  1. Just looked at the C-More sts not to much larger, cost is about $100 more but I like it. Have to go to work i'll take a look at the Aimpoint when I get home but thanks for the info. Did'nt get to see the mount system for the sts, any suggestion on a mount that will go on the warne ramp.
  2. I'm putting a scope on my ar with a warne ramp mount to 45 a mini red dot. I have looked at the Burris fastfire an like the price & size but some people like it some don't. Burris seem to be to bright not to bright hard to pick up the red dot etc. I researched the Trijicon rmr, leupold, eotech an insight mini red dots. Eotech has good reviews but its the larger of the mini's. I have nevered use a mini so any in put would be great.
  3. I love the 1100 the reasons why cost, function, reliabilty and available parts you said it they have been around for 50 yrs.
  4. Wrangler riggs great pants wear them every day, will not buy another pair of 5.11's. I wear Propper's at work they are very good too, they have an interior elastic waist band easy to wear a under garment. Both Wrangler and proppers pants are very durable.
  5. A great fighter, hard has nails, thanks for the great fights. God be with you an your family.
  6. Here is my 2 cents I just got done with a rifle, all the suggestions are great from the forum. I found out that what I want, might be different then what someone else suggest so you have to go online and search all the info received. Not to say that any one is wrong on what they suggest but the price might be to high, might choose a different manufacturers with same quality and style is important. The one thing that was always consistent was the glass Nightforce or S&B but that also might be to expensive. So here are my sugestions stock Mcmillan or H&S Precision stocks, barrel Krieger, Lilja or benchmark.
  7. I have a Bushnell with ARC really only use it for Bow hunting. Just to makesure, 1 to 3 yards mistake at distance make a big difference where the arrow hits. Have'nt had any problems with it, checked it seems to be right at the range.
  8. Dont get me wrong I have a great wife, its like you said STI are'nt cheap. What I hear from her is how many guns do you need, I tell her one more then i have. I was a project manager but as we all know the construction business is'nt doing that good, when you can buy a forecloser for 50 cents on the dollar or better even commercial building is bad. Going back to school now to get into the medical field, that also is'nt cheap. So to make everyone happy I'll save up some extra money that she wont even miss to get one. Gives me time to makeup my mind on what I want.
  9. Thanks for posting the site excellent info. Plan an simple
  10. Well Im going to have to keep my fingers crossed that nothing happens. Its been hard enough to talk my wife into letting me SAVE (key word) to get the first STI let alone get one just for back up. I guess my H&K better do the trick for back up, was thinking of either giving it to my son or selling to get the STI faster.
  11. Trying to get started in shooting everytime I read something seems to me my bank account can't handle me shooting competition. Saving for a STI now but really can't afford to have a back up gun at this point. I know everything is unpredictable but how often is a back up gun necessary? Figure I wouldn't have problems with new pistol.
  12. I'm looking for a STI too and I understand wanting to buy new not used but you can make an agreement with the seller to inspect the gun before purchase. I would love to find a used STI for a good price an they are out there but you have to be the first to see it or it is gone. So If I find one I'll buy it until that happens or if it happens I keep saving up for a new one. Dawson has a layaway program for the edge on their web an that might be a way to go.
  13. Thanks for the information on the tactical solution conversion kit. I don't have a 2011 yet been looking for a used 2011 in 40 cal eagle or edge but always seem to be late and someone else gets it. Saving now for a new one and the conversion kit might be the best way to go. The money tree in the backyard died with the economy.
  14. Elite Operator hit the nail on the head. I have a ruger MKII never really look for a hi-capacity mag Just know it was'nt out there. But in recent yrs like you said ammo has gone up and more an more 22lr pistols are made to full size comp pistols (M&P,Glock,1911 etc.). I understand they are for practice, pistols with the same feel of the comp pistol but with lower cost ammo. This is why I asked the mag question because the market is there, conversion kits are and have been out, full feel dedicated 22lr pistol, converision kits for Ar's & dedicated 22lr Ar's. Even the Keltec has a 6 mth waiting list to purchase. But no manufacturer has the time in on the mag research. If you look at all the smaller size concealed pistol most are also lower cal pistols. Pump 15 to 20 shots into someone with a 22lr thats the size of your hand there is no weight or recoil sound good. Look at early concealed pistol 22 short, 22lr, 25, 32 cals we have come a long way but now everyone is thinking knock down now. Dont get me wrong knock down is good but for some female shooter no wieght or recoil is better with 15 to 20 shots. Plus hit some with a 22lr it will bounce off everybone it hits while it rips you apart on the inside.
  15. Did some more research on the Keltec, seems like the reviews I read about feeding problems must have been the ammo. Went to youtube wow didnt see any problems there. No problem with double stack WMR rim
  16. Thanks for the comments an that is the Keltec i refered to. It can be done with the magnum I would love to see it done with the 22lr there is a good market for it.
  17. I love 1911 an 2011 pistols and that many manufacturers make 22lr 1911 pistols. But none make a pistol with a double stack mag. I have looked through older post here and other site plus online to find out why they do not produce a double stack pistol that holds more than 10 rds. The most come answer is that you only need a single stack with 10 rds for comp. I also found that keltec has a 22 mag pistol (copy of the Grendel) that hold 30 rds but has problems feeding rounds & is not very accurate.. I would like to know the reason why no one is producing one, seems to me after searching the subject that alot of people would buy one. Is there a problem trying to get the rimfire case to feed in a double stack mag? Larger double stacks can hold 20 rds why not a 30 round 22 lr double stack mag, I would buy one tomorrow. Thanks
  18. Going to try and come out on Oct 22 for the CMP Rifle Clinics & remaining CMP Games. I also picked up an AR to play with Problem is Im going back to school so I work on the weekends. I tried to come out the last two weekends but family can in town the first weekend & I had daddy duty the next weekend. The distance is a problem I cant get my daddy duty done, shoot then get back to go to work.
  19. I live in Sevierville just received my CMP certificate and plan on singing up on ORSA. Going to join Oak Ridge Sportsmens Association. I would like to try both USPSA and IDPA still have alot to lean first. Looking for either a sti edge or eagle I guess both pistol can be use in USPSA & IDPA. Shooting at the farm for now have big plans for a good shooting range dont really feel like starting competition shooting yet and look like a fool. Plus shooting is not a cheap hobby.
