  1. Short round, you're right that finding the dot has to do with index. Getting a good index isn't too hard in leisurely practice, but it's definitely harder under match pressure or when shooting in a weird position. Or, when you're just off that day or when your draw isn't exactly right. Or ......

  3. "you'll be stuck there when others will pass you".

Life is a dynamic thing. If you aren't getting better you are getting worse. There is no such thing as staying the same. When you aren't practicing the other guy is. Someday you will meet him and if you aren't prepared he will crush you in competition in front of all your friends and laugh in your face.

And being able to see when you are "wishing to settle down"

    I wish to settle down now. It's 3am ... I'm sleepy.

  4. I have to say that I think the C-more is significantly faster on transitions due to the wider field of view.

    Exactly.

Some people have no problem finding the C-More dot (or with the parallax) while others struggle with it.

"Finding the dot" is all about index. If you index properly you don't have to "find it." It will be there.

In the end, it's what works best for you in terms of your physiology and how you see things.

    Most definitely.

  5. If you are having a lot of "down time" before the sights get to where you want them, perhaps a look into the grip and stance is in order?

It's a long sad story that started with the slide on my open gun cracking so now it's being fixed. In the meantime I'm shooting limited for the first time in 5 months. After dusting off the .40 toolhead and finally finding the .40 conversion kit at the bottom of a drawer I'm ready to start making .40 ammo again. I load a few of these and chrono them at 176 pf. oops. Those loads are what I shot all this weekend.

Basically, you're right. I use a more neutral grip pressure shooting open which doesn't work to well with 176pf limited. I have to learn to shoot limited again.

... I miss my dot and compensators :(

  6. There's a lesson I can learn from this topic esp. since I left a local match today with five misses, all due to Visual Impatience  <_<

This reminds me of something I was going through in practice today.

Even though I had the patience to wait for the sight to become what I wanted to see before I let my next shot go, I certainly wasn't waiting patiently.

  7. Here it is... my first, very own, Open gun!

    I'm in love...

I remember my first one like it was yesterday ... I'm still in love

One thing though, I have hybrid holes like you do and you might want to consider a blast shield for your c-more.

    ENJOY!

  8. Sign me up --- that is if you're planning on having an island newspaper. I'd be willing to cover the weekly matches for the sports section....

Sports section? No way. On Ipsc Island match results are the headlines. You'll be writing for the front page.

  9. It's difficult to change who you are no matter who is making you do it. The only three options to any situation come to mind - adapt, migrate, or become extinct.

Nice post ... I hate that too.

  10. This last weekend at a club match I was running a shooter that chambered a round but then didn't put a new magazine in the gun. There I am looking at his holstered gun with a big gaping hole where the mag should be. So I told him. I also told him that when the little green book takes effect he's screwed, but since we were still using the little red ipsc book ...

IPSC Tabasco sounds awesome. Where do I sign up?
