or a flat aiming gun would not prevent me from hitting birds consistently (trap/sporting, whatever). Those factors may make you lose a couple of birds, but the true meaning of the miss generally comes from one of the other factors. Good luck, and you do know when you have it when you stop thinking and just shoot (as others have said).
  22. Congrats! I hope to be calling Stuart soon...just waiting for a piece of paper to arrive...
