    Target 89 22

I have shot the 87 and like it so i bought one and it's on the way. Great shooting gun! During may research of the 87 I read a lot of good reviews of the discontinued 89. So I figured I'd see if I could get some good info from here about the 89 before I buy one, if I can find one. Although the 87 has great review and I like it, some say the 89 was a better shooting pistol and a true target pistol but they are almost identical pistols. 87 aluminum shroud, lighter with 10 rds. 89 steel shroud single action, heavyer do to steel, 8 rds. Grips are different. If the 89 in your opinion is a better shooting pistol please let me know. If anyone has seen one for sale please let me know. Please educate me. Thanks
  6. I spoke to Jamie (nice guy) before receiving My JP Chassis about the ring height. Again thanks for the Advice Jamie! I have a 20 MOA rail and a 30mm NF 50mm bell, I also went with the 1.2 high rings. Once I recieved the stock I measured for rings and the height was 1.1 inches with 1/8" clearance. I went with the 1.2 rings and not 1.125 rings to make sure the scope cover would be easier to get on and off. My scope cover has an thick bead on it. I have about 3/16" of clearance from bell to rail.
  7. If you like the city live in Knoxville or buy some land just outside the city. We have UT, Maryville College, Roane State and Walter state to find a job. You will be really close to Orsa shooting club. You are also within 4 hr to shoot in Nashville TN,KY, GA, VA, WVA, NC and Al. We have the Great Smoky Mountains hiking, camping, fishing and hunting. Great yr round weather summer and winter IMHO. If you like to ride atv's or side by side we are close to windrock and ride royal blue. Gatlinburg has ski mountain for all your winter skiing or snowboard. TN no state income tax! Great place to live!

  10. Thanks Manny for the info on the Cherokee Club, I was down at River bend two week age for the first time it's a great place. I'll be back there as much as I can.
  11. Welcome, have you ever shot at River Bend in Cummins Ga? They hold alot of shooting events, I have two friends that shoot there.
  12. Sorry for not going into detail but yes you will need a larger bobcat (with tracks IMO) to carry the blocks to stack in place. It also depends on how high you want to go I notice you said 14' long but I did'nt see a height. If you stack more than three high which is pushing it (size of bodcat and your experience with the machine)use a excavator of correct size. You need to let the rental company know what you are lifting to determine size of machine. A footer will also be needed either concrete or gravel depending on weight of berm and ground conditions also helps to level blocks. By no means is this a throw in place job but once completed it will last. There are two types of block neither are rebar reinforced. 1) retaining wall block 2500lbs 18Tallx46Longx41Deep has hooks can be stacked with a chain 2)waste material block 28Tx60Lx28D 4000Lbs. no hooks must use a spreader bar. Prone to collapse with excssive weight against them. Most of the delivery truck will stack them for you if they can get to the location and have a boom to reach out. You said a dump truck can get to your berm so they might. Check with the company you buy the blocks from to find out how long the boom is on their delivery truck also check around your area for a longer boom truck to be able to keep them out the mud. Communicate wth the company that sale the blocks the will direct you on how the install an what is needed to install. Picture of our wall with decorative retaining blocks set with an excavator due to the height.
  13. Between my Wife and two kid I feel like Im in the Grocery Store and fast food business!!!!
  14. We use the male and female concrete blocks for retaining walls here in TN. If you prep the location first an the truck can get in your backyard they will stack them for you. If not rent a bobcat and make sure you have a strong chain. They are poured with rebar hooks to set them with.
  15. Good for you, I dip copenhagen. I quit (stoppped)four time twice for a yr, once for 9 mths and another for 6 mths but something always came up and i went back. My problem is and was that its always around. I know that just an excuse, it's funny you posted again today because I've been thinking about stopping again. Good luck and stay strong.
  16. Welcome, glad your here, a lot of knowledgeable shooters here, I'm still learning too.
  17. I feel your pain, love the SEC.
  18. Ordered some and also had no problem, got them in three day. Also ordered pmag with no problem. I guess I've been lucky they had them in stock.
  19. I hate it too, Seems like its everywhere, they broke two windows out of my truck (dumb ass couldn't reach the lock from the back window) to steal the change out of my coffee cup but thank God they were to stupid to open the glove box and missed the pistol. Someone also broke in at my farm. That's two for me at two different locations If I find them it will be listed as a hate crime. Hate to be them! I feel for you.
  20. Well I spoke to a distributor, he told me there is no problem cutting the 3/8 or thicker steel with a plasma or laser. He stated that all the worry about cutting with a plasma or laser is for the 1/4 inch thick steel at 4 inch size pcs or smaller. I have 3/8 thick, 8 inch round targets cut with a plasma cutter and they are not cracking or chipping.
