  3. There was a pretty neat backstory to that Hi Point... I wonder if the person I heard it from will come in and tell it so I don't leave anything out.

  9. Hey there this is Jason Fagan, the photographer in the boonie hat that was zipping around on the pit bike. [waves] What a fun match! Way to go Madison and Staff! Congrats to all the division winners and top finishers in their classification! I ended up working with another photographer there named Jason Rausch (Chad's Rausch's brother) and we tried to cover as much as we could. I have all the images and have been filling orders from the weekend since I woke up at 615AM (less a little nap after lunch) and am getting ALL 2388 images prepped for upload. I will post back when that is complete. They will be resized down to 800x600 medium web quality as it would not be fair to those who paid for images if I gave full Q images away the next day. If you see a picture you want email me the IMG_# and I will crop a section of the full quality file out and email it to you to proof. The full resolution images in all their glory are amazing and could be printed 30x20" no problem. If you find just one image of yourself let me know the image number so I can see who you are, then I can scan quickly the whole archive locally and find if there are any more of you in just a few minutes. I had about 35 orders onsite Fri-Sun, and everyone so far has been very happy! 740-475-7984 or jason *at* jasonfagan *daught* com
  10. So are you the new owner of 'Briar Rabbit'...? I heard something about BR changing hands at the last local Central-Ohio-ish USPSA match... : )
  11. I shot my first rifle handloads with a motorcycle helmet and safety glasses on and my friend had 9-1- already typed in on his phone. Seriously! This is rocket science after all with 60k PSI all up in your face...! Like everyone said if you are following established loads, you have good attention to detail, and worked in a sterile environment with no distractions you will be G2G...
  12. That's good advise, Sarge! Very nice of you to take the time to advice him like that.
  13. My new production Vibra Prime (FAVP) is fantastic!!! I don't run the top cover at all for large or small pistol or rifle due to as stated above you can't remove without pulling tube. No issues with flipped primers, sometimes they go sideways over the tube but if I tilt the unit it re-levels and drops. Probably loaded 1500-2000 since I got my FAVP not one flipped primer in loaded ammo..
  14. "You, however, I’m not so sure about. And my next door neighbor. I’m not so sure about him either. I’d like to know a bit more about him before he takes possession of an M-16 and a whole lot of extra clips. If we accept the proposition that that a gun is simply a tool—with potentially lethal properties—it follows that it’s not too different than a vehicle. And I would like to know a LOT more about you before I’m comfortable putting you behind the wheel of a sixteen wheeler. I’d like to know if you’re a maniacal drunk or crackhead before allowing you to barrel down that highway with three tons of trailer swinging behind you. If you favor an aluminum foil hat as headgear, I would have concerns about entrusting you with so much power to harm so many in so little time. That’s a reasonable thing for a society to ponder on, I think." He is not a numbers or terminology guy apparently. A sixteen wheeler with a 3 ton trailer. That's not even a big amateur race trailer setup. Try an 18-wheeler with about a 30 ton trailer - lots more of those rolling around... Don't forget the M-16 and lots of 'clips'...
  15. I know I'm way younger than ya'll - but I've been told I have an old soul. I'll play. And I've seen them in person three times - as of a year or two ago they were still touring regularly and hitting the Newport in Columbus once a year. Slicked back grey hair and effin sweating it out - playing that guitar a thousand miles per hour - Mr. Trower...
  16. Impact Guns had two of them in at 1005AM EST today - I noticed the email at 1015AM EST and called a buddy who tried to purchase at about 1050AM - gone... It showed two in stock at 1015AM... YOU ALL ARE NOT HELPING ME BRING NEW PEOPLE INTO LOCAL 3G MATCHES...!! : )

  18. Awesome - knew I joined SCSA for a reason! : ) Any chance this coincides with a hog roast like last year? THAT was epic...!
  19. I would have not necessarily though that it would break parts which is what the OP was inferring... shot USPSA match today mine ran great. It was high primers for me.
  20. I was the RO / photographer in question above. I managed to shoot pictures of many shooters on stage nine where I was working. I also had a brief hour a day Sat/Sun to run around and shoot some images on other stages. Here is a link to a Google+ Photo Album with about 500 images. This gallery is sized down to screen sized 800x600 or so images. If you want to use the small resized version from this gallery for an avatar or something, feel free. If anyone wants to purchase the full size 18+ megapixel image file suitable for printing or publishing, please let me know. I can also add graphics, sponsor logos, names, stage score or time, etc., to the images. I can crop in for a nice tight 'head and handgun' shot. Just let me know. If interested, PM me then we can take it to email. I hope to be there next year as the official match photographer. 21. Everything went bang! I'm thinking that a dime under the priming punch and a little more force solved the issue.
  22. Well I just finished running 100 left over rounds from last weeks Ohio State match, back through my LnL giving a really good shove on the prime. All dies out, safety glasses and face shield on no loose primers or powder nearby. Many show almost no depth of primer below flush using the caliper stick out piece. I checked one by one, each of the rounds I just ran through to reseat primers. All are 4 thou to 11 thou below flush. This is with a dime under the primer punch. I dented the dime also. Really leaned on these. Headed to my local club now to shoot some steel practice with this ammo to see if my gun is running again. Have a USPSA match in the AM at this same club. Will reseat primers on the remaining 200 rounds if these all go bang and I think they will.
  23. Sooo... Just took shell plate off of my LnL and did some measuring. If I stick a dime over the divot worn into the LnL press frame by the primer punch, I gain 5 thou of primer punch/ram actuation depth. I actually have two LnL's and measured both of my small primer punch/rams also - they were within a thou. I think I may be onto something.
  24. I've got a vacation day today so I am playing around with this XDm trying to get it back to 100% function which I took for granted for sooo long... I load on a Hornady LnL Press. The primer punch has worn a small divot into the cast aluminum frame. Using the stick that comes out the end of my dial caliper, I'm seeing some of my newer ammo primers only being 0.5 to 1.5 thou below flush with the case. Some of my older ammo is more like 3.0-8.0 thou below flush. Some Remington Golden Saber factory ammo I have is mostly 2.5-3.5 thou below flush. I may be getting high primers. I stuck a wood pencil in the barrel and pulled the trigger and the pencil goes flying like 4-6 feet across the room. Very consistent even if I squeeze the trigger slowly or slap it. I don't think it's the gun or PRP parts or springs at this point.
