  1. Mag capacity is a big advantage. I load a 124gr Montana gold with 7.2 gr of auto comp. I load my brass more than once. Just inspect the brass good.
  2. Sjc 90 deg mount for me and sjc 11 port comp.
  3. With the STS I would lose the dot every once in a while and the full size I don't nearly as often. I like the full size much better.
  4. Humm... sorry if I miss led you. I haven't had to do anything to mine to make it work.
  5. Nope. I haven't had any issues. Should be good to go.
  6. I currently have both. I built a 35 using the sts and micro mount. I later bought a 17 with the 90deg mount and a fill size c more. I would highly recommend the 90 deg mount with the full size cmore. The bigger glass on the full size c more makes dot tracking much easier. I will eventually be getting that same set up to replace the micro set up
  7. What gun are you building it from? Just curious.
  8. Another vote for frame mount. The first one i had was a micro red dot the second was a full size c more red dot. Go with the full size. I like the 90 deg mount from sjc.
  9. Sorry glock lover, just re read your post about the 90 deg mount... oops. I miss read it. +1 to your post.
  10. I have not lowered the ejection port on my 9. I am using the 90 degree mount and i believe that was on of the selling points of the mount? Dskinsler83, if you would like i can try and get you some pics to show you what i am talking about tonight when i get home.
  11. I like the 90 deg mount best. Sight sits closer to the slide. Mounting the mount to the frame isnt to bad once you get over drilling a hole in your gun. The instructions tell you to use a dremal and mill it out. The bushings you mount in the frame are shaped like a tombstone. I didnt trust my dremal skills so what i ended up doing was drilling a hole the same size as the as the barrel part of the bushing, heating it up and dropping it in the hole. Worked great. Once it cooled i just trimmed the plastic to clean it up around the bushing where it melted. Hope this makes sense.
  12. I ended up buying another G17 and am returning the 35 to a limited gun and building the 17 into a open gun. Seemed to make the most since to me. Just got to sell the 40 comped barrel and get a 9 comped barrel and a spring then I should be good to go. Thanks for the inputs.
  13. R&R racing has some nice poppers. A local club uses them and I like them. The popper comes off the stand for easy set up tear down and transport. Reduces the chance of pinched fingers from the bolt on popper style.
  14. I also bought the titanium one and could not tell a difference as apposed to a polished stock one. Waste of money in my opinion.
  15. The barrel on my gun was throated. I run 7.2grns auto comp @ 1.160 with a mg 124.
  16. How is the longer barrel going to affect my load? I would figure it would pick up speed?
  17. Its 330 for a barrel and comp on carvers.
  18. Its been awhile but i figured its never too late for a update.I settled on 7.6grs of long shot. Love the load! I just bought a open 17 and now am thinking of selling the 40 barrel and comp. So i can run one load in two guns.
  19. Ya. I know that was the idea with the steel master but I figured someone had tried to run one at major PF. With the short barrel I would think that it would be difficult to get the fps and then if you did it would be tough to tame.
  20. Is anyone making major PF with a steel master? If so, how does it shoot and what loads are you using? Thanks in advance.
  21. Sjc makes nice slide rackers. As far as a frame mounted red dot that requires no mods to the frame i believe you would want to look at carvers.
  22. I would go with a g17 not a 34. I have a 35 open gun and a 17, the 17 seems to handle a lot better. I would go with the sjc magwell before the dawson, the mouth is bigger making for easier reloads. I would also get a frame mounted red dot. I have never shot a red dot mounted on the slide but I would think with the slide moving it would make follow up shots a little more difficult. I would also get a full sized c more, I have the sts on my 35 with a sjc mount, I like the dot and mount but on my 17 I have the sjc sideways mount with the full sized c more. If I could sell my sts and mount I would probably do so to swap over to the side ways mount on my 35. Look at the sjc parts, I really like their products. The mag release imo is a must have. The taylor mag extensions are also a must have, I can get 28 in mine!
