  1. You're right. I don't think I was asking about length though.
  2. My current 14.5 cabine length recoils a lot more than my brother's 14.5 mid-length with the same SureFire brake . With his rifle, my splits are cut in half on same target size/distances.. I'm just wondering If anyone here knows by experience if the lightweight barrels are durable enough or has a short life? Or looses accuracy when hot?
  3. Currently building my second AR. Looking to get a 14.5 inch or a 16 inch barrel mid-length. I'm looking into getting a lightweight but guys locally here don't seem to use it. They feel that it is not durable enough. just wondering if it's true.
  4. Once in a great while, from the draw, I'll get a bad grip. Even though I know this I will just continue to shoot ( why?!) during this moment I tell myself to concentrate harder on my sights. At the end of the course of fire, most times , I'll shoot clean but will get Deltas and add couple of seconds. But this past match I had a stage that had 2 mikes and maybe additional 5 seconds to my time. Some causes to this is could be awkward start positions and/or excessive ProGrip. I want to know what you guys doing . Do you train with a bad grip? Do you simply adjust(add a second or few to your time) ? Or just shoot ?
  5. How's about increasing grip strength ? More effective in reducing muzzle lift than "stuffs" in IMHO .
  6. I don't think spring pressure got anything to do with barrel lock-up.... maybe how well the slide goes into battery. A Glock with good barrel lock up will in fact aid the gun to stay in complete battery while running light recoil springs.
  7. Gun assembled and in battery , pushing down the top (chamber area) with thumb while other thumb and index finger pinches the gap between the frame and slide. There should be NO movement between that gap just by feel (so far , never found an out-of-the-box Glock pass this. The closest was a friend's gen4 G34 ) . If you see movement at the hood ,I consider that a very loose barrel ( very common)..I can't post pics at the moment because I'm not home in the USA, I'm out internationally going to shoot an Asia Glock Invitational.. I'm sure there are good 1911 gunsmiths in your area that could show you what a "locks up like a vault" like. Anyways that's what I was thought, and just applied that same principal to the Glock.. Do you have some good data with before and after accuracy testing? Well sort of . Just angry (before) faces . And happy( after) faces. If only I had the time to type all the stories behind every Glock I've done this to..... A local G17 owner(not a practical shooter) was very sceptic about this when someone told him to come see me about the accuracy problem he was having. He refused. 2 aftermarket barrels any a year later he came to see me ;-) .

  9. What do you think Glock would say if you complained about the accuracy ? Hmmm
  10. What good is an aftermarket barrel if the lock-up is loose? I know of two shooters that actually wanted to get rid of their Glocks because they couldn't get the accuracy they wanted even AFTER installing a new aftermarket barrel , then keep changing to ANOTHER aftermarket brand without results. ( lucky for them I knew the fix and know how to TIG) . They even wanted me to keep it a secret !!!! Actually he many of YOU are guilty of this? Why even waste your time trying/testing different powder and bullet combos if the barrel is loose?? Why ? Why ? Seriously, I really dont think that even a "gunsmith fit barrel " is necessary!! The drop-in with a tight lock-up is perfect . I use aftermarket barrel only because I shoot lead. The OEM is perfect for jacketed because of its faster twist rate......
  11. BARREL LOCK-UP !!!!! Have someone add material to the lower locking lug of the barrel... TIG weld ..... Factory or Aftermarket Even some aftermarket barrels( gunsmith-fit) doesn't have enough material at the lug. Some frames are tight and some are loose...
  12. What video editing software was used to increase the speed just a bit? Id like to do that to my vids too .
  13. I buy my Glocks in pairs ........the wifey still gotta get her own though ;-P
  14. Pricey, thumb biters and complicate manual of arms - even owners of Benellis sometimes find themselves yanking on the charging handle uselessly wondering where the shells have gone. Thanks!!! I know my 1911s/2011s , Glocks, and ARs . But don't know jack on shotguns..... Something new for me
  15. How's about Benelli m4 or the FN shotgun? Any of you guy using those ? Reliable?
  16. We were thinking of providing the ammo that would work best for that shotgun ( charge shooters for the ammo ) .
  17. My club is looking to buy a shotgun or two . To be used as prop guns in MG matches. We have held only 2gun(pistol/rifle) so far . We want to do 3gun but the majority doesnt own shotgun yet. We don't know what to buy . Saiga 12 is a NO . We are looking to get semi-auto . What would you suggest and why? Want something reliable .thanks in advance !
  18. Actually , I have thought of using 12v actuators from automotive systems such as door locks and use horn pressure pads for switches. But was never sure if electronics was legal to use in USPSA or IPSC. You just brought back an old thought of mines. Thanks :-)
  19. Don't use bowling pins! Ricochets and such not nice of those. Ideas... 1. Use a Clay (or even a piece of charcoal) to hold up a piece of wood. Shoot clay, wood falls pulls pin...move. 2. Use a prop gun, like a .38 spl with wadcutters on the steel activator. Didnt know that bowling pins could ricochet. Thanks I really like both ideas . Now I would just have to MacGyver #1
  20. Thought about that . But really wanted target activating target
  21. My club is having a carbine match in a couple of weeks. Our range max distance is 50yds. I'd like to use moving targets such as swingers and running man , but can't use steel to activate them. I don't want to use the step-on type. Was thinking of using bowling pins. Any other suggestions? Ideas?

    G35 in IPSC ( rules)

I won't sacrifice quality sights for a couple of rounds. Well, that's just me. What is Gk? Glock brand?
  23. Goin out of the US to shoot in a GLOCK invitational level 3 in a few months. My G35 has a JP magwell and DP rear adjustable sight . And my mags has the Lightning Strike extended base pads(not the +2).With the rear sight depressed, mag inserted, it seems that the height is 149mm. I'm planning to get the Lightning Strike +2's. Does anyone here have a similar set up thats IPSC legal? Is the +2's same height as the plain extended ones? Or are there other brands that will add a few rds and still fit in the box? Thanks .
