  1. Base pads can be better or worse depending on where you shoot.  In the sandpit that is SC, the Dawsons suck pretty bad.  Dropping them in sand you will quickly be unable to remove them when sand gets in the mechanism.  TTI or similar are better in my environment.

  2. You will be fine.  Shay is good as gold.  delivery times vary as most finishing companies suck at giving lead times and sticking to them. Shay has been told 2 weeks on DLC before and the guns didn't come back for 3 months.  Be patient.  It will be worth it.

  3. I ride the safety too and can still bump it up with the meaty part of my left hand or first knuckle of my right hand.  Shay has to detent my safeties so much that I have to use my left had to put the safety on.  Any less and I will bump it causing the exact symptoms you are having.
There are other causes as well.  Take the guide rod out of the gun and inspect the reverse  plug with the spring compressed and captured.   If it is cracked the presure will make it easier to see.

With all popular beliefs aside, although the guns may function better, it also increases the wear on your barrel and slide considerably, especially with 9mm major. A better alternative to keep the dot tracking better is to increase your grip strength.

Ok.  I give not one rip about the wear on guns.  I want the gun to perform as best as possible.  You don't build a drag car and run cheap tire because soft ones wear out.  I mean you can, but that is not how you win races.   Pretty sure my grip strength is okay.

I think most folks run an adjustable stock due to the extra length the adapter introduces.  One possible fixed option might be the ARFX-E (Ace Skeleton Entry).  It's got a shorter LOP than the traditional ARFX stock.  Shadyscott99 posted a picture of his setup a day or two ago that was pretty sweet.  He's using the adapter with a Magpul UBR Stock.

Mine runs my minor PF loads using W-231 (3.7 gr w/ a 147 gr coated bullet), but would occasionally fail to eject my TG loads (3.2 gr w/ a 147 gr coated bullet).  I bumped them up to 3.4 gr of TG and they run fine now.

Mags drop free for me no matter the condition (empty, full, bolt open or closed).  I'm using TF extensions, so that adds a bit of weight.  Controls are truly excellent except for the AR style charging handle at the rear.  I really like the bolt and mag release on the right side that can be easily actuated with the trigger finger.

    Yup.

Shady:  thx for the info .... the  Sig is certainly within my budget ... what optic is that & is that mag ext from Sig or a 3rd party?  Also, is the barrel threaded?

Aircooled:   I can certainly wait until after SHOT .... I just sold a SW41 setup for rim fire open Steel Challenge div so I'm looking at what to do & have been toying with the idea of going after GM in a 2nd Steel Challenge division & maybe get back to shoot some USPSA matches again ...

That is a Deltapoint Pro.  The barrel extension is a weld on from Springer.  I tried a thread on aluminum one and the threads pulled out of the aluminum after less than 1000 rounds.  This one looks cool and isn't going anywhere.  The mag extensions are from Springer as well.

Is that the KAK adapter?  UBR Stock?  How is the length of pull.  I am trying to decide on a stock to replace the collapsible one.  I really like the ACE Skeleton Stocks, but am afraid it would be too long with the adapter and no adjustability.

That is not the KAK.  The KAK is a little shorter.  I honestly can;t remember who makes the one I have.  Yes, that is the UBR.  Any stock that is not adjustable and/or requires a rifle length tube will be way too long with the stock adapters you have to use.

  8. I have shot everything from bargain basement home builds to JP's and SIG MPXs.  The Sig is far above the others is you put a trigger in it.  Probably 30% less recoil than the blow-back guns.  I have a gen one that I built up as a PCC I am about 2000 rounds in with not so much as a hiccup.  I have fed it every kind of junk ammo I had or could find.

    There are only 2 negatives.
    1.  Price
    2.  Trigger sucks.  Mine was 11 lbs out of the box.  That was corrected with a Hiperfire 24c and it is 2 lbs even now.

If the MPX is in your budget, it is hands down the best thing available right now.

It is funny how the exact same context came from talk of the RTS2 since those issues first traspired. There were those with original boards that swore by them and were convinced that people were making this stuff up.  I believe that DUD may be a harsh word, but the fact remains if issues are being reported, they have to be acknowledged. I am now awaiting an RTS2 with a V4 board, but I guess that they are very hard to get. I was looking at the DPP, but I have read that there were issues, even though there were also good reports, the bad ones still have to be considered and be taken in consideration. The issue on these units seem to be the heavy recoil impacting the electronics which causes a delay in transmittal, which causes the unit to shut off. C-more has this now corrected, and I am sure that DPP will as well. These issues may not even impact you if you are using standard low recoiling loads. However, these scopes must be able to hold up to 9mm major loads, and similar.

The majority of my usage with the DPP has been on an open gun shooting 178PF loads.
The difference between any issues with the DPP and the RTS 2 is that nearly EVERY person had issues with the RTS2.  You are cherry picking to find issues with the DPP.  In all honesty it matters not to me.
