  1. It seems to be the lowest mounting option by far from what I could tell without actually having all the options to test.

I don't think it would clear a slide that hasn't at least been flat topped. I also had to shave a little off my cheely racker to allow it to clear the mount when removing the slide. You could always just remove the racker but I didn't want to have to do that anytime I wanted to pull the slide for whatever reason. It was interfering by probably only .050" so it was only a couple strokes with the file.

any drawbacks to to the arredondo mount NOT having a blast shield? see you have it on a shorty, even.. do you get any blast/fouling/whatever on the lens? seems like the DPP are typically mounted far enough back / short enough that it's not entirely necessary.

also, the arredondo mount appears to be centered on the bore? or is the offset (if any) imperceptible in the pics?

Yes. My lens stays covered with oil with the arrando mount. I have another custom made mount that has a blast shield on my other gun and that does not happen. There is no perceptible offset on my Arrando.

  2. I regularly shoot at 3 ranges uspsa and idpa. 2 match directors stated " range bag was ok as long as you don't handle ammo. one of the ranges wants you to remove all mags and ammo from belt and person if you go to the table to check your gun. I now make it a point to locate the match director and ask for instruction. I added the gun rug to my bag just to be sure

At a USPSA match, it doesn't matter what they "want".

Fathersday will be my 1 year practical shooting. I'm still in " puppy" mode. Asking as many questions as i can, trying to safely get thru without a dq. But....in the top 5 " most accurate " last 4 matches. The stages have "slowed down". When I miss I know it the second I break the shot. Of late been finishing middle of the pac....won't be long, this puppy will soon be a wolf too

    Awesome. Keep at it.

  3. I really don't get they hype. They are a very light weight shoe with an ultra short lifespan I have been through one pair of speed crosses and now have felraisers. Both KILL my feet after 8-10 hours on the range. The soles are so thin you feel everything you step on.

For the last few months I have been shooting in my North Face trail shoes with much more comfort and no noticeable loss of traction.

  5. I will try for a picture tonight comparing the two dots.

Do you uses the brightest setting during sunny days? How dim does your DPP get on the lowest setting?

I pretty much leave mine on high all the time. I did turn it down for a morning stage once when it was really overcast. I think the lowest setting is for NVG. You can barely see it.

  6. Update #2 of 2.5 moa DPP

I zeroed the sight today and shot a during the day and evening with it. I love the adjustment screws, so easy to zero.

During the day with direct sun I feel like the dot brightness is ok but I think it needs a brighter setting. The brightness range goes from barely visible indoors to just just enough brightness on the other end. I wish they would have had one more setting to make brighter. Coming from RTS2 8moa the DPP 2.5 moa has smaller dot and is less bright. The smaller dot of the DPP maybe part of why I feel that the DPP is not bright enough. It will definitly take some getting used to this smaller dot. Brightness is one positive of the RTS2. RTS2 can go very bright and I never had to go to the brightest setting with direct sun.

Strange. I think both of My DPPs are MUCH brighter than the RTS2.

  7. I am around 10k rounds on my DeltaPoint pro in 3 months with zero issues.

Scott, I seen there was a group buy posted that you guys did for DeltaPoints and Oakleys. How are the other deltaPoints doing?

Still going strong. Lesgar and I have been running them for a couple months now with zero issues. I am around 10k rounds on my primary and probably 1500 or so through my backup.

I have a thread going on the DPP here...

  8. Well, I have to admit that I was wrong about the adapter plate. That's what I get for not looking at my sights closely enough. The locator holes on the bottom of the Pro are in the same location as the ones on the original Deltapoint, however, they are bigger in diameter. I just held them up side by side for comparison. The locator pins on the Arredondo mount are sized and located for the original Deltapoint, which means the larger locator holes on the Pro would easily go over those smaller locator pins for the original Deltapoint.

You will have to be careful in aligning the Pro and actually tightening the mounting screws because of the smaller locator pins on the mount and the larger locator holes on the Pro which may allow a little movement when the mounting screws are not tightened down. I just tried it to confirm that.

What I said about the size of the mounting screws is still correct. The included Arredondo mounting screws for his mount are 5-40x1/2, which should work fine. If you are like me and want to use the metric mounting screws that come with the Pro, then you will have to drill and tap the mount for the metric size which is listed as M4x.7x15.8mm (Torx head screws) by Leupold in the Pro instructions.

You are 100% correct. This is the exact setup I am running on the gun in the pics in this thread.

  9. Scott,

Do you find the brightness of the 2.5moa dot to compensate for the larger 8moa dot on the RTS2? Was it a difficult transition going to 2.5moa?

I do. The DPP is in my pure estimation 30% brighter than the RTS 2 on high. Partials at speed are much easier with a small bright dot. Steel is a breeze with the smaller dot also.

  10. We (Akai) have modified the Double Tap two sided mount to work as well...

How did you modify the DT mount? Is this something you can share or would I need to send a mount to you for the mod????

    thanks

The locator pins on the RTS 2 mounts are too small and in the wrong location. Shay milled off the factory pins, made new pins of the correct size and pressed them into the pad.

  11. I notice the website says they now ship in 72 hours or less. Hope that isn't because they are cutting corners...

I'm on the fence about buying one, but would be less so if they improved this issue you are discussing....clearly there are kinks to be worked out still....

Not at all. The owners of Mk7 made a huge purchase of build parts to help meet demand and shorten wait times. The demand is significantly more than they anticipated this soon.
