I am going to try my hand with this at some point, I am leaving it stock for now. It may get a bit of custom work in the future.

I am thinking of getting one of the RIA 9mm options. I have heard nothing but good things. For the money you can not beat it! I eventually plan to add a Nighthawk Talon II 9mm... but it could be awhile.

I would go with a Smith, they are nice 1911s. The looks just are not for everybody, and the FP safety isn't in the trigger which is a plus.

I am still leaning toward a Beretta, I don't have one... if nothing else it is the cheapest option. I can not find an Elite, so it looks like a stock M9 or 92FS... I know I want a decocker only, but I have not found one that has that stock. Is that added on? I don't care for the grip angle on the Glock I get bit too much. I know I could modify the grip but then it is not SSP or Production legal.

The M&P is my fall back if I can't find a metal gun to fall in love with. I had a stock Pro for a bit and it was okay but I didn't like the feel of the trigger. I had not tried to change it to an Apex so that is the fall back if all else fails. I can't do a Glock I have tried, a half dozen times, just not me. I am not going to be competitive for awhile, so anything I shoot will make me better. When I get faster to the point equipment is my issue, I plan to move to one of them STI Space Guns.... till then I will try a Beretta or CZ.

I can do this on a revolver all day long and it does not bother me. It scares the heck out of me on a semi auto. It is the one thing holding me from trying a CZ but I am about over that. I am sure once I do it, it will be fine.

I actually point a Sig better than anything else. I just can not shoot one to save my life... I always hit the slide release with my thumb. I keep avoiding the CZ's maybe after buying just about all the other options I should take a shot.

It is an option, I like the one with the full rail which is problematic. I shot a Beretta today and did well with it, which is why I am looking at them. Never shot a CZ personally so I am leery.

I went out with my HK today and we are not getting along all that well. If I wanted to try a Beretta which of current production choices are the way to go? I have tried to like Glock and can not do it.

I have a USP and like to ride my thumb on the safety lever like a 1911. I found out today this is not such a good thing, and I keep decocking it. I know I can switch to a V9 plate to only act as a safety. Is it still legal in SSP? I assume I just have to be real careful decocking it.. Or is a light LEM the way to go? Though I seem to remember that isn't legal either?

I decided to pass on the trade, I am worried about the weight and I may have to put this off to get a new Production Class Pistol. We shall see...

I may be doing a deal for a Rizzini Aurum Classic with 28" barrels. Any reason not to do this? It seems they are getting the short end of the stick, but I already pointed that out. It doesn't have the case they come with now, but I can buy a case... It seems like if nothing else it will get me started and I can upgrade later on if it was needed.

I have been using the MecGars for awhile now and they have not given me any issues. The Sig actually ended up in the Wife's shooting bag, I always was hitting the slide lock while shooting. It was causing the Sig to jam or have feed issues. I still like it more than most as far feel and build, it just doesn't fit me.

I will see if the library has it, or place an order on amazon. I am going in for now just for a general gun for all things blowing up a clay disk some of the time. It looks like I will put up my M2 and start looking for another shotgun afterwards. Both of those shops of a lot of nice used stuff, also found a few things on gunbroker.

I feel I should not have found that website... They have some marked Skeet... and some Trap. I understand the sport differences what is different about the guns?

I recently picked up a Benelli M2 Tactical on a whim... I am now figuring out it is a great HD/Range gun... but not good for much else. I have a local club that does Skeet and Trap every week and I would like to go out for some fun. I used to screw around with an old pump 870 but it has been a loooonnnngggg time. I have a few options... Keep the Benelli M2 and buy a barrel and stock, and figure out a way to cover the holes from the ghost rings. Sell the take offs and hopefully not be out all that much cash... I am sure I will though. Another option is to sell the Benelli and pickup a Beretta Semi or O/U... or something else in the 1.5kish range. I am leaning toward either doing up the M2 or another Semi, so I could modify it again later for three gun if I ever get my rifle built. What would you do?

I am curious about removing the ghost ring sight as well. I picked up an M2 tactical on a whim and really like it stock, but I want to setup for other sports at some point. I wonder is there any way to remove the front sight from the stock barrel and replace with something else? That way I could pick up a 21 or 24 vent rib, and go back to the 18.5 for HD without having to put the rear ghost ring on and off.

It would meet weight though for ESP as is if I am looking at the numbers right. Or am I wrong? (It happens a lot.) So the rail is not considered a full length dust cover? I am surprised it could be allowed at all to be honest. I will have to look at the one without the rail, that may be the ticket. I knew it existed but couldn't find one. I may just order it from that site.

I found one of these and fell in love with it. I am just trying to figure out if it is legal at all for IDPA. I see some things say yes some say the weight is the only issue. I assumed it wouldn't fly due to the full length dust cover, I don't really care what division it would be in as long as it could play. I have been looking for a super nice 9mm for a long time and this just fits! I may pick it up anyway, I keep talking myself into it then out of it. My guess would be the fact you can not ride a trigger reset if you have to move position so you can only use the reset position on shots you are not moving for since you have to index at other times.

I always shoot better with a glock..and I don't really like them that much.

I will say I am not sure if this is correct or not, but some have led me to believe a Springfield may not be the best choice due to the ILS Mainspring Housing which it seems it is not legal to switch out in IDPA. I just picked up a TRP before finding this out so it is kinda annoying but I forgot all about the ILS on the Springfields. I am still going to keep the TRP as I love the gun, I just wanted to switch to a different mag well which requires changing the mainspring housing. I will still use it in USPSA, and have a Glock 34 I am going to focus on first anyway, but still it is a bummer.

Which model? I could be wrong but pretty much all the Springfield's are marked 1911 - A1 from the GI to the Custom Shop Stuff.

I was going to hold off on this for awhile, but my aunt has decided to give me a gun for Christmas.... Nice surprise. I am torn between a revolver or using the money toward a limited setup. I just got my Production kit all complete so this is I am sure not the best idea but I am not going to turn down gun money. I mentioned saving it but that did not go over all that well.

I actually had a M&P 45 with a threaded barrel kit, the threaded barrel was a headache but other that that it was great. I sold it to fund who knows what... I had no real issue loading 10 rounds in mine though. I know they have been changing the mags around. It was a great gun really, I wanted something 9mm though to shoot SSP and Production... I have had several things in the interim which is why I can't remember what the 45 went towards...
