  1. An email was already sent out to the shooters, but I wanted to post it here in case anyone else was interested. Stages were posted to our website a few weeks ago (http://charlestonuspsa.com/blue-bullets-2016-sc-state-championship/stages/). Our goal is to post the final matchbook to the website this weekend.
  2. That's definitely not what I am doing here. All rounds are being plunk tested. I only looked to the factory ammo as one data point to reference to see where things might be going wrong. It's a problem that I was chasing for quite a while one night while trying to find a round that worked. Tried multiple OALs, multiple bullets, and multiple crimps. I just received my U Die, and have not yet been home for along enough period to drop it into the toolhead and test it out to see if that might be the problem. I'll report back once I have done that.
  3. Factory Glock 17 and 33rd mags. I tried both 125GR Round Nose Blue Bullets and 124gr JHP Montana Golds. Result was the same for both. As far as the load issue goes --- I just purchased an EGW U die to try out. I use one with my .40 reloads, but never needed it with my 9mm. I am hoping that solves the problem. I'll report back in a few days.
  4. Waitlist update : The waitlist for both days is really short now. Last I checked, we had 6 on Saturday and 4 on Friday. We are at the point where we start seeing people drop from the match ahead of the refund deadline (March 1st). If you are interested in shooting the match but have not yet signed up, go ahead and register to get yourself on the waitlist. We plan to get the matchbook posted to the website about 30 days before the match start date.
  5. Edit -- ignore my stupid question.
  6. That is what I had initially thought. My reloads were 1.135 OAL. The factory I was using was 1.13OAL. I dropped my OAL down to 1.125 and I am still having the problem.
  7. I picked up the PSA AR-9 lower and upper that uses Glock mags few weeks ago for use with Steel Challenge and eventually (hopefully) USPSA. For the most part, it runs great. I have two odd issues though. The mag seems to really hang up when trying to insert it unless you get it at just the perfect angle. Anyone else notice this, or do I have something weird going on with mine? It's taking a lot of practice to get a decently quick reload with this thing. Also -- I'm having an issue getting the right reloads nailed down. It'll shoot the loads I use in my G34 and my 9mm 1911 just fine, but the only way to get a round out of the chamber is to fire it out. You can't extract it with pulling the charging handle (unless you want to use pliers, a hammer, and possibly your foot too). I tried a few factory rounds, and I don't seem to have that problem with those. It seems like that I need to crimp the heck out of the bullet to get it to extract. Any suggestions on a good optic for this thing? I am using a cheap Aimpoint clone for now. I was thinking about throwing one of my CMores on it, but I was curious to see what everyone else was running. And --- Any suggestions for a really light weight rifle length handguard that won't break the bank? I'm going to take off the A2 front sight post and plastic handguard, and I want to get this thing as light as possible.
  8. Non-payment noticed went out earlier this week. We are already starting to work our way through the long Saturday waitlist. 40 people were on the list, and we are down to 30 right now. We will continue to make progress on that as people either withdraw or get dropped for non-payment. For those on the Friday waitlist : The list is short, but it isn't going to move until after we finalize stages. We will be releasing a lot of the extra reserved staff spots once we get an idea of exactly how many staff we want per stage. This will happen the first week in February.
  9. Just an update for everyone : Both days now have a waitlist. Saturday's list is getting long, but Friday's list is very short. We have a ton of Friday spots that are currently reserved for staff, and some of those will be released to competitors. I expect to be able to process the Friday waitlist with ease. If you would like to know where you currently are on the waitlist, or if you have any questions about your registrations --- please send me an email. I can be reached at pgcuspsa@gmail.com . I'm waiting until after the holidays to start sending out payment reminders. If you have not paid, you'll get one email around the 4th of January reminding you. If you don't pay or at least respond to the email to let me know you need some more time to get your payment in, you'll get a final email and a phone call 7 days later before I drop you. I am going to do my best to get positive contact from someone before they are dropped. I know that email gets lost of overlooked sometimes -- so, I'll be dialing numbers to check in with people before I hit that "withdraw" button. We have some great sponsors lining up this year! I'll be posting up the sponsor information here and on our website once we get some things finalized.
  10. For anyone signing up and trying to squad --- there is a bug that is causing all of the Friday squads to show as full. I have emailed support about this. I'll will post again when things have been worked out.
  11. Some quick notes for those that registered / are looking to register. - We have plenty of Friday slots open - Saturday is full as of right now, and we have started a waitlist. For anyone that registered for Saturday and wasn't able to squad on one of the Saturday squads, you have been placed on the waitlist in the order in which you registered. - if you have not already registered, I suggest you do so ASAP. The faster you get on the waitlist for Saturday, the better the chance that you will get a slot. - We expect slots to open up on Saturday, but it might take a bit of time. We have some slots that we reserved for sponsors. If those slots are not used, they will be released to those people on the waitlist. We are also exploring other ways to make sure that everyone gets an opportunity to shoot on Saturday.
  12. Don't forget -- registration opens tonight at 7pm. Link is posted at http://charlestonuspsa.com/2016registration.html
  13. Thanks. That falls in line with what I am seeing elsewhere now.
  14. What is the proper naming convention for the USPSA divisions when creating a match on the Practiscore website? I note that there are two places where divisions get listed --- once is on the match setup screen and once is on the registration page. I want to make sure I am listing them out correctly so that when I create the activity file and webfile using the iOS version of Practiscore, everything works without issue. I've got this question posted elsewhere -- if I get an answer before someone figure it out here, I'll post it up.
  15. The registration link will be posted here : http://charlestonuspsa.com/2016registration.html Bookmark that page if you want a quick way to access the registration link. We will be opening registration on December 2nd at 7pm EST Edit : I'll have a bunch of information about the match posted to the webpage tomorrow by noon. Price, draft squadding matrix and schedules, format, etc will all go up tomorrow.
  16. Thanks! Glad to hear it --- and, we hope to make this year even better than last year.
  17. We've had it posted to the USPSA match schedule for the last 6 months now, but I figured it was time to get things rolling here. The Blue Bullets 2016 South Carolina State Championship match will be held at Palmetto Gun Club outside of Charleston, SC on April 8th and 9th, 2016. We'll have 9 stages + chrono. Registration will go live on December 2nd, 2016 at 7pm, and the registration link will be posted here, on the SC Section and Charleston USPSA Facebook pages, and on http://www.charlestonuspsa.com . More information will be available on http://www.charlestonuspsa.com shortly.
  18. I emailed the National's coordinator at HQ early yesterday morning. She said she had no idea when registration would be, but that she would try to find out and get back to me. I then called Universal Shooting Academy figuring that they would know since their range is being rented for this purpose. The person who answered said that they had nothing to do with the match other than being the host facility, and that I would have to ask someone at HQ. I guess I'll just assume it closes at 6pm as stated above. Trying to plan out when my group and I need to start the ~8 hour drive down there on Saturday. At least we have the luxury of adjusting our departure time easily. I feel bad for those that are flying in and have not been given this information sooner.
  19. The only thing posted recently pertaining to this match is the list of stages. I have seen nothing else.
  20. Anyone have any idea what time registration is going to be open on Saturday? I sure would love to be able to plan out what time I need to get down there .....
  21. Yeah --- the last stage will be interesting as well. I went out and shot my club's rack. My time difference between 25 yard freestyle and 25 yard weakhand is pretty wide.
  22. We sometimes give some leniency to a brand new shooter through a little coaching (if the shooter requests it), but reshoots/restarts should only occur according to the rule book. A level 1 competition is still a competition. You are not going to learn if someone keeps giving you handouts. Since I think there are a few people that shoot my matches in this thread, I want to ask one thing. If any of this is happening at my match --- please let me know. This is something that I'd correct in a hot second if I knew it was going on at my match.
  23. Well -- I know what I am practicing this weekend. ... at least it isn't weak hand only.
  24. Shooter's Connection hands down. You can't beat their shipping speed. Their prices are great, and their customer service is outstanding. We got some of those bad perf targets, and they made right on it very quickly. Great company to deal with. Their pasters are also good quality. They'll always have my business.
