  1. Great videos! I subscribed to your channel, and look forward to seeing more man.
  2. Looks like they are doing a modern movie of Coriolanus. Looks like its going to be a great war movie!
  3. I prefer closing my left eye when shooting since I am right handed, and my left eye is dominant. My girlfriend who is the same and shoots also though just learns to shoot rifle left handed. Which messes with me trying to teach her to shoot so I brought in a friend of mine who is a Marine and shoots left handed to help her lol. She picked it up pretty well as she is a brand new shooter. I been shooting right handed for rifles, and shotguns since I learned to shoot so its harder for me to do that.
  4. I have to check with the group that holds the matches but I believe they hold one Steel Challenge match a year in my area. But I don't know if other USPSA host steel challenges in other parts of Virginia.
  5. To me I think this season of top shot is kinda of making more of a plug in for sponsors. That might be why they used a Salient Glock 34 vs a stock Glock 34. If you noticed in Season One they used Colt AR-15s I believe but suddenly they are going more tactical with the LaRue OBR, S&W M&P 45s, and kinda making more of an advertising ad in Season Three. Notice how they stage boxes of ammo being used behind the gun when they first show it up close with the brand name showing. But then again I am sure most of the time companies donate ammo or donate/lend these guns to Top Shot to get some free advertising. Still a great show though since the challenges are impressive.
  6. I went to my first multi-gun match 2 weeks ago and had a blast even though my performance wasn't as good as I would of liked. But I learned a couple of things which one that using a non-free float barrel can cause your accuracy to be off. I am primarly a pistol guy, and the S&W M&P-15 MOE was my first carbine purchase, and I have very LIMITED experience with ARs. While I love the new rifle I was wondering until I get a free float barrel or a rifle that has one if anyone on here had any suggestions on stances, or techniques I can use to help my accuracy when using a non free float barrel in 3 gun? Thanks PS I am sorry if there is another thread on this. I found quite a few threads talking about the advantages of a free float barrel over a non-floated barrel but didn't find anything that answered the question I asked here.
  7. I used a Gen 3 19 for almost a year and a half and didn't have any problems. I now use a Gen 4 17 for about 6 months and again haven't really had any problems. The texture of the grips though are slightly different on the gen 4s. Takes a little getting used too for me since its texture feels slightly different. But I certainly like the advantage of being able to expand your backstrap especially for people like me who have big hands.
  8. I love these forums already. I was just thinking while I was doing dry fire drills in front of my tv it would be great if I could find a book or a web source for drills. Saw this thread when I figure hey lets check out these forums I just registered for. I am going to look into ordering this book and will try this 30 days.
  9. My question since I am about to join the USPSA is the SCSA membership worth it as well?
  10. Hello! My name is Sean and I am 22 years old, and I just recently became interested in the action shooting sports. I saw these forums and they looked like a great source of information so I decided to become a member. I only have done one Multi-Gun match and was hooked, but I plan on attending action shoots at C2 Shooting Center in Virginia Beach, and Camp Allen's action shoots in Norfolk. I also will be going to the Blackwater Practical Shooters USPSA Pistol match, and their multi-gun match in September at the US Training Center in Moyock, NC. I currently have a Gen 4 Glock 17, S&W M&P 9mm, S&W M&P-15 MOE, and a Mossberg Maverick 88 (which will be replaced by an autoloader soon). I feel most at home with the pistol as I recieved training in it. I am also looking out to attend a basic carbine, and tactical shotgun courses. I look forward to getting to know all of you on these forums, and I will hopefully get to know some of the locals from the Tidewater area in person. Regards, Sean
